Aerys
I marched inside, her vanilla scent driving me wild. I slammed the door to the lounge open where she was—my mate. My beautiful mate was standing in the corner of the room, her eyes fixed on me. She was breathtaking.
" Mate," Aire breathed. She inhaled and walked over to me.
" We need to talk," her voice was so sweet. I was a goner for this girl.
"O-okay. We can talk in my study room. Follow me, please," I said. I was so excited but tried to maintain my composure. I glanced back at my friends, and they all silently cheered. I led Elizabeth to the study, and as we went there, I felt her eyes on me. My Lycan was acting like a puppy in love. Once in the study room, she stood against the wall in the corner. What was with her and the corners?
" Take a seat," I said. I was so humble. She humbled me.
" No, thank you, there is a bra there," she looked at the sofa. I felt all the color leave my face. Liace was here before I left. She must have left it.
" I don't know why we are mates, honestly. You and I are from two different worlds," she was cold in her tone. I whimpered. I fucking whispered. What was happening to me?
" I left to think, and you started fucking girls. Is this how you'll behave when we get into a disagreement? Fuck your sluts?"
I shook my head and went to her. She raised her hand to stop me in my tracks.
" I'm not naive. I know you have those,"
" Elizabeth, you're my mate. Please give us a chance," I said sincerely. Her gaze went to the couch, and she looked disdainfully at the bra.
" Nothing happened, I swear. I made it clear that I have a mate."
Elizabeth exhaled and dropped her hand to her side.
" I'll give you a chance, but if I see your whores hovering over you. I'll kill them..." she said fiercely. I was taken aback by how serious her expression was. She took a step towards me, and her eyes slowly fell on my crotch, " And I'll cut off your balls,"
" Okay," I agreed.
" You can't control me, and you will respect my decisions," she said with finality. I sighed and nodded again.
" Harry," I said. I didn't want that vampire near her. " I don't want him close to you,"
" I will continue to talk with and see Harry. You have to trust I ended my relationship with him, and I'll never be with him in that way again."
My lycan said to believe her. She was being truthful. However, how could I? They were in a relationship and seemed close.
I growled, not liking Harry around her. Elizabeth glared at me. Damn, she was so fierce.
" Harry is my business advisor at my company," she said. Elizabeth had a company? She seemed so young.
" You have a company?"
" Yes, I have a shipping company and own other businesses," she affirmed. I was impressed by her, and I took a step toward her.
" Fine, you can keep Harry around, but if he so much as looks at you the wrong way, I'll kill him," I warned. She only rolled her eyes.
" And I want you to move here... With me,"
" No,"
" Why? We are mates!"
" I'm not staying with you. I have a penthouse in town. I can stay there."
" Elizabeth, please. Stay here with me," my voice took a lower tone. I wanted her here, where I could see her and protect her. I held her waist and pulled her closer to me. Sparks erupted on our skin, and we both jolted. Her face was flushed at our proximity, and her heart was racing.
" Fine, I'll think it over," she murmured. I smiled. Without adding another word, she left the room.
I was frozen for a moment. Aire jolted me when he howled in happiness. I couldn't help but howl, too.
Elizabeth.
I closed the door to the study room, my heart racing. I smiled when I heard the howl of happiness from him.
I went to the kitchen where Coswell, Alec, and Tonga were. There was another man there. It got silent when they sensed me. I smiled at Tonga, who smiled back. She was standing behind the counter, cooking something that smelled delicious. The boys were playing cards. I felt eyes on me, and I stared at Coen. He didn't look impressed by me. I could sense people's thoughts directed at me. It was another one of my gifts.
" Luna Elizabeth, would you like something to drink before dinner?" Tonga asked.
" Please call me Elizabeth or Eli," I said. Formalities felt weird. She nodded.
" I would like a glass of water, please," I said, sitting on the counter stool. Alec had brought me some water.
" I hate sparkling water," I grimaced.
" Me too! I feel like people pretend to like it," Tonga agreed. Harry came in, looking smug. What happened?
I felt my mate behind me.
" My mate will be staying here with me," he announced. I gaped, my eyes widening.
" I said I'd think about it," I reminded him.
"It won't take long, and then you can come here," I decided not to answer him. Aerys Chasia seemed to be a determined man.
I glanced at Harry, nodding at his silent question. Aerys went on to introduce the men in the room and their positions. Coen was a young warrior, and the other bulky man, Tommy, was a tracker. I greeted them politely.
" Can you tell us a bit about yourself?" Aerys told me.
" My name is Elizabeth Valord. I'm 24 years old and a businesswoman," I kept it short. They nodded, impressed.
" An older woman," Coswell smirked. I stared at my mate. He blushed a little. It was so cute. He was embarrassed about being younger than me. In reality, I was older than most people. I decided to tease him,
" Little alpha," I whispered. His friends laughed at him. He growled at them, but it was all jokes.
Our eyes locked, and the world seemed to fade away. Everything was gone except us.
" So, Valord, interesting name," Coen said, getting us out of our trance. Valord was my family name. I didn't drop it when I left the castle.
" It's common where I'm from,"
" And where are you from?" he asked. Everyone was looking at me, waiting for my answer.
We moved from place to place before we settled in this region centuries ago. How was I supposed to know?
" Well, I mean, the name has been in my family for generations," I answered smoothly. Coen didn't like me as he had a crush on his alpha. He would cause trouble for me.
" So, are you affiliated with other vampires? Because you know your ex is a vampire, right?" Coen continued. I crossed my arms against my chest,
" No, I just know Harry."
" How? Are you his blood bank?" he asked.
Aerys growled," Has Harry hurt you before? Did you once wake up without any recollection of your memories? Is that why you were in love with him? Vampires can mind-control humans." I pushed him away from me. I was angry that he'd even say that.
" No! Harry is my friend. I trust him with my life. " I seethed. " I'm leaving. Let's go, Harry," I left the kitchen angrily. Aerys followed after me and gently held my arms.
" I'm sorry. I was just scared that he hurt you," he said, looking sad. He placed his forehead over mine. All the anger I felt earlier was gone. Is this what it feels like to have a mate? Their touch was calming.
"Harry has never hurt me," I felt the urge to confirm. He rubbed his warm hands on my bare shoulders.
" It's cold. You're cold. I'll bring you something warm to wear, okay?" he said gently, and I nodded. He went upstairs.
Harry joined me in the hallway. He smiled and wrapped a hand around my arm. I instinctively rested my head on his arm. A mighty growl startled me.
" Don't touch my mate. She. Is. Mine," Aerys growled. I groaned, hating that he thought of me as his, like I was some property. I left Harry's side and went to Aerys. I wouldn't want him to attack or go ballistic like last time. Harry raised his hand, showing he meant no harm. Aerys placed the black coat he brought on my shoulder. I murmured, thanks. He kissed my temple, making my heart skip a bit.
A possessive alpha and a stubborn vampire princess. How did we get paired?
