The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

The Child of Two Worlds

Ch. 490 / 790 May 05, 2026

The room was silent for a moment, the tension so thick it was suffocating. Then, the faint cry of a newborn broke through, fragile but insistent. The sound was like a spark in the darkness, drawing the attention of everyone in the room.

Misery’s sobs filled the air as the midwives carefully wrapped the baby in a soft blanket before bringing her to her mother.

Misery’s hands trembled as she reached for her child, her voice barely above a whisper.

“She’s so small.”

The infant squirmed in her arms, her tiny fists trembling as she let out another weak cry. Misery held her close, tears streaming down her face as relief and exhaustion overwhelmed her.

“She’s here,” she murmured, her voice thick with emotion. “She’s really here.”

Adrian knelt beside her, his gaze fixed on the newborn. His hardened features softened as he took in the sight of the tiny, delicate life Misery cradled against her chest.

“She’s beautiful,” he said quietly, his voice filled with awe. His hand brushed against the baby’s cheek, the touch so gentle it was almost reverent.

The child’s cries subsided as she nestled closer to Misery, her tiny breaths warming the space between them. Misery looked down at her daughter, her eyes filled with a mix of fear and fierce determination.

“She’s mine,” she said, her voice trembling but resolute. “We have to protect her.”

Adrian’s gaze met hers, and for a moment, the weight of their shared purpose hung between them.

“We will,” he said. “I made you a promise, Misery. No one will take her from you.”

Misery nodded, her tears falling onto the blanket as she pressed a kiss to her daughter’s forehead.

“She’s ours to protect,” she whispered. “And no one will hurt her.”

The midwives moved quietly around them, cleaning the room and tending to Misery’s wounds, but the atmosphere had shifted. There was a fragile peace in the air, a reprieve from the storm that surrounded them.

Adrian sat beside Misery, his hand resting gently on her shoulder as they both stared down at the child who had become their world.

The baby’s faint breaths and tiny movements were a reminder of how delicate life could be—and how fiercely they would fight to keep it safe.
