Talon's POV
"Talon, as the Alpha of the pack, what you're doing right now is incredibly irresponsible. You mustn't forget the duty that rests upon your shoulders. There's simply no time for you to play so called love game anymore," Yone chided me, his tone subdued, ignoring my anger.
"Who are you to dictate my actions? Don't forget your own place."
Be questioned by Yone, my frustration grew.
"I'm sorry, but I can't stand to witness the pack’s decline. Almost every aspect of the current situation is controlled by Tryndamere. He's reaching out to numerous packs covertly. In the end, we'll be left passive when we finally launch our offensive. We should have acted sooner instead of wasting time here for a useless werewolf."
Yone bristled at my words. "Firstly, he's not just a useless werewolf. He used to be my father’s most loyal subordinate and he's Caitlyn's father. I won't allow any harm to come to him."
"But he once deserted us!"
Yone seemed taken aback, his anger still evident.
I understood his emotions well; Pantheon had been Yone's mentor and role model. However, when Pantheon defected and left without a trace, it left a lasting wound on Yone.
"He had his reasons. Tryndamere coerced him, and he had no choice at that time," I explained to Yone after realizing the truth.
"I don't care. He's the reason that caused your father’s death, and now he’s paying the price!"
Yone’s frustration with Pantheon's sudden departure led him to stop my rescue to Pantheon.
"You're being narrow-minded. Pantheon is not just Caitlyn's father; he can be a great asset to us. If we succeed in freeing him, his vendetta against Tryndamere would made him serve our plan."
"Really?" Yone's skepticism was evident, but I knew he understood Pantheon's potential power better than anyone.
"But he's been abandoned for so many years and is so old, I'm afraid he's long become a useless old man by now, or else according to Fandom's methods, I doubt that the Pantheon, once revered, would still require our rescue."
Yone shook his head gently, and the look he gave me expressed skepticism.
"That's because you're the one holding him captive!"
As soon as the words left my mouth, I felt a sudden sensation as if my heart had been violently gripped by something.
This was Caitlyn's confused reaction; at that moment, I didn't know what she was going through and seemed extraordinarily agitated.
Earlier, Bard had actually managed to free the trapped Leona with his own strength, but Caitlyn had not been heard from yet.
But if I rushed over there now, Yone would be even less likely to leak news about Pantheon to me.
"I'm doing this for his own good. At least he's alive now; if he were caught by Fandom, he wouldn't be so lucky."
Yone's expression exuded a hint of disdain.
"You'd better release Pantheon now, or when Caitlyn finds out, she'll never done with you."
I took a deep breath. Yone's unauthorized actions had also put me in a difficult position, and I almost shuddered at the thought of what Caitlyn would do if she found out that Yone was the one holding her father captive.
"Caitlyn? Pantheon’s daughter? She’s truly different, but she's too vulnerable right now. If you truly care for her, I wouldn't advise involving her in your revenge."
Yone said, looking at me seriously.
"That's your opinion, but you don't truly understand Caitlyn. Initially, she was just a weak human, but with her hard work, she can now stand shoulder to shoulder with me. Give her a bit more time, and I’m sure that she will surpass everyone!"
The corners of my mouth couldn't help but lift in a smile at the mention of Caitlyn's name.
"But what we need most right now is time. I advise you not to waste any more time on Caitlyn. We've already delayed for too long. If we wait until Tryndamere's plan is complete, we'll have absolutely no chance of winning!"
Yone looked up at me, his eyes filled with determination.
"You know, I have no intention of taking action against you. So I advise you to release Pantheon sooner rather than later, before Caitlyn becomes angry. That's my advice."
I let out a long sigh and slowly narrowed my eyes.
"Caitlyn again, I see you're completely mesmerized by her. There's only one way to find out where Pantheon is."
"What's that?"
"Leave Caitlyn!"
Yone practically bellowed the words, his determination palpable.
"That's not possible!"
I instinctively protested, almost reflexively.
If the man in front of me now weren't Yone, I might have succumbed to my rage, transforming into a wolf and snapping his neck in a single bite. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, he was Yone—everything he did was for me, for our pack.
"Caitlyn is my mate. We can't be separated."
I clenched my teeth, suppressing my anger.
"Then at least don't delay any longer because of her. I need you to make a promise—for your own sake and for the sake of your father."
Yone's tone softened as he sensed my mood.
"Fine… I agree."
I took a deep breath and pretended to reluctantly concede. Yone seemed surprised by my quick agreement, scrutinizing my expression for any signs of deceit.
"Now, tell me where Pantheon is."
I tried to regain my usual cold demeanor, avoiding Yone's scrutiny.
"Fandom may have searched for Pantheon throughout the whole city because of you, but he never suspected that Pantheon was hidden in the palace by me."
Yone's face lit up with a hint of cunning as he spoke.
"Alright, now it's your turn to tell me what you plan to do about Caitlyn."
Yone looked up at me expectantly.
"I'll naturally leave after I rescue my father, and I won't be involved in any of your affairs!"
Just as I was about to concoct an excuse, Caitlyn's voice suddenly echoed from the corner.
