I Wanna Ruin Our Friendship

Too Much

Ch. 102 / 162 Apr 09, 2026

Within minutes, the cafeteria had been cleared out, and the police were called. Caleb and Jake were both dragged out, still shouting and glaring at each other as they were escorted away.

I just needed to make it to drive away, and pretend none of this was happening. My mind was racing with everything—the picture, the rumors, the fight in the cafeteria. And Caleb...

But then I saw him.

Logan.

He was leaning against my car, his arms crossed tightly over his chest, his entire body tense. His blue eyes were fixed on me, burning with something I hadn’t seen from him in a long time—anger.

My breath caught in my throat. I stopped mid-step, gripping the strap of my bag so hard my knuckles turned white.

“How could you do this to me?,” Logan said sharply.

The tone of his voice cut through me like a blade. He pushed off the car and closed the distance between us in a few long strides.

“What the hell, Emma?” he spat, his voice low but crackling with fury. “You’re pregnant? And I had to find out like this?”

“Logan, I—”

“No,” he interrupted, his voice rising. “Don’t even start. You’re pregnant, Emma. And it’s Caleb’s? Are you serious right now?”

I opened my mouth to respond, but the words wouldn’t come. My heart pounded in my chest, my head spinning.

“Say something!” Logan demanded, his hands clenching into fists at his sides. “Is it true? Is it Caleb’s kid?”

“I don’t know!” I blurted out, my voice trembling.

Logan froze, his jaw tightening as he stared at me. “You don’t know,” he repeated, his voice quieter but no less furious. “Unbelievable.”

“I was going to tell you,” I whispered, tears welling up in my eyes.

“Oh, you were?” Logan’s laugh was sharp and bitter. “When? After the kid was born? Or after Caleb sent out a goddamn birth announcement?”

“Logan, please—”

“Don’t ‘please’ me, Emma!” he snapped. His voice cracked, and for a brief moment, I saw the hurt behind the anger. “We were together last night, Emma. Last night! And now this?”

My chest tightened. Memories of the night before flooded back—his hands, his lips, the way he whispered my name like it was the only thing that mattered.

“We had the best night of my life yesterday,” Logan continued, his voice dropping into something raw and broken. “And now I find out you’re pregnant? With Caleb’s kid? How the hell am I supposed to process that, Emma?”

“Logan, it’s not like that!”

“Then what is it like?” he snapped, stepping closer. “Because I’m struggling to understand how we went from last night to this in less than twenty-four hours.”

I couldn’t answer. My chest felt like it was caving in, my knees trembling as the weight of his words crushed me.

“Logan, I—” My voice faltered, and the world around me started to tilt.

“Emma?” Logan’s anger faltered, replaced by alarm as I swayed unsteadily. “Emma, what’s wrong?”

I opened my mouth to respond, but the words wouldn’t come. The edges of my vision blurred, and I stumbled forward, clutching at his arm for support.

“Emma!” Logan caught me, his voice panicked now. “Hey, stay with me. What’s happening?”

The last thing I saw was his face—his fear, his worry—before the world went dark.

The sharp pain in my stomach stole my breath, and I doubled over, clutching at my abdomen. And then I felt it—a warm, wet sensation running down my legs.

Logan’s eyes widened in horror as he looked down, his voice rising. “You’re bleeding.”

I tried to speak, to reassure him, but all that came out was a strangled sob.

“Emma, we’re going to the hospital,” he said firmly, scooping me into his arms without hesitation. “Just hang on, okay? Just hang on.”

The drive to the hospital was a blur of flashing lights and Logan’s panicked voice, shouting at people to move faster. I could hear him repeating the same words over and over, as if trying to convince himself it was going to be okay.

“How the hell did this happen?” he muttered, his voice cracking. “How the hell did this happen?”

His words echoed in my head, blending with the sound of the sirens and the rush of footsteps as I was wheeled into the emergency room.

It was the last thing I remembered before everything went black.
