The Homeless Billionaire

Chapter 10

Ch. 10 / 77 Mar 12, 2026

I went to the shelves and found the book the woman had requested. As I handed it to her, another person came and asked for another book. This continued for a while until I couldn't handle it anymore. Jaimie was crying, so I took a break and went to the inner room to breastfeed him. After I was finished, I played with him for a bit before going back to work.

Vivian, a regular library visitor, walked in. She greeted me with a smile and said, "Hi, Mina. How are you today?"

I replied, "Hello Linda, I'm doing well. How are you?"

"Where's my little pumpkin, Jaimie?" she asked with a kind smile.

"Oh, he's with Ellie." Ellie is a four-year-old girl who likes playing with Jaimie whenever her mother comes to the library with her.

Vivian smiled upon seeing Jaimie playing and said, "Such a beautiful girl."

I nodded, as not many people know Jaimie is actually a boy. "Do you need assistance today?"

Vivian declined any assistance from me, saying, "Oh no, nothing. I was just passing by and decided to stop by and see our princess."

As I was talking to Vivian, Ellie came running out and said, "I think your baby poo-ed."

"I'll have to go inside and change his diapers." I turned to Linda and saw her studying me. I smiled and added, "I'll be right back."

Linda reassured me, saying, "Don't worry about me. I'll just check for more books."

I picked up Jaimie's diaper bag and made my way to the inner room to change his diapers. As I was changing Jaimie's diapers, I smiled at my baby, "Jaimie, you really ate too much."

Jaimie cooed and smiled like a happy child.

Vivian had been frequenting the library for the past few weeks, suspicious of Mia. Something about Mia didn't sit right with Vivian. Mia claimed to be twenty-four, but Vivian thought she looked younger. Mia's blonde hair looked dyed and today it didn't look natural. When Ellie told Mia her little girl needed a diaper change, Vivian noticed fear and panic on Mia's face. Curiosity got the better of Vivian, so she followed Mia to an inner room. She leaned against the door and eavesdropped on Mia. To her shock, Mia called the child Jaimie, not Mia. When Vivian peeked through a small peephole, she realized the baby was a boy, not a girl.

Suddenly, the name Jaimie seemed familiar. It hit her that the baby was Billionaire Baron's child. The pieces started falling into place, and she realized that Mia was the runaway wife of the multimillionaire Ludale McCully, popularly known as Billionaire Baron.

Vivian stepped out of Wilson's Library and Bookstore feeling both nervous and excited. She had just seen Jasamina McCully, the runaway wife of Billionaire Baron. She had to act fast and call the police! There was a large sum of money promised for information about her whereabouts. Vivian shuffled through her handbag to find her phone and quickly moved about two meters away from the store so that no one would overhear her conversation. She dialed the number that was written on the posters, not 911 and waited as the phone rang.

"Hello, am I talking to the Commissioner of the Police Department?" Vivian asked when the call was answered on the third ring.

"Yeah. What can we do for you?" came a gruff and bored voice.

"Well, my name is Vivian. I'm calling from Wilson's Library and Bookstore. Jasamina McCully is here. The wife of Billionaire Baron. She works here. I think I recognized her," Vivian said, trying to keep her voice steady.

There was a moment of silence, and then the voice on the other end spoke again. "We are tired of prank calls, you know."

"It's not a prank! I'm telling the truth," Vivian replied quickly, trying to sound convincing.

"Are you sure of what you are saying? If we find out that you are lying, we will arrest you, so you had better not play with us," the voice said, sounding more interested.

"Yes, I'm sure. I just saw her. She even attended to me when I wanted to buy some books. She is wearing a denim overall and a white shirt. I guess she dyed her hair blond to avoid recognition," Vivian explained, feeling confident in her recognition of Jasamina.

"Ok. Quickly give me the address of this bookstore," the voice said, and Vivian could hear the sound of a pen and paper.

Vivian gave the address and looked around, trying to make a proper description. "The bookstore is about twenty meters away from the primary school that collapsed on West Avenue. The color is green and it's a one-story building with corrugated zinc roofs."

"Thanks for the information. Please ensure that you hang around the area. We need to get to see you and ask a few questions," the voice said before hanging up.

Feeling satisfied, Vivian put her phone back in her bag and paced, waiting impatiently for the police to arrive. She couldn't wait to get this over with and collect the hundred-thousand-dollar reward.
