Rachel POV
Waking up next to Gabriel completely bonded to him gave me a totally new feeling. I could remember when I was still young, I would always look at him from across the window thinking of how handsome and hot he was and how his destined mate was lucky to have him. Though those feelings changed along the line because of the harsh treatment I got from him then. But right now looking at him lying peaceful on the bed, half naked.
"Damnit".
" I never thought I would be that lucky girl".
I took advantage of time to peek around his thoughts, he wouldn't have much of a block when he wakes up, all his memories are freely opened to me while he's asleep. I skipped through things I didn't wish to see, but I was curious about his lifestyle before he knew I was his mate.
"But I was surprised by what I saw".
He had always loved me even before he knew I was his mate,he had always been jealous of how his parents doted on me, the way they describe their affection for me in his presence, how much of an impression I have on them. He had always wished everything was for him.
Confused.
So much confused, he had always wanted to be with me, he had always wanted to be like me, wanted people to look at him the way they had looked at me. That was why he trashed me down, made me look and feel like nothing to make himself feel better, but felt guilty about it at the same time. It hurt me a lot to see things like this from his side. I had no idea why he suddenly flipped on me , what made him act cruel to me, but now I can put things together even though it doesn't justify his harsh behavior towards me.
" Now you know". His thick voice sounds in my ear. Bringing me back from my wonderland. " Now that you know that I have always cared about you, even while I was harsh with you". He mutters slowly.
" You are not angry that I peeped on your memory?" I asked, feeling guilty, meeting his bright green eyes, he shakes his head and smiles at me.
" No, I'm not angry,you are free to check whatever is in there". He says while he spread his arms open for me, I snuggled into his embrace and curled into him as he wrapped his arms around me securely. I soak up under his warmth and comfort, nuzzling my face into his chest as he breathes in relief.
" Can we be like this all day?" I ask and he laughs before kissing me on my forehead.
" I would love to sweetheart, but you know we have plans to make". He says with a hint of humor in his voice, I looked up at him confused waiting for him to explain more.
" What plans?" I ask and he flashes me a sexy smile.
" Preparation of my Luna". He says cheerfully, making my heart drop.
" Oh no, I didn't even think about that". I murmur, him marking me means that I'm officially the future Luna of this park. I need to train harder and build a strong relationship with the pack members.
Gabriel had been training for the alpha position his whole life, now that he has me as his mate I will be left with only a few months to learn my duties and try to maintain a sense of continuity and community on our pack.
Gabriel pulls back and cups my cheek in his hand, urging me to look at him,his eyebrows are furrowed in concern as his eyes scan over my face.
" Sweetheart, it's going to be fine, you are going to be great, plus you have me and you also know that my mom won't throw you out to the wolves". He says with a smirk at his words that makes me laugh out loud.
" It's just a whole new level of experience, running a whole pack, caring for their safety, their happiness. I have never dreamt of ever being a Luna one day". I explained to him and I could feel him trying to poke around my mind. My uncertainty, my fear clearly on display for him to feel and see.
" Sweetheart, you are going to be great, I don't know why you never thought you could be a Luna. While everyone did". He shrugs and I look at him confused again.
" What are you talking about?" I asked him while he chuckled at me.
" That is why my dad had been training you all these years, though you have the strength for the pack dynamics, but you had that for sure... the vibes. The one those destined to be a Luna do have, we had all figured out you did be one, but we never thought you did be mine. But I'm not complaining". He says with a bright smile that I returned back.
" So I'm not behind as I felt". I asked while he nodded his head.
" You are way ahead of the game, but my mom has no patience and she has been linking me since I woke up to get our ass back to the pack house ". He says smirking my butt making me squeal. He laughs and lifts me out of bed and carries me into the bathroom. I reach my hand out to stroke his dick and he groans in response, tipping his head back.
" Are you sure we don't have time for a thing?" I asked teasingly and he smiled back.
" What thing?" He asked.
" Why don't you read my mind". I tease him again.
After an intense session in the bathroom, we walk towards the pack house hand in hand until we gasp as I remember something.
" What wrong sweetheart". He asked worriedly.
" I still have checked my library out! Fuck you distracted me with the sex in shower". I said and he laughed heartily as my face went crimson when I realized that I just screamed out loud in public where everyone could hear us.
Gabriel rounds on me as he wraps his arms around me, lifting me until my feet are off the ground so he could kiss me.
" There is plenty of time to see your new library. I plan to fake being sick about an hour into training today so we could leave early. No one should expect a newly married couple to spend the whole day in a meeting. That fucking ridiculous". He says with a low growl making me chuckle, I press my lips to his again and he groans tracing his tongue along my lips. I felt his grip on me tightened as he rumbled a low growl making sparks run through my body. I pulled away before he took me against the pack house wall.
" Let's get this over with". I growl as Gabriel grabs my hand and walks towards his father's office.
We walked into his father's office where both of his parents were sitting and having a discussion. They both stop as soon as we entered the room and the turned to look at us, their eyes roaming across our neck where our marks are on full display
Alpha stood up clapping with a smile while Luna brushes tears away from her face. I couldn't help but chuckle as Gabriel rolled his eyes at his parents display.
" You have finally won her over, don?" Alpha asked with a wry smile as Gabriel grunt. " Way to make him work for it sweetheart , he deserves all the hell you put him through ". He says to me making me smile, I squeeze Gabriel's hand and he looks down at me with eyes full of affection.
" You two look so cute together ". Luna says while drying her eyes, Alpha tuck her to his side and sigh.
" Now I have to deal with your mother being a hot mess all day". He says and Luna smirks his chest playfully.
" I'm allowed to be happy that our little and naughty boy is mated and marked to the best girl we know". She says and I see Gabriel's face heat up in an adorable blush.
" Can we just get started so I can leave early to continue mating with my girl?" Gabriel asked and I scoffed at him before hitting his chest shyly.
" Please,we both know that as soon as I get back to the house I'm spending the rest of my afternoon In the library". I said firmly, making Alpha laugh out loudly.
" Fine , I guess I will go hand my ass over to Ethan again, that sounds fun". He mutters under his breath, making me laugh.
" I will rub your sore muscles for you when you get back home". I mind link him and his eyes pops up to mine, change into his wolf eyes.
" Come on , sweetie. Let's get to work ". Luna says, gripping my hand and pulling me out of the room. Gabriel watches me leave with dark eyes and a smile that holds promise for later.
" I love you, sweetheart". He minds linking me and I smile back at him l.
" I love you too ". I say putting as much affection and calmness through our bond as I can. I felt he's a little anxious being away from me. His shoulder visibly relaxed as I left with his mom.
" Alright, it's time to turn you into the Luna we had always thought you would be". She says with a bright smile and affectionate gaze. I took a deep breath and followed her out of the pack house.
" That doesn't sound daunting or anything".
" Ok, where do we start?" I ask her to follow her down the path that leads towards the school.
" The little ones of course". She says with a bright smile. Nerves coil in my stomach as we continue on our way.
"Children,that's great".
