Pregnant Billionaire Heiress Gave Birth To Twins

The specialist arrived

Ch. 220 / 286 Apr 29, 2026

Jethro stepped forward and looked at the doctor right in the eyes. "We don't need to continue fighting over this. Do the needful by allowing him. I trust the nurse. Desmond will not hurt my dad when he knows there will be consequences."

“Don't say never. You have to know how you trust people. If something happens to Sir Orton under his care, guess who takes the blame? Me and the hospital. For this, I will not let that happen.” The doctor said, and the frustrated nurse tried to speak up again. “Doctor—” But the doctor quickly stopped her. "Will you keep quiet? Enough of this nonsense. I will not let an unlicensed man experiment on Sir Orton. We have protocols.”

The nurse flinched slightly and went back to her shell. Then Dr. Maxwell leveled his gaze on Desmond with an unreadable expression. “Listen, young man. I don’t care what you have done before. A specialist is on his way, and that’s who will be treating Sir Orton. Not you.”

Desmond exhaled quietly. He doesn't want to argue with the doctor. He has no right to say anything. He is not licensed or the owner of the hospital, and he wasn’t there to prove himself to the doctor. He was there to help.

But looking at Anabel’s burning hostility and the doctor’s unwavering refusal, it became clear that no matter how much he wanted to step in, they wouldn't let him. And Sir Orton’s time was slipping away.

At this point, Jethro began to feel frustrated. His father’s condition was worsening by the second, and all he could do was watch helplessly as the doctor continued to insist that they wait—wait for someone they weren’t even sure was coming.

“We can’t keep waiting, Doctor.” Jethro said in both anger and desperation. “Let's forget about licenses and who is getting into trouble. Someone is dying, which is irreplaceable. We have an option here. We have someone right here who can help. Someone who might be able to do something now. Why are we ignoring that? Why wait for someone I'm not even sure is coming?”

Dr. Maxwell sighed and crossed his arms as he held his ground. “If you are so desperate to let Desmond treat your father, then take your father out of this hospital."

"I should take my father out of the hospital?" Jethro asked.

"You heard me, Jethro. I'm tired of all this nonsense. I will not allow you to spoil the reputation of this hospital with your stubbornness. Take your father out of the hospital. Go somewhere else and have him treated by whoever you want. I will advise you to take him back to the mansion."

Jethro knew that wasn’t an option. Sir Orton was on life support. If they removed him from it, he wouldn’t even survive the trip to the mansion.

"Are you threatening me?" Jethro asked.

"I'm giving you a better option." The doctor replied.

"But both of us know that my dad will die if you remove the life-supporting machine."

"I'm just giving you the options since you want to go against the hospital's rules."

“So that’s it?” Jethro snapped. “You’re just going to let him die instead of giving him every chance?” He asked, and Dr. Maxwell didn’t respond. He was tired of exchanging words with him. Jethro kept pushing, kept arguing, but the doctor refused to budge.

Then...the door opened. Everyone turned at the same time. It was the man who they had been waiting for. The specialist.

It was as if relief itself had walked into the room. His presence was almost divine, like a miracle had come to heal their father at the final hour.

“I’m deeply sorry for the delay." The specialist apologized immediately, scanning the room with a professional calmness. “There were unexpected circumstances, but I’m here now.”

The air somehow shifted. The desperation in the room turned into hope. All eyes locked onto the man who had been promised as their savior.
