"May I ask?", Adrian asked quietly, afraid to raise Alpha Max's anger. "What stopped you from marking her? Does she have a mate?.
"No..I perceived..", Alpha Max paused. He had perceived rejection when he had gone close to her,but he wasn't going to tell anyone that, except she wanted to. He had only over- heard her explaining to Rachelthat she was rejected.
If she had kept something that vital away from her Luna,he wouldn't want to be the one who would tell the world about her dark past. He was an Alpha and he would never be schooled on anything,not even by the council of elders.
"She doesn't have a mate and that's all that matters", Alpha Max said with finality.
Adrian nodded in understanding and bowed in support. Personally,he didn't want to investigate matters of the heart concerning his Alpha. He had his own affairs to handle. He was just thrilled that soon their pack would have a Luna. Brianna was an amazing one and nothing would be more amazing than having a mother-figure to help and breed for the pack.
Reading his thoughts, Alpha Max turned to him and said," Isn't it too early to have those erotic thoughts of yours about my business?".
Adrian laughed hard at the comment and soon Alpha Max joined. "By the way,how is Zoe doing?", Alpha Max asked.
"She's okay. Just playing a little bit hard to get. However,I'm marking her tonight", Adrian announced victoriously.
"Long overdue Man! She'll do great for you. After all,we need a tame beauty for a wild one like you", Alpha Max joked.
"Oh that reminds me! We have an addition to the pack. Greta has birthed a son", Adrian added with his face beaming with pride.
"Ohh..now that's what I'm talking about! Please let Gamma Remus be off on today's patrol. He needs to be there for his son tonight", Alpha Max advised.
After Brianna's death,the pack was in danger,so they had to breed. Few wolves were chosen to breed,since Luna wasn't available. Their areas had been under danger and it was a risk to stop procreation.
As soon as he said that,he rose from his seat, alerting Adrian that it was time to go for their night hunt. Adrian stepped out of the house and signaled the others on the areas they were going to hunt. He had already sensed it, it'll be a beautiful night.
Rachel's POV
Ever since Helen confessed to me that she was rejected,I couldn't believe it. Why would anyone reject her? She was a beauty to behold and she had a banging body,any man would kill for.
I wonder how she coped during that period. No wonder she joined this pack far away from home. And I actually thought,it's because of her late uncle who was a Gamma in this pack. Well, I'm just happy that at least soon she'll be marked with Alpha Max. How lucky of a woman she is!
Alpha Max is every female's dream. When the tragic news of his wife hit the tribes,so many females offered to join their pack, hoping to be a second-chance mate with him but all efforts were futile. Who would have thought a barbecue party could have brought this much joy?
Maybe throwing parties isn't such a bad thing. I'm certain with the outcome of today's party, Alpha would want to do it more often. Shuddering away the thoughts of today's party,I decided to wipe off the makeup from my face.
As I finished wiping my face, I stared at my reflection in the mirror. Meeting Gabriel was the best thing to ever happen to me,but was I really ready to be a Luna? Sometimes I feel like I need to be more. I sighed deeply and my pouted lips turned into a big smile when I saw my to-be Alpha, Gabriel staring at my reflection in the mirror.
Slowly,I felt his warm and large hands wrap around my tiny waist. Without a guard,I relaxed into his touch. His face buried into the crook of my neck and his grip on me tightened. I giggled at how childish he looked, holding me like that when I started hearing soft,wet kisses on my naked arm.
"No Gabe.. you have to stop",I managed to say.
"I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm just in need of my favorite person in the world right now. Is that too much to ask?",He replied,still planting kisses on my neck. I ached my body to him and watched him slowly take off the tiny bra strap from my shoulder.
With passion, his hands moved from my waist and came up to where my breasts are and he gave it a soft knead before squeezing it. The bra stood in his way and he moaned in frustration before unlocking the bra from behind and tossing it on the ground.
"I need you baby", Gabriel spat out with a rough voice before turning me to face him. Before I could open my mouth to utter a word, his warm mouth covered me completely and all I could think of was how to gain supremacy in this tongue battle.
With speed,he raised me up and placed me on the sofa before taking off the careless lingerie I had on. He watched me with passion-filled eyes as I squirmed in bed pleading for his body to put me out of my misery. Slowly he thrust his erected joystick in me and gave me several orgasms till we both fell asleep.
The loud chopping of wood woke Gabriel up from sleep. It was usually one person that would wake up before him and it was Ethan. Blinking his eyes open,he found Rachel's lithe body resting peacefully on him. Her hair partly covered her face and with his other hand, Gabriel pushed the black mass of hair behind her ear.
Quietly he slid himself from her and pulled up some shorts over his naked butt. Gabriel walked to the window and opened it to confirm his guess. Like a true beta, Ethan looked at the window and when his eyes met Gabriel's,he gave an acknowledging nod.
"Morning!", Rachel's slurry voice startled Gabriel, who turned and smiled at her. He crawled to her on the bed and gave her a brief kiss on the lips. Rachel kissed him back and tried to snuggle into his chest.
"Uh..uh .", Gabriel protested mildly, wagging his fingers at her. "I have serious business to do with Ethan this morning and obviously he is down there pretending to chop wood,all in a bid to get my attention", Gabriel said.
With his statement, Rachel burst into laughter because being an introvert, Ethan conveyed his thoughts, feelings in actions rather than saying it. "You really do know him,don't you!", Rachel said.
"Oh yes I do. He's our beta and I'm certain all of the pack know what Ethan is capable of", Gabriel replied, planting a final kiss on Rachel's lips.
"Be good and I love you",He said and exited the door before he could get a reply.
Rachel shook her head in amusement before snuggling close with the thick pillows. She had an outing with Helen as well,but she wasn't in a hurry. She would spare a few minutes in bed. Last night with Gabriel was really consuming and she needed to get a good refill.
She tried to shut her eyes but the loud gurgling in her stomach made her uncomfortable. With an air of frustration,she kicked the pillows aside and sat up. Rachel checked around for a bathrobe but couldn't find one,so she resorted to putting on one of Gabriel's t-shirts. Tying her hair up in a ponytail,she trodden down the lobby to the kitchen to whip some quick breakfast.
"Good morning !", Helen's voice rang from the corner of the kitchen, startling Rachel. She had a cup of coffee in her hand and she looked all dolled up.
"Oh my.. what the f..man!. How did you..why do you do that?", Rachel cussed, holding her chest with her hand.
"Oh! My bad! I met Gabriel on my way in. He said you were still in bed and I don't want to guess why, because just looking at you,my thoughts are right. How was your night? Yeah.. right. Don't answer that", Helen said, eying Rachel mischievously.
Rachel blushed red and tried to say something but couldn't find the words.
"So, being a good friend to the future Luna,I decided to make some breakfast, knowing for a fact that my Alpha-to-be went all out last night", Helen said nonchalantly.
Rachel just nodded in embarrassment and gave a stifled giggle. "But really,this breakfast better be worth breaking into my home", Rachel finally said. She walked towards the dishes and gave Helen a knowing look before opening the dish.
"Yumm! This looks good, Helen", Rachel said, filling her mouth with some tomatoes and egg sauce.
"I know right. I make the best meals",Helen bragged as she retrieved some bread from the fridge and made some toast with it.
"Oh please.. by the way, what did you mean by 'Friend to the future Luna',when you are a Luna in the making as we speak", Rachel said,still spooning some eggs into her mouth.
As soon as those words hit Helen,she froze and turned to face Rachel. "I'm nervous, Rach. I could barely sleep yesterday. His face and thoughts filled my thoughts. At some point,I could feel his presence around me",Helen said, slightly excited.
"Wwwnnn. You are a bold one and fate has blessed you with another chance. If you ask me, from the look of things,I bet he'll mark you soonest.", Rachel said reassuringly.
Helen walked to one of the empty stools in the kitchen and sat down, listening to Rachel. She tried to say something but Rachel cut her off.
"I know, with your mate having a son, you have some thoughts about it. But trust me,Adam is the sweetest boy I know. You saw how he took to liking you immediately he saw you", Rachel said.
"That's true! He is adorable,isn't he? And an outspoken one at that", Helen agreed.
"So, don't get nervous. Okay? All I need to know now is when are you meeting Alpha Max", Rachel said, drinking some coffee.
"Well,my instincts tell me that he'll be coming today", Helen replied.
"! Then we'll better be done with our scheduled outing before the Alpha comes love-checking", Rachel cooed.
The both ladies laughed hysterically at Rachel's goofiness as they finished up their breakfast. When they were done, Helen tidied up the dishes and cups, while Rachel ran to her room to freshen up and get dressed.
When Helen finished doing the dishes,she sat down and reminisced on her meeting with Alpha Max,the previous day. She had mourned the loss of her original mate alone. Her uncle, whom she came to live with,was the only one who knew about it. Somehow,she wished he was alive to meet her second-chance mate.
