The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

A Grim Celebration

Ch. 476 / 790 May 05, 2026

The King’s castle was unrecognizable, transformed into a grotesque display of dark opulence. Black and crimson banners hung from the high walls, their designs swirling with runes of domination and power. The air buzzed with an unnatural energy as servants rushed to and fro, setting the stage for the union decreed by the King.

Misery sat before a grand mirror, her reflection almost unrecognizable. Her gown was an elaborate masterpiece, woven with threads of silver and black that shimmered like moonlight on still water. Her hands trembled as they rested on her swollen belly, her face pale with despair.

A seamstress adjusted the hem of her gown, her movements brisk but efficient. “Hold still, my lady,” she muttered, not sparing a glance at Misery’s haunted expression.

Across the room, Adrian stood rigid as attendants fitted him with a tailored suit of deep crimson and ebony. His reflection in the adjacent mirror was that of a man trapped, his crimson eyes simmering with suppressed rage. He caught Misery’s gaze in the mirror, their unspoken anguish passing between them.

Misery broke the silence first, her voice a trembling whisper. “We’ll never see them again, will we?”

Adrian hesitated, his jaw tightening as he fought for the right words. Finally, he crossed the room, dismissing the attendants with a wave of his hand. He knelt before her, taking her hands in his. “I’ll find a way to protect you,” he said softly, his voice steady despite the chaos swirling around them. “Both of you.”

Tears welled in Misery’s eyes, but she blinked them away, her expression hardening. “You can’t fight him alone, Adrian. He’s too strong.”

Adrian’s grip on her hands tightened. “We’ll find a way,” he repeated, his voice resolute. “Together.”

Their moment was interrupted by a servant announcing the King’s arrival. The air seemed to grow heavier as the Vampire King strode into the room, his presence commanding attention. His eyes swept over the couple, satisfaction gleaming in their crimson depths.

“How beautiful,” he said, his voice dripping with mockery. “The future King and Queen, standing together in defiance. How poetic.”

Adrian rose to his feet, his body taut with tension. “This isn’t over,” he said, his voice low and dangerous.

The King’s smile widened. “Oh, Adrian. It’s only just begun.” He turned to Misery, his gaze lingering on her. “You’ll be radiant, my dear. The entire kingdom will celebrate your union.”

Misery’s stomach churned at his words, her hand instinctively going to her belly. Adrian stepped protectively in front of her, his glare unwavering.

As the King left, his laughter echoing through the halls, Adrian turned back to Misery. Their bond, once forged in mistrust and shared defiance, now felt unbreakable as they faced the grim reality of their situation.

“Stay strong,” he said, his voice a whisper. “For both of us.”

Misery nodded, her resolve hardening as she placed a hand over his. “We’ll survive this. Somehow.”
