Hiding My Twin Pups From their Alpha Dad

Chapter 109

Ch. 109 / 120 May 04, 2026

Felicia positioned Damien's chair carefully. Not at the head of the desk, not in her direct line of sight. Visible but secondary, present but not leading.

She sat and pulled out her phone. Her fingers moved over the screen, finding Lucien's contact. One breath to steady herself, then she hit dial and switched to speaker.

The line rang twice. "Felicia." Lucien's voice came through clear and warm. "It's been a while."

"I need an interception." She kept her tone level and professional. "Intermediary by the name of Elder Marcus. Can you locate and contain?"

Papers rustled on Lucien's end. "Give me the details."

Felicia laid out the information. Name, last known location, connections to the pack. Her voice stayed controlled, each word precise. Damien sat motionless in his chair, watching her lead.

"Is Damien aware of this operation?" Lucien's question hung in the air.

"Damien is here." Felicia didn't look at him as she spoke. "And he's silent."

Damien's jaw tightened slightly. But he didn't speak, didn't insert himself into the conversation. Just stayed exactly where she'd positioned him.

"Route will be through the eastern pass." Lucien's tone shifted to tactical. "Timeline is approximately four hours from now."

Felicia grabbed her pen and wrote it down. "Eastern pass. Four hours."

She repeated it aloud so Damien could hear, so there would be no confusion later. The words became fact through her voice, not Lucien's or anyone else's.

"Your interception team stays away from my wing." She directed this at Damien, who nodded once.

He raised his radio. "Command to all units. Eastern operation maintains two hundred meter distance from Luna's quarters."

The order went through in his voice, but everyone would know it came from her. Felicia watched him relay it without trying to soften or modify her requirement.

"I'll have him by nightfall." Lucien's confidence came through the speaker.

"Thank you." The words were short and clean. No extended conversation, no personal catching up.

Felicia ended the call. The office fell silent except for the distant sounds of the packhouse. She looked up and found Damien watching her.

His expression was neutral. No tightness around his eyes, no tension in his shoulders at her thanking another male Alpha. Whatever he felt about Lucien helping them, he kept it locked away.

Felicia held his gaze. Testing, maybe. Seeing if jealousy would crack through his control. It didn't.

She set her phone down. "You'll be in the field for the interception. But only as executor of my plan."

"Yes." Damien's response came immediately.

Then he added, "Repeat the two key conditions. So I don't make mistakes."

Felicia felt something shift in her chest. He was asking her to clarify, to make it impossible for him to claim confusion later. "No heroics."

"No heroics," Damien repeated.

"No risk to the children." Her voice dropped colder.

"No risk to the children." His tone matched hers exactly, serious and absolute.

Felicia stood and walked around the desk. She stopped directly in front of him, close enough that he had to tilt his head slightly to meet her eyes. "If you break either one, I won't give you a second chance."

Damien's hands rested on his knees. He didn't move them, didn't reach for her. "Understood."

He didn't say "you won't be able to stop me" or "you'll have to" or any of the controlling responses she'd heard from him before. Just acceptance of her boundary.

Felicia's eyes dropped to his shoulder. The tactical strap had twisted, the buckle facing wrong. Her hand moved before she could think about it.

Her fingers touched the leather. She straightened the strap, adjusted the buckle so it sat properly. The whole motion took maybe three seconds. Then she pulled her hand back immediately, not letting it linger on his shoulder or slide down his arm.

Damien went completely still. Every muscle in his body locked, but his hands didn't move from his knees. He didn't catch her fingers as they retreated, didn't turn the practical touch into something intimate.

"It's just a strap." Her voice came out quieter than she'd intended.

"I know." Damien's response was just as quiet, and he didn't smile or soften his expression.

Felicia stepped back. One full step, creating distance again. Damien stayed exactly where he was, not leaning forward or following her movement. The space between them remained hers to control.

Her heart was beating faster. She could feel it in her throat, in her wrists. She'd touched him, initiated contact for the first time in months. And he'd let it be what it was, nothing more.

"Go." She gestured toward the door. "And follow the plan exactly."

Damien stood. He moved past her toward the exit, his steps measured and calm. At the door, he paused for half a second, then continued through without looking back.

Felicia stayed where she was. She walked to the doorway and watched him move down the corridor. His stride was confident but not aggressive, purposeful without being rushed.

She could have called after him. Could have added more instructions or warnings. But she didn't. She just stood there and watched until he turned the corner and disappeared from view.

Her hand still tingled where she'd touched the leather strap. Where her fingers had brushed against the fabric of his uniform for those brief seconds. The sensation lingered, phantom warmth against her skin.

She'd controlled that moment. Had initiated contact and ended it on her terms. And he'd stayed frozen, accepting what she gave without demanding more.

That mattered. More than any words or promises, that restraint in the face of touch mattered. Because touch was where boundaries broke down, where control slipped away. And his had held.

Felicia turned back into the office. She had preparations to make, backup plans to consider. But underneath all of it ran a current of something she wasn't ready to name. Something that felt dangerous and necessary at the same time.

The interception would happen in four hours. Lucien would contain the intermediary, Damien would execute the plan precisely. And she would maintain control of every piece of it from here.

But that moment when she'd touched his shoulder and he'd gone still instead of grabbing for more? That moment would stay with her much longer than four hours.
