"You and... Gloria?" Sean knew that the person lying on the bed was Gloria.
He had recognized her the day he saw her in Fittro Club.
But he could not believe that Patrick had pressed her down and kissed her.
"Can't you see it yourself?"
"It won't be!" Sean grabbed Patrick, who turned around and was about to enter the ward. "Patrick, don't tell me you have feelings for her?"
Sean's words made Patrick halt his steps. He slowly turned around and stared at Sean with a threatening look in his eyes. "Her? Who are you talking about?"
"Of course, it's Gloria."
Sean felt his scalp tingle from Patrick's gaze.
When Patrick returned to the ward, his body seemed to be covered in frost, and he looked extremely cold and indifferent.
He glanced at Gloria coldly and said, "I asked Sean to get you some food. It's on the nightstand."
Gloria stared at Patrick with her mouth slightly open. She felt as if a door opened in her sealed heart.
"I kissed you. So, I should give you something in return." As Patrick spoke, he took out a big stack of money and threw it on the bed. "This is for your medical bill. If it's not enough, ask Christine."
Bang!
The door of Gloria's heart slammed shut again!
"Get recovered quickly. I'm expecting you to make money for me."
Patrick left in a carefree manner. Gloria's face turned ashen.
She thought that he had some feelings for her, so he kissed her. She thought that this was probably a good sign.
But she was wrong!
Patrick hated her. He always hated her!
He would only torture and humiliate her. He would never love her.
"Patrick, do you know what you said to Gloria was hurtful?" Sean followed behind Patrick and told Patrick about his thoughts.
"Do I need to care how she feels?"
"You've always been so self-centered. What if you regret doing this in the future?"
Patrick handed a cigarette to Sean and smiled disapprovingly. "Take it. Don't let your imagination run wild."
Would he regret it?
Absolutely impossible.
Sean said nothing more. He knew that Patrick would never regret anything.
Even with the incident with Gabrielle, Sean had never seen Patrick regret it.
"How about having a drink together?"
"I have some things to deal with."
Sean decided to follow Patrick to the Fittro Club.
In the Fittro Club, Christine asked someone to call Lillian to her office.
"Gloria shares a dormitory with you. She's sick. How come you didn't notice anything?" Christine asked as she sat on the sofa.
Lillian's roommate was sick and did not come to work. Christine did not believe that Lillian had not noticed it at all.
Lillian must have ignored Gloria intentionally.
Christine remembered that Gloria almost died last night.
If she hadn't rushed over in time, Gloria would have died in her dorm.
Christine didn't care about Lillian's indifference, but if it almost caused the death of a person...
Christine wouldn't want to hire someone like Lillian anymore.
Christine had always been meticulous about handling things. Just now, she learned more about the relationship between Lillian and Gloria. She heard something surprising from Ruby.
Lillian couldn't sit still because she was called to Christine's office alone, and Christine was her superior whom she could rarely meet.
Lillian thought that she had done something wrong.
As Christine mentioned Gloria, Lillian breathed a sigh of relief.
It turned out that it was because she was in the same dormitory as Gloria. It was only a routine inquiry, yet it nearly scared her to death.
"Christine, I am not close to that woman."
That woman?
Christine raised her head and glanced at Lillian. She asked with interest, "That woman?"
Christine's expression made Lillian at a loss.
Lillian thought about it carefully. She didn't think that she had said something wrong. Then what exactly did Christine mean?
"Lillian, you look down on Gloria, right?" Christine asked suddenly.
'Of course. Who would think highly of that woman?'
Lillian wanted to say so.
But she didn't. She organized her thoughts and then looked at Christine, saying, "She was so shameless, and everyone in the Fittro Club knew. How could she crawl on the ground and bark like a dog for money? She even picked up the money on the ground with her mouth. Christine, everyone is scolding her..."
Lillian felt ashamed when she said it.
Christine suddenly smiled. Her smile was unusually bright, like the melting snow in the early spring.
Lillian thought, 'I did not say anything wrong this time, right?'
At the thought of Gloria, Lillian felt ashamed.
Christine smiled at Lillian and asked, "What are you scolding her for? Is she shameless? Or is she a cheap woman?"
She mocked, "I've read your resume. You're a college student, right? Do you think that you're free from the dirty world? You're innocent and pure, aren't you? Do you think that Gloria is a lowly person who doesn't deserve to live under the same roof as a lofty person like you? So even if she's sick and doesn't come to work, you can ignore her, right?"
Lillian looked at Christine in confusion.
She did not understand what Christine meant.
Christine stood up and walked to Lillian. She was tall and wearing high heels. When she stood in front of Lillian, Lillian was dwarfed by her.
"Lillian, you think you are noble and innocent. You are ambitious, and you look down on Gloria in your heart. Let me tell you, you can't compare yourself with Gloria!"
Lillian was unconvinced. "Christine, you're going too far! How come I can't compare myself to a woman who doesn't even care about her dignity? We both need money, but I am not as desperate as her! Though I am working in the Fittro Club, I'm only a waitress. I am different from Gloria, who is willing to sell her dignity for money!"
Christine sneered. "Don't think too highly of yourself. There are so many guests in the Fittro Club. If someone picks you, can you reject him and remain innocent? Do you remember what happened in the private room that day? If not for Gloria, do you think you can still be standing here and making sarcastic remarks?"
