Lexi's whole body had frozen in the doorway as the doors opened and revealed yet another cavernous room. The only difference was, at the far end of the room sat a massive throne with a figure sat lounging in the seat, with one leg thrown haphazardly over the side.
Narcissa pushed her forward with an impatient sigh, shoving her roughly between the shoulder blades as Lexi's feet struggled to keep up. She had gone into a state of self preservation and her body was simply refusing to obey her commands, her heart beating so quickly that she was bothered it might result in a medical emergency.
From this distance she couldn't clearly make out his face but she remembered it well, and even though she was in a precarious position right now, her mind was filled with thoughts that seemed pretty irrelevant considering what was at stake.
If she did have a heart attack all the way down here, would she have to rely on Narcissa as her surgeon?
How would they even get to her heart with that monstrosity that Narcissa had implanted. Would they break the seal? And wouldn't that free her souls?
What if her souls reacted in her unconscious state and she killed the surgeons? Well…perhaps that wouldn't be such a bad thing if it truly was Narcissa, but she would only come back to life again.
Lexi forwaned at herself, and glanced around her surreptitiously keeping an eye out for the exits as they walked but, much to her dismay, there only seemed to be 2 doors to this chamber, the one that they had just entered by and the one that sat directly behind where the man reclined on the throne.
The smoke from the braziers was unnaturally sweet, almost cloying and had the distinct scent of Applewood to it that clung to her like a shroud as they moved closer to the throne.
"There's no way out now little whore," Narcissa hissed quietly from behind her, the smirk that she wore on her face plain to hear in her voice.
Lexi didn't reply, and tilted her chin upwards slightly, hoping to give the illusion of confidence even though she was a wreck inside, as they came to a standstill in front of the throne.
She forced herself to meet his gaze and as soon as their eyes connected, her defiance crumbled as his pools of amber fire seemed to absorb all resistance from her.
He sat upright and leaned forwards towards her, a smirk playing on his lips that left her with a sense of unease as he rested his chin on his fist and allowed his gaze to travel the length of her body.
"Welcome home, Lexi. It's been a long time…" He said, his voice smooth and rich and sending unwanted shivers down Lexis' spine.
"This is not my home, nor will it ever be," She hissed before she could stop herself, surprised at just how quickly her fire had returned.
He quirked an eyebrow at her and the smirk widened into a smile.
"Still as fiery as ever, I see." He commented dryly as he sighed and leaned back in the throne, "If your father hadn't created this gulf between us, I can assure you that you would feel different."
I can assure you I would not, " Lexi snorted as she heard Narcissa suck in a sharp breath behind her, "You do not get to talk badly about my father for protecting his daughter from her predatory uncle." she continued as her lip pulled back into a disdainful sneer.
"Are you insane?!" Narcissa murmured quietly, "Stop while you're ahead before he makes you regret your fucking words."
"Like I give a fuck. I'm not going to regret speaking the truth," Lexi hissed, rounding on Narcissa furiously, "If he can't handle the truth from someone he claims he loves then he isn't fit to sit on that fucking throne." she continued as she pointed an accusatory finger towards where Eromaug was seated.
"You little..." Narcissa hissed as she lunged towards Lexi, but before she could reach her, a dark figure appeared in front of Lexi and suddenly, she could see nothing but the back of a mountain of muscle and broad shoulders.
"I have warned you time and time again not to touch, or harm what is mine, witch," Eromaug rumbled as his fingers wrapped around Narcissa's throat and he lifted her in the air above him, "What will it take for you to listen?"
She struggled against his grip as he raised her in the air, and despite how she had behaved with Bella when she incinerated her on the spot, there was something vastly different in her eyes when faced with Eromaug's fury.
"You know, you're more badly behaved than some of my most disobedient hellhounds, and they usually get the message after a few punishments," Eromaug hummed thoughtfully as Narcissa's skin under his fingertips began to glow and her eyes became wide with panic, "Is that what you need? More severe punishments?"
Narcissa was clearly in agony as a low, keening cry began to fall from between her lips, and she screwed her eyes shut. Lexi wanted to look away but found herself transfixed with a morbid curiosity.
If he was doing this to anyone else then she would have stepped in to help them…probably. However, because Narcissa had treated her so poorly from the start and delighted in her own pain, she didn't really feel the need to step in. Maybe this was her own personal karma for all of the transgressions that she had committed throughout her life.
"Please…" Narcissa forced out from between clenched teeth, "I'm sorry…it won't happen again…"
"No, it won't," Eromaug answered as he casually tossed her backwards, the movement itself taking little effort, yet propelling her backwards at breakneck speed until she slammed into the wall with a sickening crunch.
Lexi watched her body drop to the floor, landing at an unnatural angle and thought that she should probably go and help her, but then she snorted to herself quietly.
Why should she help her after everything that she had done?
"I apologize for her mistreatment of you." Eromaug said quietly as he turned to Lexi and reached for her, but she stepped back quickly and glared up at his grim smile.
"It's pointless apologizing. You sent for me, you told her to do this. You are just as much to blame for the shit she's put me through as you are." Lexi hissed furiously as Eromaug frowned unhappily.
"Lexi…"
"I don't want to hear it," she snapped angrily as she crossed her arms in front of her, "I don't know what the fuck you expected to achieve from imprisoning me here, Uncle, but whatever it is, I will not roll over and take it like a fucking bitch in heat, do you understand?"
