His Mate, His Girlfriend

Bonus Chapter 15

Ch. 157 / 172 May 06, 2026

The day was peaceful. We talked about the fight and how everyone was impressed with my skills. I hadn't seen Liace since the fight. She must be embarrassed to show her face.

" The Luna is making your introduction ceremony the most spectacular event of the year," Tonga said. I couldn't help but smile on my lips. However, it faded when I thought about Princeton. He was so unhinged. I needed to tell him the truth.

Later in the evening, we were about to go to the airport, ready for our trip. I was giddy and excited to spend this time with only my mate. He opened the door for me, and I entered. He got in the driver's seat and started the car's engine. He suddenly froze, and his eyes clouded. I felt dread in the pit of my stomach.

" Babe, what is it?" I asked, worried.

" There is a rogue attack at my borders. They are working with some vampires,"

My heart started to race in my chest. He cupped my face and kissed me quickly.

" Babe, I need to go."

I only nodded, and he left the car. I was still confused about what was happening.

I got out of the car and called Harry. He told me they caught two of my uncle's associates recently, so why was there an attack so fast?

" Princess," He was distracted.

" Harry, another attack?"

" This is random," he admitted. It was unexpected indeed.

" Have you spoken to Princeton?" I asked. What if it was his way of ruining my life with Aerys?

" Do you think he has something to do with this?" he asked.

" I don't know, let's meet soon," I hung up and rushed to the back of the house. Luckily, they hadn't started.

" I want to come," I told my mate. He immediately shook his head in refusal.

" Please, I want to come. I might help. I'm a trained doctor, remember?" He didn't have time to argue with me. I exchanged a glance with Coen. He seemed worried. Did he know something? I will ask him later.

" Elizabeth might help. We don't have enough medical staff at the border," Tonga said. I sent her an appreciative smile.

" She also needs to learn how things work," Alec said.

" Fine, do you like piggybacks?" Aerys asked. I smirked.

" I like to ride,"

" Brilliant," he winked. They all groaned and pulled disgusted faces. I laughed. Aerys shifted into a mighty dark grey lycan. It towered over me. My breath caught in my chest. I approached it and let my fingers roam over his soft coat. The huge lycan licked my face, and I frowned. That was too much saliva. He couched on his stomach, and I got on his back with the help of Coen.

" Hiya!"

The lycan snarled. He didn't like being treated like a horse. He doesn't mind in bed. I thought. Everyone else shifted, and we started for the border, with Aerys running before everyone. It felt so exhilarating!

At some point, Aerys took another turn, and the other went another way. Why did we separate? I jumped off as soon as he stopped. Aerys growled at me. I forgot for a while back there that he thinks I'm human. I only smiled sheepishly at him. I scanned the area we were in. We weren't at the border, but we were close. I could hear growls and snarls. With my vampire vision, I could see what was happening miles from here.

The rogues and vampires were fighting against the lycans. From what I could see, there were many vampires, too.

I wish I could help fight. I hadn't noticed my mate had shifted to his human form. Two tall and large lycans were beside me, each on my side.

" What is going on here?" I asked Aerys.

" They will keep you safe just in case," I scowled, not wanting bodyguards. He kissed my scowl away.

" Baby, I'll feel better knowing they are looking out for you,"

" But you said I could help," I whined, pouting.

" Yes. There is a facility where we take the injured, but not far from here. Go there, babe," he said, kissing me again. I answered his kiss passionately. I wanted more, so much more. We pulled away when we were out of breath.

" Take care, please," I told him.

" I will. You, too. If you get overwhelmed, the guards will take you home," he kissed his mark on my neck, and I shivered. He inhaled my scent one last time and ran in the direction of the border in a shift.

I watched him join the fight, very quickly ripping his enemies apart. I couldn't help but smile on my lips. I turned and followed the smell of blood. The two lycans followed silently behind me.

I saw the huge white tent and rushed there. I was about to enter when the guard at the door stopped me.

" I'm-" I started, but he interrupted me,

" Our alpha's mate. Go in, Luna," he bowed his head most respectfully. I entered the tent. It was larger on the inside than it was on the outside. Lycans were injured both in their form and human. The medical staff were doing everything they could to treat but were short-staffed.

" Hello, my name is Elizabeth. I'm a doctor. Is there anything I can help out with?" I asked. The tall male doctor eyed me. His eyes fell on my mark, and he nodded politely.

" Nurse, take her to get changed," he called to a young-looking girl. She escorted me to get changed into scrubs.

We spent hours helping out the injured, and more were still coming. Other dead on arrival. It saddened me that this was happening, and my mind reeled with questions.

" You can rest, Luna. You've been on your feet for too long," the doctor approached me.

" I'm fine, doctor," I said as I tended to the injuries of the new soldier. He was stabbed in the stomach. It was good that their fast healing kicked in to help; otherwise, things would have been worse.

" Thank you, Luna," the warrior said with a weak smile as I finished tending to him. He passed out immediately because of the medicine he was given.

One of the nurses working here since her deployment said it was their longest fight.

I heard a commotion outside and screams. I stopped what I was doing and rushed there.

Five disgusting rogues were terrorizing the staff. Two more appeared and jumped on the two guards who were fending them away. Rogues surrounded us.

They managed to leave the fighting ground to come here. There weren't many trained lycans here with us, but they did their best to defend themself. However, the rogues were feral, too.

I didn't know how to help them without revealing my identity. The two lycan guards Aerys assigned me were fighting to keep everyone safe. They glanced at me from time to time, making sure I was safe.

Two vampires arrive on the scene. They would cause more harm. The vampires barred their fangs, assessing the shifted lycans. The glee of killing is visible in their eyes.

Even though lycans were typically stronger, I could tell these vampires were older and stronger. The older vampires are, the stronger they are. Before they could pounce on the lycans. I used my vampire speed to charge at the two vampires and threw them against the tree with my strength.

" Leave," I ordered the shifted group of staff. They hesitated.

" Just go. I can handle them," my eyes flashed, and they gasped and rushed inside. I glared at the vampires, my eyes blinking. They were taken aback.

" You are royalty," one of them said.

" The runaway, Princess," another taunted. He smiled as though he had found treasure.

" Who sent you?" I demanded from them.

" We can't tell you that."

Are they part of my uncle's new clan? Damn, that man is a peril.

" I'd advise you to leave this pack, take your people, and return where you came from if you die," I warned. They scoffed,

" We don't take orders from a traitor," they snarled. Me? A traitor, their eyes were on my mark. They recognized it as the alpha's mark. Our people considered a vampire cross-mating a traitor.

" I'm not a traitor."

I assessed them. Even though they were older vampires, I could tell they were of lower rank from the aura they oozed.

" You will die." they ignored my warning.

" It's a good thing we stumbled on you because you are coming with us now, Princess Elizabeth," I narrowed my gaze on them.

" Now, why would lower-class vampires like you want from me?" I asked. They looked insulted by that. Their claws extended.

" We are taking you to your betrothed," My eyes widened when they said that. How are they connected to Princeton? Did he orchestrate this attack to scare me of him? He was sending me a message! While I was in my thoughts, a fist connected to my face, and I felt a painful sensation on my face. He swung at me again, but I caught it midair this time and kicked him. My kick was so powerful that he flew into a tree a few meters from here. Before he could retaliate, the other jumped at me. He fought me viciously while I was calm. The fight was fast, as vampires are nimble. I quickly dominated him. I grabbed his neck and detached his head. The other jumped on me, but my fist entered his chest. Without thinking twice, I ripped his heart out. I smirked, that felt fucking great.

I turned around to see how the surrounding fight was going, only to see it was over, and the lycans were looking at me. They wore stunned expressions on their faces. Oh fuck. My secret was out.
