Accalia was thrilled to have Ethan's lips entangled with her's. She couldn't believe it. Without holding back, she kissed him back. Ethan's hands wrapped her waist in a warm hug as he stared at her after they disentangled from the kiss.
"You are the most beautiful woman,I've set my eyes on", Ethan said calmly to her.
Accalia blushed at his comment. No one made her feel so hopeless like him. Nightfall was already upon them. Ethan held her hands and walked her home.
"So,what is pretty doing tomorrow?", Ethan asked as they walked.
"Hmm..I plan to do some early morning market runs. I haven't produced any oils yet and I want to begin",she replied.
"Ouch! I thought I'll be privileged to be part of your day", Ethan said, holding his chest playfully like he was hurt.
Accalia laughed at his little act and patted his arms. "Well,if you really want to spend time with me, you can come to the house when I'm back and help with the oils. I promise to cook something delicious", Accalia said.
Ethan held his chin thoughtfully as if he was contemplating on her statement which made her laugh. "Alright Ma'am. We have a deal",he said finally and Accalia cooed and cheered.
Soon, they arrived at her home and he walked her to the door. Accalia offered him some coffee but he stated that he had night patrol to do with Gabriel. Ethan promised to return later the next day when he'll be done with administrative work and she might have returned from the market.
He held her chin to look up at him and professed how much he loved her. Accalia placed her hands on his shoulders and kissed him.
"Permit me to leave,my lady", Ethan said bowing slightly at her.
"Although I hate to permit that,I can't help it. You're free to leave dear",she replied giggling.
Ethan stumbled out of her sight scratching the back of his head nervously before disappearing out of sight. Accalia shut her door quietly and laughed to herself, leaning on the door. Ethan's presence was enough to wipe off every anxiety she had felt earlier that day
She didn't know how long she'd have to wait before that monster found her but she didn't care. She had found a home, new family, friends and a lover. Ethan told her he'd give her time before they would get serious.
Who knew that the quiet Ethan who paid no attention to things of the heart was about giving his heart permanently to Accalia Monae?
Ethan's POV
I decided to go to the brook of Eirene, which means Peace. Before now, my thoughts and feelings were my only friend. Of course I had Gabriel but at the end of the day, when everyone else retired home to their loved ones and family,I preferred the brook.
Not that I didn't have a family to return to,it's just that I enjoyed the peace and quiet of the brook. I didn't let anyone know but I was shy to approach any lady,I might have fancied. Besides, there was no one who made me feel special.
So I focused on my job rather than attaching to any female since I wasn't the wild one who wanted to experiment with different women, although I had been faced with a lot of advances from the ladies, like Penney Bob and the others.
Since Accalia moved into her home close to the brook,I became excited. It'll give me an opportunity to be able to see her. I had planned to pay her a visit on the first day,but she was busy painting. Immediately, she felt my presence,I wanted to show up and help her out but Rachel overtook me.
God! I can't stop thinking about this lady. My heart literally aches for her and I find it so hard to express it. Where do I even begin? I could ask Gabriel or her friends for help but that seems childish to me. I have to be man enough.
Barely twenty minutes after I had found myself comfortable in the private corner of the brook, when I heard someone sniffing quietly. I called it a private corner, because it had some sort of shade from the tall trees around.
I peered harder at the stranger in distress and behold,it was my love interest. I was alarmed instantly. What could make her be so sad with no one to soothe her? Where were her friends? Did they hurt her? Or was she attacked?
All the questions at once, yet I found no answer. I threw the pebbles in my hand to approach her, when she heard the sound and took me for a threat. I kept walking towards her and was taken aback at her defensive nature. She was willing to change into a werewolf and attack me, before calling for help.
I was impressed. Some females would want to run and call for help but not this one. She was a strong warrior,I'll say.
She roared as she spoke, demanding for an introduction else she would attack and then I decided to speak up. I would never want to be in a fight with a female. They may be weaker than the male, but when threatened, they expelled a venom into their teeth and it could kill anyone in minutes.
She spoke and I replied. I'm just grateful that I could finally get a chance to speak with her alone. Ending the night by kissing her was a blessing to me.
Accalia returned from the market a little bit later than her timing. Apart from the spices and fragrances she had purchased, she also had to stop by the food market to buy some food items for lunch today with Ethan.
She has already told the girls she would be busy with work,so they wouldn't meet up. Accalia rushed into her store and dropped the bottles of spices on the table before going back to the kitchen.
She wanted to make a hot meal,so she only brewed coffee and the milk and heated up the croissants. While she waited for Ethan's arrival, she decided to begin mixing the oils and fats together. Making fragrances was a complex one. One had to be careful else the fats would sour and the fragrances would give a foul smell.
Accalia placed the fats on the low heat and stirred it gently. When evenly melted she added the fragrance and spices as she turned. She had bought some special herb that served as her secret ingredient.
Accalia finally lowered the pot of fragrance oils down and allowed it to cool off before pouring it into different bottles, ready for sale. It was almost mid-day and she hadn't seen Ethan's shadow. She stared from the window, hoping to see his towering figure walking down.
After waiting for a long time, she began pouring the oils into their bottles. When she was done, she began cooking. She had bought beef, vegetables, cheese and rice from the market. Accalia melted the cheese and fried the chicken before stir-frying them with the fresh vegetables.
She cooked the rice and dished it into plates with the chicken sauce. Accalia arranged the table and placed the new lilac coloured tablecloths he bought at the market. Her vase had been empty since she moved in,so to change that she plucked the fresh tulips at the brook's bank and placed them in the vase.
The flowers brightened the place and the smell of her fragrances filled the entire environment, giving her home a warm and fantastic feeling. Accalia sat by the table and waited for her beau to knock on the door but she didn't hear, till she dozed off.
The crash of a little bottle startled her and she woke up. She rushed to check what caused the crash and saw little pieces of the bottle shattered on the ground, realizing that the bottle wasn't placed well. Accalia took a broom and cleaned up the mess carefully.
She checked her time and two hours had passed without Ethan's arrival. She spooned some of the goods into her mouth and it had turned fairly warm.Disappointed, Accalia poured her food back into her pot, warmed it up and walked out of the kitchen.
She went to the store, counted the bottles of perfumes and oils and decided to go deliver it to potential customers. Perhaps, Ethan was filled with work or had forgotten about her.
