Vayne's POV
"Vayne, don't worry. I've arranged for Bard to guard the palace before coming here, so if anything happens, they certainly won't sit around and do nothing."
Perhaps sensing my urgency, Talon spoke to comfort me. The Bard he mentioned was none other than the giant werewolf who had made a killing earlier.
"Kyan would have prepared a complete countermeasure if he intended to plot a rebellion. Earlier, when I was trapped, I deliberately made a loud noise, but there was a delay in providing reinforcements. That means Alpha is also in trouble on his own right now."
While Talon's words grounded me slightly, the predicament at hand was not to be underestimated. I kept silent and accelerated towards the group.
Some distance away from the palace, I could hear the sounds of rushing and killing in the sky, and the air was filled with the heavy smell of smoke and the faint odor of blood. This deepened my concern; Kyan and the Blackmoon Pack's collusion had obviously been premeditated for a long time, and moving me away from the battle circle was an important part of their plan.
"Don't struggle, Zed. I didn't realize that these troublemakers who came earlier would be your reinforcements, but in this situation, you'd be better off with your hands tied," I heard Kyan's sardonic laughter as I approached the camp.
He stood on a high platform, his clothes a bit tattered, with an obvious penetrating wound on his shoulder. Despite this, his face radiated smugness, as if he were about to fulfill his plan.
"You're a despicable villain, conspiring with other groups to plot against us. You have truly disgraced our Fullmoon Pack's name," Zed stood not far away from Kyan, looking at him. While there were no obvious scars on his body, the fatigue on his face was evident. Next to Zed stood Bard, a tower of steel, his cold eyes fixed on Kyan, his shirt covered in dried blood stains.
It was clear that it was all the blood of the enemy.
"At this juncture, you're still harping on these jokes. As the Alpha of the Fullmoon pack, take a look at what the pack has evolved into under your leadership. Clearly, there's a method that can enhance your strength, but you still consider the camaraderie you share; it's simply ludicrous!"
Kyan growled at Zed, brimming with indignation. His expression appeared particularly grotesque under the scorching sun.
"I strongly advise you to surrender early. Still holding onto thoughts of Vayne returning? Let me enlighten you—she was kill by my men a long time ago!"
Kyan emitted a contemptuous laugh, then positioned himself in the crowd and waved his arm. Soon after, his men became bewildered and gradually approached Zed.
Kyan's words caused Zed's face to change, but he quickly regained composure and stood up. The anger in his eyes resembled substantial flames directed at Kyan.
"Who says I was killed?"
As the swords were drawn, I leaped onto the high platform, teasingly looking at Kyan and shouting.
"How...how is that possible? What did you do to Karma?"
Observing my arrival, Kyan's eyes widened in shock. The satisfaction he had just felt vanished, his face instantly turned ugly, and his speech became stammered.
"Karma? Huh?"
I didn't directly answer Kyan's question but instead sneered, leaving him room for contemplation.
"Vayne, it's great that you're okay."
Zed rejoiced at my appearance, but his expression became slightly awkward when he noticed Talon behind me. He nodded gently towards Talon.
"Alpha."
Bard, who had been silent on the sidelines for a while, greeted Talon sullenly before briefly focusing on me and then returning his gaze to Kyan.
Talon and I clearly disrupted the delicate balance, causing an uncontrolled uproar among the werewolf soldiers who could sense our presence.
"What's the point of panicking? It's just adding two more people, and it's still unknown how much strength they can utilize right now."
The cunning Kyan evidently noticed the scars on Talon and me. After darting at breakneck speeds, which had already depleted most of my physical strength, it was clear that I wouldn't be able to harness 100% of my strength.
Kyan's words instantly eased his people slightly, and they regained the courage to face us.
"Zed, today I'll show you exactly who is qualified to be the alpha of the Fullmoon pack!"
Without hesitation, Kyan transformed into a giant gray wolf. The pupils of his eyes glowed the exact same purple color as mine. Raising his head high, he let out a long roar, stomping on the ground and sending up a cloud of smoke and dust. Taking advantage of the obscured vision, Kyan bared his sharp fangs and unleashed an attack toward me, the closest to him.
I obviously didn't expect Kyan to be so swift, and I'm certain his strike was filled with deep hatred for me. It seemed that ever since my awakening, I had completely disrupted his plans, and my appearance had shattered his last hope.
Kyan knew better than anyone that there was no chance of winning at this point.
In response to Kyan's provocation, I chose to transform. I could feel the wolf inside me yelping in anger, subconsciously letting out an intimidating growl—a natural reaction for a Gamma and a consequence the challenger must face.
Kyan's attack was so powerful that, based on my past strength, it would have been challenging for me to withstand it head-on. Talon, beside me, sensed the situation and lowered his body, ready to transform into a giant wolf to help me block the attack.
But I gently shook my head at him.
"This is our pack's own traitor, so let me handle it."
With that said, I slowly lowered myself to the ground and observed as Kyan grew larger in my eyes. My eyes erupted with a vigorous battle spirit. My entire body was enveloped in a purple glow, and it felt as if my limbs were gradually expanding, filling up with power almost bursting through my flesh.
I desperately needed an outlet to vent this power, and Kyan, attacking towards me, was clearly the best opponent.
"Go to hell!"
Kyan's eyes were filled with bloodthirsty desire as he growled. His mouth opened wide, and his sharp fangs were like a steel blade stabbing straight towards me. I calmly looked at Kyan, who had fallen into madness, and an imperceptible smile appeared at the corner of my mouth.
