That night, as I lay in bed, I couldn’t help but feel hopeful.
We weren’t where we used to be, but maybe that was okay. Maybe this new beginning, fragile and uncertain as it was, was exactly what we needed.
The memories came flooding back, unbidden.
The way his hands would slide down my body, firm but gentle, leaving trails of heat in their wake. The way his voice would drop to a low, husky whisper, saying things that made my heart race and my skin tingle. The way he’d pull me close, his body pressed against mine, every movement deliberate and consuming.
I felt the heat rise in my chest, spreading down to my core. My breaths quickened, and before I knew it, my hand was sliding down my stomach, brushing against the waistband of my shorts.
I hesitated for a moment, my heart pounding. But the need—the want—was too strong.
As my fingers slipped beneath the fabric, I let my eyes close, surrendering to the memories.
I pictured him the way he looked when he kissed me for the first time, his eyes dark with desire. The way his breath would hitch when I touched him in just the right way. The way his name would spill from my lips when I couldn’t hold back anymore.
My breathing grew heavier, my movements more urgent as the tension built inside me. I could almost hear his voice, feel his touch, taste his lips.
And then, in the haze of my desire, I reached for my phone.
I didn’t think. I just typed.
I can’t stop thinking about you.
I hesitated for a moment, my finger hovering over the send button. But the memory of his touch, his kiss, his body pressed against mine pushed me forward.
I need you. Right now.
I hit send before I could second-guess myself, my heart pounding in my chest as I waited for his reply.
It didn’t take long. My phone buzzed in my hand, and I opened his message with trembling fingers.
What are you doing to me, Emma?
I bit my lip, my cheeks flushing as I typed back.
I’m picturing you, Logan. The way you used to touch me. The way only you could make me feel.
His reply came almost instantly.
You’re driving me insane. Tell me what you want.
I swallowed hard, my body trembling as I typed the words I’d been holding back.
I want you inside me. Right now. I want that kind of sex only we had.
The three little dots appeared, signaling he was typing, and my heart raced as I waited for his response.
You better be ready, Emma. Because I’m on my way.
My breath caught as I read his words, my body reacting to the promise they held.
I set my phone down, my hands shaking as I got out of bed. I didn’t even bother to think about what I was wearing, or how I looked. None of that mattered.
All that mattered was him.
