Gresyon could feel his anger bubbling uncontrollably within him as he swung purposefully towards his brothers, each blow designed to press them backwards just enough to allow them to get closer to the swirling vortex that had swallowed his mate.
Allen fought desperately beside him, his wolf an impressively sized mass of dark brown fur and viciously wielded teeth that would rival most Alpha's. There was no wonder that he was secure in his position as the Beta of one of the strongest packs in the kingdom. He was a force to be reckoned with in both his human form and in his wolf form.
If she had just stayed in their room there was no way that she would have ever been taken. If it hadn't been for the omega that had asked how we got back so quickly when she had just seen us take Lexi into the forest, then we would never have known that she was in danger.
One thing was for sure, when they got Lexi back, he was never letting her out of his sight again...no matter how much she protested.
"See brother? Having a mate is a weakness," Logan laughed as his claws raked down Greysons chest, leaving an open wound that he barely noticed, "Especially a fucking Daemon half breed…although I'm sure she's wild in the bedroom…perks of the bloodline I suppose."
"Don't fucking speak about her that way. The only weakness I have is having shared blood with you!" Greyson snarled as he dodged another wild slash and sank his claws into Logan's snout furiously.
Logan jumped backwards, clutching his bleeding snout with his twisted fingers and cocked his head to the side, laughing cruelly as Greyson staggered forward wildly, throwing a glance towards Allan who was pressing Sebastian backward just as hard.
"If she hadn't been a fucking half breed, then she wouldn't have fallen for our little ploy quite so easily," He snorted as he dodged out of range of another wild swipe, "She would have noticed our scent was different, although, perhaps the flesh crafter managed to mimic that too. I may have to try that potion again on another unsuspecting couple." He smirked wickedly.
As Logan's chest heaved with each breath and his muscles burned with the exertion of this encounter, he had to admit, that he had vastly underestimated Greyson's capabilities and relying on provoking his anger was the only hope that he had of standing a chance of distracting him long enough for him to make a mistake that he could potentially use to his advantage.
He wasn't as slow as he remembered and his strength had increased along with his viciousness. In years gone past, Logan and Sebastian would easily have had him submitting by now, but something had changed…and he was starting to doubt that he and Sebastian could handle this without being seriously injured.
His eyes slid across to Sebastian and he saw the same disbelief and frustration mixed in with fury on his face as he fought with the enormous agile wolf that snapped and tore furiously at every opening, leaving wounds that gaped and oozed blood with every movement.
"All of this for a whore…" Sebastian snarled as his claws sank into the wolf's shoulder, pulling a yelp from the disgusting beast before it twisted itself free and sank its jaws into the flesh around his knuckles, leaving only his thumb free.
Sebastian roared in outrage as Allen's wolf, Orvar, snarled in satisfaction, tensing his jaws as he felt his teeth slide through the tough flesh and connect easily.
With a toss of his head, the fingers were severed from his hand, leaving Sebastian howling furiously as he staggered backward, staring at his hand in disbelief.
"Good job Orvar!" Allen praised his wolf as Orvar rumbled in agreement, "We can't let up. Go after him…whatever it takes! We have to get through that portal!"
"I won't let our mate down. I WILL get us to her and if I can't kill these fuckers today," Orvar smirked darkly, "Then when she is safe, I will make it my mission to find them and take my time in pulling them apart, piece by bloody piece."
Orvar threw his head back to the sky, his howl of challenge sending spikes of cold dread piercing through their bodies as he charged forward, his rage filled gaze connecting with Sebastian's fear filled eyes.
He froze for a second, before turning and running from the furious specter that barrelled towards him without mercy.
"YOU FUCKING COWARD! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Logan screamed in fury, "Stand and face him! It's just a fucking wolf! They are vermin! They are no match for Lycans! They… AAARGH!"
The scream of pain that emanated from his snout was quickly silenced as Greyson's snarling face appeared level with his own.
Greyson's claws had pierced through the base of Logan's jaw and clamped his mouth shut, his fingers piercing painfully into the top of his snout and pressing into his wound as his thumb held his jaw in place.
"It's not good to be distracted now, is it brother?" Greyson smirked as his free hand closed around his throat.
Allen had successfully chased Sebastian away and stood anxiously at the rapidly closing portal, now no bigger than a small window, and huffing impatiently in his direction.
"Shhhh," Greyson murmured as he forced him backward, coming to a stop just next to the portal, "You have to understand, brother, I can't let this slide. Not only have you engineered the kidnap of my mate, but you have insulted her and her other mate…THEY are my family…my chosen blood…something that you will never be."
Logan's muffled protests fell on deaf ears as Greyson's face twisted into a picture of sinister rage.
"I've kept my beast subdued for so long brother, but you…you had to force my hand." Greyson laughed as Allen's wolf whined anxiously, tossing his head towards the portal.
Greyson snorted and rolled his eyes as he understood his impatience.
"You should thank my friend, Logan, It appears he's saved you from the slow death that I so desperately want to give to you." He sneered as Logan's eyes seemed to fill with hope with a brief second, "So I'll make this quick."
The flash of realization of his certain demise in his eyes was snuffed out in seconds as Greyson's fingers tore through his neck, ripping a large chunk of his flesh free before throwing him to the floor, taking a second to smile to himself as he watched him bleed out amidst the dirt and leaves that blanketed the forest floor.
As his gaze met that of Allen's wolf, he was positive that if the beast had eyebrows of any sort, then they would have been raised in disapproval at him right now.
"I could have taken a lot longer, and yes…it was completely necessary." Greyson mumbled as he rolled his shoulders, forcing his beast to recede and his body to transition back, "Stop looking at me like that, lets go…the longer we stay here, the less time we have to find Lexi."
Allen's wolf huffed at him and whined lowly, as if unhappy with him before turning and launching himself into the swirling black mass that hung rather limply in the air.
Greyson snorted to himself as he took a deep breath and shook his head.
"The things I do for that woman…" He muttered as he too, dove headfirst into the unknown.
