Hiding My Twin Pups From their Alpha Dad

Chapter 112

Ch. 112 / 120 May 04, 2026

Voices pulled Felicia from sleep. Quiet but insistent, filtering through the cracked door. She sat up immediately, her body moving before her mind fully caught up.

Children first. Always children first.

She crossed to their beds and touched Danny's shoulder, then Max's. Both warm, both breathing steadily. Still asleep and safe.

Felicia moved to the door and pulled it open wider. An elder stood in the corridor with one of her guards. The elder's voice carried that particular tone of authority that men used when they expected to be obeyed.

"Step away from my wing." The words came out cold and flat.

Felicia positioned herself between the elder and her door. Her body became a wall, blocking any sight line to the room behind her.

The elder smiled. "Luna Felicia, I hope you'll forgive the early hour. There are matters of pack security that require discussion and—"

"To the point." She didn't match his formal tone or acknowledge his pleasantries.

Movement at the end of the corridor. Damien appeared, walking with controlled speed. He reached them and stopped half a step behind Felicia. Not beside her, not in front. Behind.

The elder's eyes shifted to Damien. "Alpha, surely you can explain to your Luna that pack protocol requires—"

"He doesn't speak without my permission." Felicia's voice cut through the attempt.

Damien didn't contradict her. Didn't add "I'm the Alpha" or assert his authority. He just nodded once, confirming her statement.

The elder's smile tightened at the edges. "The pack has a right to know about dangers that threaten us all."

Felicia took one step forward. "The pack doesn't have a right to my children."

The elder stepped back half a pace. Not a full retreat, just enough to create space. His eyes darted between her and Damien, calculating whether this confrontation was worth pursuing here and now.

Felicia held her ground. She didn't step back or soften her stance. Just stood there, immovable, until the elder finally turned and walked away down the corridor.

Only when he rounded the corner did Felicia move. She turned and walked straight past Damien toward his office. Her shoulder nearly brushed his as she passed, but he shifted slightly to avoid contact.

The office door stood open. Felicia entered and pulled a paper from her pocket. She slapped it down on Damien's desk, the sound sharp in the quiet room.

"Elders lose access." The words came out harsh. "Now."

Damien moved to the desk but didn't sit. "Completely or partially?"

His tone stayed professional, asking for clarification without challenging the decision. Felicia's fingers pressed flat against the paper.

"Until my decision. No exceptions."

Damien picked up his radio. "Command to security. Elder access revoked effective immediately. No exceptions until Luna's authorization."

He repeated her exact words. Not paraphrasing, not adding his own interpretation. Just transmitting her order in her language so she could hear it executed precisely.

The radio crackled with confirmation. Damien set it down and looked at her.

"They'll pressure through you." Felicia kept her voice level.

"I won't accept any demands without you present." Damien's response came quiet but firm.

Felicia moved closer. "And if they invoke tradition?"

"Traditions aren't above your safety." No hesitation, no suggestion that she was overreacting.

Felicia walked to the map on the wall. Her finger came down on a point near her wing, marking territory. Behind her, she heard Damien shift position. When she glanced back, he'd moved away from the desk, creating space so he wouldn't loom over her shoulder.

"Good." Her voice dropped quieter. "Not pressing."

The observation landed between them. Acknowledgment that she'd noticed his restraint, that it mattered. Damien's expression stayed neutral.

"I'm holding the boundary." He didn't smile or soften the statement.

Felicia turned from the map. The movement brought her close to him, their bodies separated by maybe a foot. She walked past, heading for the door.

Damien didn't move to touch her shoulder. Didn't reach out or shift his weight in a way that would bring them into contact. He stayed perfectly still, letting her pass without interference.

Felicia exhaled. The breath released some of the tension locked in her chest. "This makes it easier for me."

The words came out short and simple. Damien accepted them with silence. No request for more acknowledgment, no asking what "this" meant or pushing for her to elaborate. Just quiet acceptance of what she was willing to give.

Felicia reached the door and paused. Her hand rested on the frame, and she looked back at him. He stood exactly where he'd been, hands at his sides, not following or pressing.

"The elders will try again." She stated it as fact, not concern.

"Then they'll fail again." Damien's voice carried certainty. "Every time."

Felicia nodded once. Then she left, walking back toward her wing and the children who were starting to wake. Behind her, Damien stayed in his office. Not following, not inserting himself where he hadn't been invited.

The morning light was stronger now. The packhouse was waking up around her, voices and movement filtering through walls. Felicia's guard still stood at his post, exactly where she'd left him.

Inside her room, Max was sitting up and rubbing his eyes. Danny was stretching, his small body arching like a cat. Both safe. Both whole.

Felicia closed the door and locked it. Then she sat on the edge of Danny's bed and let herself feel the full weight of what had just happened.

An elder had come to her door. Had tried to assert authority over her space, her children. And Damien had stood behind her, letting her lead. Had given her his voice to command without question.

The elders would push back. Would try to use tradition and hierarchy to force their way in. But Damien had just drawn a line in stone. Traditions didn't matter more than her safety.

That was new. That was something she hadn't expected to build on. Not just restraint in personal moments, but support in public ones. Backing her authority even when it cost him political capital with the pack's oldest powers.

Felicia looked at her children. At the room that was becoming a sanctuary instead of a prison. At the door that now had guards who answered to her, not to whoever held the most traditional authority.

Things were shifting. Not just between her and Damien, but in the whole structure around them. And for the first time, she wondered if maybe she could do more than survive here. Maybe she could actually claim power.
