When Fred Maxwell stepped out, Mary went to him “What happened, why was Andre arrested? What had he done?” She asked hastily. Her eyes welled up with tears and she sniffled.
“Honestly I don't know Mary. I wish someone would explain things to me. But whatever made Andre act reckless, it means he'd gotten to its bottle neck” Fred explained and gave a soft tap by her shoulders.
Andre was taken to the police station and locked behind bars. He was fuming in rage but chose to be quiet. He doesn't like it, losing his temper. How can that woman treat him like this? Even if he is an employee of her company, he is not less than a human.
Power intoxicates but evilness gets its strength in position. He'd only resent women the more. A man wouldn't act this way, a man will put others in consideration before acting but women, their senses are in their heels, so down there.
He would return there if he wasn't given his bills. But God saves her to send it to his email or his contact, then he would return there with a resignation letter. He cannot allow himself to be trampled upon by a woman ever again.
Fred came over to see him and when he locked eyes with Andre, he looked away. He sighed softly. Andre locked up, this is simply an exertion of power and influence. No matter what happened, if it has nothing to do with theft and threat to life, the police shouldn't be involved.
There are securities in the company and they have a common place to hold people in waiting. Now sending him to the police station was wrong and the high lofty Camella Wood wouldn't bend for anyone.
“Can you talk to me just this once, Andre?” Fred asked and he sighed softly. He explained everything to him and how he ended with Jack. And in the end, he asked a question “Did I do wrong?
She'd slapped me before and I held back because she's my boss. Now her fiance also slaps me and I shouldn't stop him? One day they will have kids and their kids will do the same thing to me simply because I am an employee of their company?
Am I less of a human in her eyes? I haven't been paid my full salary for three months now, over what? I was not in the company when things went wrong. It happened at night, it wasn't my shift and not my specialty.
I am a Mechanical engineer not an electrical engineer but I am also good at that. I decided to help, what did I get in return, slash my money and earn a slap for not recognising her as the CEO. I was thinking of paying up the money she incurred on me and leaving her nostril company and that's what I did wrong?”
Fred was angry. From what Andre just said, he was innocent. He had absolutely nothing to do with whatever happened that day and he remembered that he wasn't in the workshop when he took the CEO there.
“I haven't heard a word from you but I knew I wasn't wrong to vouch for you. I'm sorry that you have to suffer injustice. This is not right, absolutely. I'll see that you didn't spend the night here, I promise you Andre” Fred declared.
The day's activities were over and everyone left, except Camella Wood doing some work behind. It's Friday and she wants to clear off some work on her desk. A new week should be started on a clean slate.
“Miss Camella” Fred called out and she paused, raising her head from her desk to glance at him and continued with her work. She doesn't like being disturbed when working but Fred is her assistant, she should always listen to him when he calls her.
“Aren't you going to tell the police to grant Andre a bail?” he requested. It's getting late and his mother didn't see him. She will become worried and feel uneasy. And last that he checked, she hasn't been feeling well.
“He will spend his weekend there, alone in starvation. That is the punishment for crossing his limits” Camella declared triumphantly. He wants him to know that she's not a soft tissue to be chewed.
“His mother will get worried and she's not feeling well. He's her only child and how can she cope without Andre around?” Fred coaxed. He is saying the truth, Andre's mother will cry her eyes out if she learnt her son was locked up in the police station.
“That's not my business. He should have thought about his mother before being reckless. If he didn't put his mother into consideration, why should I? And let this discussion be over” she declared and shut down her computer. It's getting late already, she needs to leave before her nanny starts calling her.
“Move this stuff into the car, I'll work at home over the weekend” she instructed. Fred will not have his request granted. That fool needs to learn a lesson.
Fred Maxwell moved those items out. Everyone had gone except the security guards. How can he let Andre spend the night in the police station? He needs a miracle somehow that will help him keep his promise to him.
Camella was following behind him. When they got to the parking lot, she instructed him to place the things at the passenger seat, not the trunk. Fred nodded and opened the door. He saw a jacket neatly folded on a side and he decided to move it towards the middle when he squinted.
“Keep the jacket here” she said, pointing to the space next to where she sat down. Fred nodded but this jacket was familiar, Andre Torello has this exact kind of jacket. He unfolded it and saw his name woven on it.
It's a custom made jacket. He remembered him telling him one day that it was a present from his mom on his last birthday. He froze and Camella glanced at him.
“Why are you with this jacket ma'am?” He asked. So many questions popped into his head. How can she resent Andre so much and yet, be in possession of his jacket. Is there something no one knows about them?
“I've been searching for its owner. I decided to keep it by my side, maybe one day, someone might help me unravel the mysterious man” Camella flippantly replied.
Fred chuckled. “Mysterious? Why do you assume he is mysterious?” He asked and Camella explained briefly how the guy saved her and her chauffeurs and he almost froze or probably froze to death, she cannot say.
