Accalia and Ethan got back to town quite late and they decided she was sleeping over at his place. Helen was arriving in town the next day,so Accalia had to meet her early and try on her dress, before people would flock in to say hello to the Luna of the Northern kingdom.
Accalia got up early,whipped some breakfast for Ethan who was still in bed before dashing out. She was in a hurry. Few steps from arriving at Rachel's home,she saw Helen arrive. She walked with two people who helped her around with her bags.
"Helen! I'm sorry Luna!", Accalia screamed excitedly.
The ladies shared a warm hug and after some time,they disentangled from the hug. Accalia politely greeted the entourage that came with Helen and they bowed respectfully at her. Helen looked glorious and happy.
"Good thing I ran into you first, before the whole town hears that the Queen of the North is here. We should meet up with Rachel inside", Accalia said, taking the bag of clothes from her.
"Right away!", Helen affirmed, taking careful steps behind her. Accalia and Helen walked into the Alpha's home and met one of the staff cleaning the upholstery. They didn't spot Rachel immediately,as she wasn't in the hallway, knitting some patterns, like she loved to.
"Is Luna in?", Helen asked.
"Welcome Miss Helen... sorry, Queen..",the staff said bowing slightly.
"Oh please,spare me that! I'll prefer Mrs Max,if you don't mind", Helen corrected calmly.
"So where is our friend?", Accalia interrupted.
"She's in her room. She has been sick all day ",the staff said and at once, Helen and Accalia were alarmed. They ran to Rachel's bedroom, panicked. Accalia was more surprised, because she was with Rachel,a day before.
The ladies knocked briefly,then when they heard the signal from Alpha Gabriel,they walked in quietly. Alpha Gabriel hugged Helen and asked about Max,who she explained that he came on the wedding day. After the pleasantries,they moved close to Rachel's side.
They sat by Rachel's side after they shared brief hugs. Alpha Gabriel was giving Rachel some potion for relief when she ran off speedily to throw up in the bathroom. Gabriel followed her,he held her hair from behind and patted her back as she strained to spew the uncomfortable contents.
When she was done,she washed her face and walked back slowly to the bed and her friends covered her halfway with the thick duvet as she smiled at them.
"Are you okay?"they asked Rachel at the same time.
"I'm fine. Just been a little sick and tired for some time now", Rachel explained slowly, smiling at them.
Accalia peered harder at Helen and it struck her. She had seen the results of women that felt this way, working as a cook for the several femaleness of the victims,the rogue wolf brought home.
"Are.. you pregnant?", Accalia stuttered fearfully and Helen's head immediately swung to Rachel who nodded.
"Yes dear! We're having a baby!", Rachel squealed softly, looking at Gabriel who was smiling broadly.
"Oh my goodness! Our pack is expecting their first babies from the new Alpha and Luna. This is fantastic!", Accalia clapped in excitement.
"Yes we are! I've been feeling sick and bloated for some weeks now,so after the symptoms kept persisting, Gabriel insisted I be checked this morning and it was confirmed. I'm three weeks gone",she announced.
"Congratulations to you!"Helen said, walking towards Rachel.
"So does the pack know yet?", Accalia asked.
"Not yet! We'll announce it when the wedding is over. As a matter of fact,the kingdom would be hosting the initiation rites of the newly recruited warriors. I'll make the announcement then", Alpha Gabriel said proudly, before he walked out, leaving the ladies to catch up.
"I'm sorry, Helen. I couldn't receive you properly", Rachel apologized.
"Are you kidding me? This is the best welcome news ever. I'm so happy for both of you", Helen replied to Rachel.
"I'm so pumped up to be a mother,ladies. I honestly can't wait. According to the Gamma,the symptoms would vanish after I take the potion", Rachel said pointing to the leftover medicine Gabriel left on the table.
"So back to the bride..when are we trying the dress!", Rachel squealed.
"Right now!", Accalia replied excitedly and took the bag into the bathroom to change.
A staff member walked into the room with a tray of wine and some nuts in a saucer. Helen took out a glass and sipped as they anticipated Accalia's entrance. The door squeaked,after several minutes, alerting them that she was stepping out. All eyes were glued to the door,as Accalia stepped out looking out of the world.
"Oh my gosh!",the ladies gaped at Accalia.
She smiled and her dimples added to her beauty. The gown was a mermaid-shaped gown and the sleeves had a complex design on it with a low back.
"You are a beautiful bride", Rachel said and rose from the bed to hug Accalia who was sobbing lightly.
Accalia talked about how happy she felt about finally being able to find love and peace in Ethan. She became emotional when she remembered that she couldn't have her parents at her marriage, because of the terror of the beast.
"My mom would have been happy to see me in this gown", Accalia said, breaking into tears.
"Hey! It's okay! We have your back and we'll support you", Rachel comforted.
"How can I forget the gory memory of my family begging for their lives as that devil plunged his enchanted teeth into their neck,as his witchdoctors watched with excitement. My parents loved me and all they wanted was to protect and provide for me", Accalia said.
"He ruined their chances of seeing me bloom into the woman I am now. My mother..she.. couldn't stop talking about this day but it's finally here and she's not here",she said weeping.
"I'm sure they'll be proud of you right now", Helen said, feeling emotional.
"I've been thinking about this and I really want to see them", Accalia said, cleaning her eyes.
"What do you mean? We're lost", Rachel asked, suspiciously.
Accalia sat on the bed slowly and began to speak, "I'm an Omicron and we're gifted with the power of going into the underworld with our minds. What..if..I want to go in and see them?",she said with a stern look on her face.
"You have got to be insane, Accalia! Why would you want to do a thing like that?", Helen asked,almost screaming.
"Now you listen to me! You just changed for the first time and where did that leave you? You were unconscious for weeks! Weeks, Accalia not days and everyone freaked out. But yet you plan on going on a risky journey,a day to your wedding day? You have got to be kidding me", Helen said annoyed.
"It's not like I'm never going to change again! I'm an Omicron and I'd prefer to train my mind in my changing process. In who I am then running away from what I am", Accalia said calmly.
She turned to the girls,held their hands and said, "I need to feel their warmth again". Helen shrugged her hand off and walked out of the room. She didn't want to entertain Accalia's wild thoughts anymore.
