Torn Between my Alpha Mates

Chapter 176: Far From Over

Ch. 176 / 177 Dec 10, 2025

Silas’ P.O.V

4 Months later…

The hospital room was filled with an air of anticipation and excitement as we waited for the arrival of Zoya and Ezra's first child.

The soft hum of machinery and the subdued chatter of the medical staff created a soothing backdrop to the momentous occasion.

Zoya lay in her hospital bed, a serene smile on her face despite the labor pains.

She gripped Ezra's hand tightly as contractions came and went. I stood outside the doors, an indescribable whirlwind of emotions swirling within me.

I was excited to meet the newest member of our extended family but also reflective, thinking of the journey that had brought us here. It seemed like such a long time, a thousand lifetimes ago.

As the doctor announced the baby's imminent arrival, a sense of joy and unity washed over us all.

Zoya's determination and Ezra's unwavering support had led them to this beautiful moment. It was a reminder that love and resilience could conquer even the darkest of shadows.

Some months ago, I would have been the most bitter about Zoya’s union with Ezra. I would have been territorial, angry. I would have fought my brother, come hell or high water, just so I could win her hand.

Now I felt nothing but happiness for their family. Funny how the times have changed. How much of it strayed from expectations.

And to be honest, I would not have chosen any other path. I was grateful everything; even the bad, especially the good.

Finally, the cry of a newborn filled the room, and the doctor gently placed the baby girl in Zoya's arms.

Tears of happiness glistened in their eyes as they gazed at their daughter, a perfect blend of their love and commitment. It’s like every trial and hardship they had ever gone through as individuals were merely stepping stones to lead them to this moment.

I couldn't help but smile as I watched Zoya and Ezra share their first moments as parents.

As Zoya cradled the baby and Ezra couldn’t let go of either of them, she looked at me, and we exchanged a knowing glance.

Her eyes dropped to the baby, and she raised her arms a bit, turning her gaze back to me.

It took me a while to realize what she was hinting at; she wanted me, the uncle, to hold the baby.

In that moment, it was clear that we had all moved forward, leaving behind the pain and darkness of the past.

The birth of this precious child was a symbol of hope and a reminder that life could bring unexpected beauty, even after the most challenging of trials.

“I would be honored,” I told her.

Holding the tiny bundle of joy in my arms, I realized that family was more than just blood; it was the connections we forged through shared experiences, love, and forgiveness.

The child was so warm in my arms. So precious, so alive.

I gave the baby back to her after a while, and she happily took the child back in her arms.

“So,” Cam began, “do you have a name for her yet?”

Zoya smiled, a mischievous glint in her eye. “Actually…” she said. “Ezra and I haven’t discussed this yet, but I already decided on a name that I know you all will love…”

“What is it? Hurry, tell us!”

The moment Zoya announced the name she had chosen for their daughter, an emotional wave washed over the room…

"Lily," she said, her voice filled with love and reverence.

Ezra's eyes glistened with tears of gratitude and joy. He leaned in and kissed Zoya softly on the lips. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "It's a beautiful name."

I felt a lump form in my throat.

Lily, the name of the woman that we all had loved and lost, now carried a new significance.

It was now a symbol of closure, a reminder that life had come full circle.

I moved closer to Zoya. "Thank you, Zoya," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "Lily would be honored."

The room filled with celebratory cheers and applause.

As we celebrated the birth of Lily, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of blissful melancholy. The demons of the past were finally put to rest, and in their place, a new beginning had emerged.

Everyone else in the room gathered around Zoya and the newborn Lily, offering their blessings and well-wishes.

The joy in the room was palpable, a powerful reminder that even in the face of darkness and adversity, love and forgiveness could lead to moments of extraordinary beauty.

But my attention was suddenly drawn to something that didn't quite fit the joyful atmosphere.

I had been thoroughly enjoying the festivities, watching Lily receive all the love and attention she deserved. It was her special day, after all, and we wanted it to be perfect.

But then, I noticed Anika slipping away from the heart of the celebration, a half-smile on her face that didn't quite reach her eyes.

She seemed distant, lost in thought, and it didn't take long for my curiosity to get the better of me. I excused myself from the group I had been conversing with and discreetly followed her, my footsteps echoing softly in the corridor.

She moved gracefully, her steps purposeful yet somehow laden with a hint of melancholy.

I watched her silhouette as she reached the exit door, her slender figure framed by the soft glow of the indoor lights. A gentle breeze carried the faint scent of flowers as she stepped outside, and I knew I couldn't let her go without understanding what was on her mind.
