A day turned into two.
Faith shut her eyes closed for a moment before clicking on the button to submit her resignation letter.
There, it was done!
Never would she have thought this was how she would leave the company. Dan would have finally been happy since it had always been what he wanted, Faith thought with a shake of her head.
Why did life feel so complicated?
Was it weird that she had not been sad about her boyfriend's break up but there was a twinge in her chest as she realized that she had no reason to ever see her boss again?
Why each time she closed her eyes, the memories of she and him__waking up in his bed__ the way he had completely filled her, his lips leaving sloppy kisses along the side of her neck___
"Snap out of it you fool!!" Faith gritted to herself in annoyance.
She had left his presence but he refused to leave her mind.
He had successfully managed to take up the spaces inside her head.
Starting to look for a new job would be a good idea, the bills wouldn't be listening to any excuses at the end of the month.
Her cellphone suddenly rang and Faith jumped.
It couldn't be Sterling Hunter calling her, right?
Was he calling because of the resignation letter? She bit her lips and stared at her cellphone a few distances away, she had never been so nervous to answer a phone call as she did now.
Faith grabbed the phone from the table and stared at the screen, it wasn't Sterling Hunter.
A quiet sigh escaped her mouth, was she disappointed? Of course not! Why would she be?
Her heart quivered with anxiety when she realized that it was the hospital calling.

Faith stared at Dr. Ben, he was in charge of her mother's treatment, why did he ask to meet with her personally?
"No need to be tensed, your mother is completely fine!" He assured her with a smile, Faith released the breath she had been holding. If her mother was alright then___
"I want to talk to you about her treatment, There's a specialist who is coming from overseas, I addressed your mother's health situation to him, and guess what? He agreed to take on your mother's treatment! There's a big chance she will fully recover from stroke and walk again!"
"Are you sure of what you're saying?" Faith stared at Dr. Ben in disbelief, after all the treatments her mother had undergone, she had completely lost hope that her mother would ever regain her health.
Could she dare raise her hopes high with this news?
Why did it sound too good to be true?
"You can be assured, there's only one issue, which is the money needed for the therapy."
The doctor wrote down the details, Faith stared at the amount in shock, where would she get that kind of money in this short time?
Even all of her savings would not amount to half the price, not to mention that she currently had no job.
"I don't have this amount of money, can I pay it on a monthly fee until it's completed?" She tried to appeal to the doctor who gave her an apologetic stare.
"I really wish I could help you, but my hands are tied, if you can't gather the money, then I'm afraid that this opportunity won't come so easily again."

Faith was tired.
She had vowed to get the money but it was turning out to be an impossible task. Half a million dollars wasn't a small amount of money, her first thought had been to go to the bank.
She would take a loan, she could use their family house as collateral.
"I'm sorry but we can't approve your loan, know you have your papers, but we are now strict in lending out money. We can't entrust you with that amount, you also currently don't have a job and no other stable source of income, how do you suppose to pay us back?"
Why did they always have the same response?
The people in the several banks she went to seemed to be kind and friendly until they heard her name and their expression would change.
Or maybe she was just overthinking it?
"I'm in desperate need of the money, I'm also getting a job soon, I'll be able to pay back!"
The woman opposite Faith shook her head, her lips compressing into a thin line.
"I understand how you feel and your situation and we're deeply sorry but we really cannot help you!"
Once again, Faith's heart was crushed with disappointment. The feeling of failure weighed down on her shoulders
Maybe she could try again tomorrow, but what difference would it make? More than six banks refuse to even hear her out today alone.
She inhaled deeply, maybe she shouldn't have handed her resignation so quickly, if she still had a job maybe the bank administrators would have been inclined to approve the loan.
If she was still working at the company, it would have been very easy to apply for a loan.
No, what was she thinking?
She couldn't be regretting leaving the company so soon, she also wasn't contemplating asking Sterling Hunter for help, right?
No, she wouldn't!
She still had some of her dignity left at least and would die before begging him for assistance.
She would have to get the money by relying on herself.
The question was how?
Even the banks wouldn't help her.
