Lexi glowered at him furiously. She wanted to laugh in his face and tell him he was too fucking late to claim her for himself, thank fuck, because she already had Allen and Greyson and she sure as shit didn't ned a third…ESPECIALLY not her own Uncle.
Even the mere thought of it made her feel physically ill.
Besides, since Narcissa had managed to capture both Allen and Greyson, she got the distinct feeling that if she mentioned anything to Eromaug then he would be heading straight to wherever the bony little bitch was keeping them.
She had already seen what he was capable of doing to a child and she really didn't think that she wanted to see what he would put Allen and Greyson through if she told him.
"You can't force me to love you, you know?" She said shakily as he caged her between the pillar at her back and his broad chest, "Do you even care about how wrong this is? How my father feels about any of this? He's your brother for fucks sake…"
Eromaug's lips curled upwards at the mention of my father and his eyes narrowed slightly.
"My brother?" He snorted lightly as his lips peeled back from his teeth in disdain, "Tell me, Lexi, how much do you know about the Daemon Lords and how they came to be? Do you suppose we all share the same mother? The same father, perhaps?"
Lexi stared at him sullenly without saying a word, hoping that he would step back a little and give her some space if he got himself stuck inside a little monologue. It wouldn't be the first time in history that some psychotic fuckwit that fancied themselves as a villain allowed their desire to gloat overtake the need for watchfulness.
"I'll take your silence as an admission that you do indeed, know nothing about my kind," He said gently, inhaling deeply as he took a step back and Lexi inwardly high fived herself for her intuition.
"The beings that were birthed at the dawn of time sprang from both light, and from dark...but I won't bore you with the full details of our history, there's time enough for that with the Djinn that keep the histories in the Great Library here," Eromaug began with a small smirk, "It's suffice to say that the strongest among us clawed our way to the top, consuming what we could to be bigger, faster, stronger…the best of the best…"
Lexi rolled her eyes and snorted contemptuously.
"Sure, the same old macho-man bullshit but with Daemons. I'm sure that telling yourself you're the baddest of them all really helps you in the areas that you must be lacking."
Eromaug raised an eyebrow as he regarded her quietly.
"I can assure you that I need to compensate for nothing where you are concerned, Lexi." He commented drily as Lexi visibly shuddered, "But we were talking about your father."
"We can talk about anything other than your…appendages..." Lexi spat in disgust.
"Then don't bring it up with your smart little mouth, otherwise I will find a way to put it to use." Eromaug answered darkly before continuing in a more level voice.
"Clearly we all developed differently as time went on and eventually, we began to carve out our own little places…until some of the Daemons became creative and created your realm. It was unheard of…creating your own little pets to watch and amuse yourself with. But as time went on, these little pets became sentient and life evolved. No longer were they mindless creatures with the intelligence of the imps that plague our halls, they became something more."
"Hold up a fucking minute." Lexi snorted in disbelief, "Are you trying to tell me that Daemons created our world?"
"The only thing that separates your so-called Gods and Goddesses from Daemons, is their creative ability when it comes to passing the time during our Aeon long lives." Eromaug smirked.
"I don't believe you," Lexi spat and shook her head.
"Believe me or not, I don't care," Eromaug shrugged, "But why do you think that most of your Gods and Goddesses don't intervene in conflicts on your realms? It's their entertainment! They don't WANT to intervene."
"No…you're wrong. Selene…"
"Selene is a meddlesome little bitch that shouldered her way into a group project just so she could create herself some friends." Eromaug hissed, "Nobody likes her."
Lexi snorted loudly as she grimaced at him.
"So what you're saying is that you're pretty much all a bunch of elitist high school bullies then…"
"What I'm trying to say," Eromaug hissed, clearly a little infuriated by Lexi's sarcasm, before taking a deep breath and continuing in a calmer tone, "is that my so-called brother is not my blood brother…he is simply a fellow Daemon Lord..and because there are so few of us, it is in our interests to band together as allies." he shrugged.
"Don't try and frame this in a way to try and make things less horrifying than they already are. I won't change my mind about you OR about what you want. I don't want this, I don't want you."
To her surprise, Eromaug laughed.
"You know, you really do sound just like your father. He had the same reaction when he discovered that his Eternal was your mother. Thanks to Selene's meddling and Hecate's sense of humor, your humans were gifted with Hecate's magick, purely as a way for your Selene and Hecate to get back at those that had tried to deny them access to this strange new toy. Imagine the shame of being mated to a joke…"
"Stop." Lexi hissed, "Don't taint what I know of my father."
"You really don't know him at all Lexi. Once upon a time your father was a force to be reckoned with and now? Now all he cares about is the realm of your fleshy, fragile little friends. He really was quite distraught when he returned to his realm after a six year old child had accidentally summoned him to punish her parents because they wouldn't let her stay up late for the solstice and promptly discovered that he had found his Eternal in this tiny, petty, shrill little.."
"If my souls weren't bound rightnow I would make you shut up seeing as how you seem to struggle understanding when to stop." Lexi seethed, "Or perhaps I'll have Bella toast you next time you drop in on her."
"She can try, but her fire had no effect the last few times she tried, so why would it now?" He shrugged, "I was only able to create the soul dragon because you are mine, and our realms are unsafe. They are designed purposely to protect you when we are not around and…wait…your souls? As in…two of them?" Eromaug asked, intensely curious.
Lexi blinked stupidly and wondered if she shouldn't have said anything to him about having more than one soul.
"I meant my abilities. Narcissa...bound...them."
Eromaug hummed softly as his eyes ran over her body.
"No, you meant souls, not abilities." He stated matter of factly, as his mouth turned down in displeasure, "This is an unexpected development…"
