Pregnant After Being Marked By The Dangerous Alpha

Chapter 98

Ch. 98 / 113 Apr 24, 2026

Vayne's POV

Darkness enveloped me, an endless void. Struggling to open my eyes, I found myself in the midst of a chaotic world, where everything had become inexplicable.

"Strange, I distinctly remember being stabbed by a dagger. Where exactly am I now?" I mumbled in my mind, but there was no one around to respond. The silence, akin to the stillness of death, surrounded me.

"Could this be hell?" I softly muttered, attempting to discern my surroundings. However, the only response was the dull pounding of my heart. I endeavored to escape the chaos, yet it became evident that I had lost control of my body. No matter how hard I tried, I remained immobilized.

Panic set in.

"Caitlyn!" A sudden call echoed from the distant sky, a soft voice that seemed as distant and unnatural as if I were submerged in water, hearing a call from the shore. Though muffled, the voice held a peculiar familiarity.

Opening my mouth wide, I attempted to respond, but the voice never uttered a second sound. Dazed, I surveyed my surroundings, feeling the darkness gradually engulfing me. My eyelids grew heavier, and I sensed my body descending, as if caught in a cycle of reincarnation within this vast space.

Just as discouragement set in and I prepared to surrender to the descent, a golden light erupted from the distant sky. Like the first rays of the morning sun, it ascended from the horizon, generously illuminating the world. Accompanying this radiance, the previous call resonated once again, louder and more urgent than before, as if it were right in my ears.

I struggled to open my arms, attempting to embrace the golden light. As it swept over my body, I instantly felt the warmth in my surroundings, and my pupils flashed with a hint of the same violet light.

I closed my eyes and soaked in the warm, golden light. The warmth enveloped my surroundings, causing the aches and pains in my body to fade away, while I sensed something inside me slowly disintegrating.

"Caitlyn!"

The coarse voice sounded once again, almost piercing through my eardrums. Even though I didn't know who it was, I could truly feel the pain tearing through his heart.

"Hello?"

I tried to call out, but the conversation abruptly ended just after my words left my mouth. A blurry figure slowly emerged in my mind—I could make out his broad back, tall shoulders, and even catch a faint hint of his smell.

However, no matter how hard I tried, I could never remember his name or see his face.

My brain felt like it was about to split open, and agonizing emotions poured in like crazy, finding a gaping hole. I clutched my head to stifle an agonizing moan.

Just when I felt my entire being might be unable to bear it, the glow wrapped around me once again. Along with it came a brightly glowing mass of light, with some moving images vaguely visible.

Attempting to get closer, I realized each light mass contained a man and a woman, looking extraordinarily intimate—obviously a pair of mates. When the woman twisted her head around, I realized she had the exact same face as me.

Before I could be shocked, the image shifted to the woman lying naked on the bed, with a man with a handsome face pressed on top of her.

The man was gasping for air, and the muffled grunts that occasionally escaped were evidently from the same person who had just called out the name.

Suddenly, the scene shifted: the woman stood in the center of a group of children, singing with a smile on her face. In the distance, the man also stood, looking at her with a smile. The woman slowly approached, placing a handmade garland on the man's head.

As I watched the scene unfold before me, for some inexplicable reason, my heart was flooded with a mix of sour warmth, and my eyes gradually became a little misty. The man found himself surrounded by a group of werewolf soldiers, and the woman beside him transformed into a white giant wolf, fiercely protecting him with poignant and determined eyes.

"Caitlyn," the man chanted the name once again. My chest had long been filled with a warm glow, and the man's handsome face slowly became clear.

The ever-changing mass of light before my eyes projected like a movie, and after the projection ended, my heart filled up bit by bit. The missing part that was once absent in my heart was slowly returning. I realized what I had lost earlier. It was something that only between two people and make them can embrace the entire world.

Its name was love.

As I finished looking at all the clusters of light with tears in my eyes, they silently hovered in the air. Then, as if receiving some kind of instruction, they exploded together, filling the chaotic space instantly with flying lights in the sky.

It wasn't until this moment that I finally remembered the name the man had been calling out. I was Caitlyn, and my faithful mate was none other than Talon, who had always watched over me.

A gentle and warm pain came from the back of my neck at this moment.

And I knew it was the mark Talon left on my neck before. It came back now, and the bond between Talon and I connected again.

Bathed in a holy light, a massive source of light appeared above my head, so bright that I couldn't open my eyes. My body slowly moved closer to it.

"I'm sorry, Caitlyn. I was too impulsive. I shouldn't have rushed over here so recklessly. It seems I really am as useless as I was before," Talon's sad voice rang out again, this time with a sobbing tone.

"Please wake up. Even if you forget who I am, I'll work twice as hard to make you love me again, I swear!" Talon's voice was firm and resolute. At that moment, I felt like a drowning man who had finally grasped the straw that would save him.

Upon hearing Talon's words, I struggled to open my eyes.

"Really?" With a long-lost smile on my face, I looked at Talon who was guarding me with a concerned expression.
