Lucas’ POV
Fuck.
Here it comes again.
My wolf fucked up, I showed up and cleaned up the shit.
I shifted into myself.
"What the fuck have you done?" I asked my wolf.
There was no response.
Typical.
If passive-aggressive behavior was a fucking competition, my wolf would be the champion of every single match.
Just as he had won every single fight in his life.
I got impatient.
I ripped off the red cobra’s head and threw it on the floor, letting his eyes stare at its own fucking broken neck.
Fucking dog. Good for nothing. Can’t even kill a snake properly.
I lowered my head and looked down at the girl.
There was white foam coming out of her mouth.
Her eyes were bleeding.
Her arms and legs were twitching.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" I asked my wolf, "I let you out for less than a day, and this is what you’ve done?"
There was still no response.
"I’m talking to you. You fucking idiot." This filthy piece of furry junk has already got on my nerves.
"I’ve heard you for the first time." my wolf said in an undertone, "I was just trying to protect her."
"You’ve called this protection?!" I lifted the girl up and removed her gown.
The biting mark was still fresh on her chest, next to the branding mark left by me.
"You’d better get the venom out before the wound heals." my wolf said.
"Oh, really? Now you’re talking. Thank you very much for telling me that. I almost thought you’re completely retarded." I pressed my head over the girl’s chest and sucked the venom out of her chest.
Then, I spat the venom on the ground.
"Some mid-spray got into her eyes. You need to wipe it carefully with echinacea leaves." my wolf said.
"I don’t need to do anything for you! You fucking dog!" I spat again.
The red cobra venom was deadly and I had to get every drop of it out of her body before it reached her heart.
My wolf was quiet for a while, and then he said, "She’ll be permanently blind if you don’t do it. I saw some echinacea on my way here. It’s just…"
"Let her be blind! I’m going to rip off her eyes anyway." I was grumpy.
"It’s just next to the creek." he said.
He just had to finish his sentence.
That’s what Alphas did.
"This is a mistake." I said, "You need discipline."
"And you need anger management training, and you don’t see me complaining about it." he said, "Stop being a child and collect yourself. Save her before it’s too late. When she’s hurt, you’re getting weak as well."
"I’ll never ever let you out again." I said coldly, "I’ve already got enough on my plate and you’re absolutely not helping."
"A true Alpha always gets the right amount on his plate. They never bite off more than they can chew."
Now, he’s giving me a lecture.
Fuck.
I cleaned up the girl’s wound and held her in my arms, quickly ran to the edge of the forest.
The echinacea flowers were light purple, spreading along the side of the creek.
I pulled some leaves, dampened them in the water, and applied to the she-wolf’s eyes.
She looked so pale and tiny. Her limbs stopped twitching, but her body started shivering.
"You need to warm her up. The loss of body temperature will kill her." My wolf said.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you want me to hold her?" I threw away the flowers in my hands and asked.
"Nothing is wrong. She protected me. I can’t let her die." he replied, "And yes, I want you to hold her."
His way of speaking reminded me of Lucian.
But he didn’t have half of the obedience from Lucian, which really vexed me.
"Look at her! She’s so fucking weak! She can’t even protect herself!" I said.
"But she still took the snakebite for me without any hesitation."
"She did that because she’s stupid. She overrated her ability." I rolled my eyes.
"She did that because she’s in love with me." he said.
"You’re fucking impossible! Listen to yourself!" I pulled some reeds and ripped them in halves, imagining the reeds were his neck, "How can a fucking hUman woman fall in love with a fucking four-legged creature like you?! She treats you like fucking her pet! That’s it!"
"She sacrificed her life for me. That’s what women do when they are in love."
His voice was still reserved and calm.
"What do you know about women and love?" I scolded him.
"Yeah, like you’re the expert or something." he said.
I was shocked and literally speechless.
This fucking dog had an incurable attitude problem.
No one in this fucking world dared to cross me like this.
I was in rage. But obviously, the only way I can kill him was to kill myself.
Like all the disagreements we had had in our lives, I shut up and did whatever the fuck he told me to do.
I took up the girl’s body.
She was still unconscious, as cold as a chunk of ice.
"Go to the Moon Cave. Set up a fire to warm her up." he said, "You can’t set up fire here. The rogues will see it and come."
"Since when are you afraid of the rogues?" I held the she-wolf in my arms and walked into the mountain.
"I don’t want to see their clueless hUman faces." he said. "I can only make one friend a day."
"Then make some enemies. Make piles of fucking corpses. Who cares." I wrapped up the girl on my back with vines and started to climb the rocks.
The Moon Cave was located on the top of the mountain.
It took a long time to walk up the swindle mountain path to get there, but I didn’t have the patience.
Climbing up the steep cliff was just faster.
"You can’t just kill random creatures everywhere you go. This isn’t the way that the hUman world works. This isn’t even the way that the animal kingdom works. Violence isn’t the answer to everything." he said.
"I don’t give a fuck about everything that you’ve just said. I don’t care about the ways things work." I said, swinging up from one rock to the other, "There’s only one way in this world. That’s my way. You either shut up and put up with it, or fucking die."
"Yeah, keep doing it your way and see what happens." he said.
"What the fuck do you want to say?!" I asked.
My wolf said, "You’re making too many enemies. It’s dangerous for both of us. When you’re so full of yourself, you get too blind to see. Rouges are very dangerous when they congregate."
"They don’t congregate. That’s why they’re fucking rouges!" I said, pulling myself up.
I flipped in the air and landed at the entrance of the Moon Cave.
I took the girl down from my back and put her down in the cave.
I gathered some branches and flint to start a bonfire.
I looked at the girl sleeping next to the fire.
She was all naked. Her pale skin was plated with a finish of orange and gold by the flame.
Her breasts were shivering while her chest was rising and falling.
Her nipples were as pink as flower petals.
So did her lips.
I suddenly remembered the warmth of the inside of her body, the tenderness of her lips when she kissed me and passed out.
I pressed my body on top of her and got into her body again.
"Does this make you mad?" I asked my wolf, "I can fuck her but you can’t?"
"Is this why you’re exasperated?" he replied, "She has fallen in love with me. Not you."
