It was Sunday, and Faith didn't have to worry about preparing for work. She pushed off her bedcovers and walked to the bathroom to do her business.
She walked out of the bathroom only to hear her name being yelled aloud.
"Faith! How could you not tell me?!" Natalie shouted, breaking into the bedroom. Faith shot her friend a confused stare, she was concerned about Natalie's flustered look.
"Tell you what?"
"Don't even try to deny it, it's all over the news, I'm confused, since when did you and Dan break up and you caught the bigger fish!" Natalie exclaimed and Faith was even more confused.
"What news?" Faith asked only for Natalie to shove her phone in front of Faith. It took several seconds to read through the headline. The blood drained out of her face when she saw the photos behind it. She recognized them instantly. One photo had her sitting on Sterling Hunter's thigh, from the spot it was taken, it seemed as though they were locked in an intimate kiss. The other photo was taken when she was entering his car.
The headline was saying she and Sterling Hunter had been in a secret relationship for the past four years!
Faith's hands shook, and her eyes were starting to well up with tears.
"This isn't true! Nothing of such happened!" Faith cried.
" It's all wrong, I only went there because he was drunk, I tripped and that's all, my boss only took me home because it was late, who could have made such a horrible and misleading article!" She yelled, almost smacking Natalie's phone away.
"Are you saying this is wrong?"
"Exactly!!" Faith yelled at her friend, she paced around the room anxiously.
"Then, there's no need to be worried about it, it's the useless bloggers as usual! Don't be so stressed." Natalie tried to console her friend.
"How could they do this? Oh god! What if Dan sees this? He was already so distrustful!" Faith buried her face into her palms and Natalie placed a comforting hand on her shoulders.
"I'm sure he will understand if you explain it to him, please don't cry, it isn't a big situation."
"No! You don't get it! Dan won't believe me! What about Mr. Hunter, so many women have publicized themselves being in a relationship with him in the past, what if he thinks that I did this? " Faith panicked at the thought.
"Now, you're taking it too far! Calm down, girl! It's just an article, too bad all the blogs decided to carry and spread fake news, I'm sure that when you talk it out with Dan and your boss, everything will be sorted out, I'll go prepare breakfast for us, alright?"
Natalie walked out of the room and faith released a shaky breath, wiping her eyes with her sleeves.
As she thought about it, a suspicious feeling prickled her heart, the pictures had been taken from closed proximity, how was it possible that neither she nor Sterling Hunter had noticed?

Faith was overly conscious of the whispers and stares she got from her colleagues as she entered the company.
Her lips were pressed together, she was starting to head toward her office when Darla walked past her.
"Slut!" She muttered loud enough for Faith to hear.
"What did you just say?" Faith turned to meet her stare which was filled with disgust.
"Don't even try to pretend now! and don't think I'm scared of you because you are the boss' fuck toy!" Darla spat.
Faith met her gaze and smiled calmly despite the rage fuming in her heart, she took a step towards Darla who moved backward, staring at her warily.
"Aww, are you having a bad day? I know you're hurt and jealous, it must be hard to accept that no one wants you!" Faith spoke and Darla's eyes flared furiously.
"But then again, who would want such a bittered envious person like you?"
Faith walked away before Darla got the chance to respond.
She inhaled deeply and breathed out shakily, she was no doubt the gossip of the whole company today.
Dan hadn't called her since yesterday, she didn't call him either, there was no need because she knew they were only going to fight again.
Faith knocked on Sterling Hunter's door and heard his deep voice a second later.
"Enter"
Sterling's breath caught in his throat the moment Faith entered, she was a bit pale, there were dark circles beneath her eyes but it didn't flaw her beauty, or maybe it was because she could never be ugly in his eyes.
He watched as she gracefully walked closer to him, toying with her fingers was the evidence to Sterling that she was nervous.
"Good Morning, sir" She didn't sound enthusiastic as before. Sterling noted how she opened her mouth, then closed it. The action repeated a few times as if she was contemplating how to speak to him. Sterling already knew what was in her mind, hell, he was eager for her to speak.
"Sir, did you see the article?" She started. Sterling wore his best neutral look.
"What article are you talking about Ms. Jameson?"
Sterling watched her throat work as she swallowed down, why was the action so enticing to him? He was fantasizing about something else which turned his manhood stiff in his pants.
He groaned inwardly, he shouldn't continue to torture himself like this, at least for now but he still couldn't control his thoughts.
He blinked when she placed her cellphone on his desk.
"We are both on front-page news! H_how could they publish such lies!" Her face turned red in either anger or embarrassment.
Sterling stared at the photos on her phone, His favorite was the one she sat on his thighs.
He noticed she was waiting for his reaction and he creased his brow in a frown. "This is not the first time the media had published fabrications of lies about me, I didn't expect you would be dragged into it!" He gritted, managing to sound upset.
"I won't let them go this time! I'm going to fucking sue the bullshit journalists! Just give me some minutes, I'll have their websites closed for good!" He met her relieved look and felt an ache in his chest, she was staring at him like some savior shit, little would she know ___ Sterling thought.
"Thank you." She whispered and Sterling groaned inwardly.
Didn't she know that starting at him with those wide eyes filled with gratitude made him feel guilty, and at the same time he wanted to fuck her. Hard.
To be so deep inside her, his balls fucking ached.
The desire thriving in his blood made the guilty feeling disappear.
She was his
He was only going to ensure that she remained rightfully so.
"There's no need to thank me, I won't forgive anyone who tarnishes your reputation, Ms. Jameson, did you forget that your image also represents me?"
She nodded slowly and met his stare shortly.
"I still want to thank you, everything has been going wrong lately, everyone thinks I got into this position by doing despicable things with you___" Faith inhaled sharply when Sterling approached her, she met his stare and felt a dull ache in the bottom of her stomach.
"Rumors go away with time, Ms. Jameson, you and I both know the truth, why should another's opinion matter?"
Faith managed another nod. She stared at her boss feeling her eyes brimming up with tears, once again he was trying to make her feel better.
He could be so cold, but he was also very warm. How could Dan ever think this man in front of her bore evil intents?
"I can only hope that this news didn't affect your relationship in any way?" Faith looked up to see Sterling watching her so intently, she was surprised by his statement, he was the one who wanted no talks about her relationship within the office.
"I understand you are still human Faith, since I don't want your personal business to affect your professional life, I can still sympathize with the situation you're currently trapped in."
Faith clutched her fingers together, " Things have been going so wrong lately, we haven't spoken since this article was published, I'm just scared that he might believe the lies!"
Faith didn't know what prompted her to tell the truth to her boss, why did she have to go into such detail?!
"If he doesn't trust you, then he doesn't deserve you! You don't need him in your life! I can get rid of him for you for good!"
Faith's mouth went agape, was her boss being protective about her? Why did the thought melt her heart?
"There's no need, we will sort out our issues together, thank you for your concern though!" She smiled.
