Goodbye, My Mate

Chapter 65

Ch. 65 / 291 Aug 06, 2025

Lucas' POV

The light dimmed and the music stopped as I took my seat in the front row among A-list celebrities.

I didn't get shit about fashion or art. My original plan was to show up here, surrounded by phony celebrities, paying for the most expensive dress for Leah to win her back. But since Leah didn't show up, I had to change my plan.

Anyway, I will buy her those damn expensive dresses anyway. Girls like dresses. And I haven't bought Leah shit in our five years of marriage. No wonder she ran away. I would have run away if I were her.

As I was self-medicating, a stray of silver moonlight poured down from the ceiling like water flow. The whole runway was arranged like a forest, with fresh flowers and bushes everywhere.

Then, like a spirit of the forest, a woman's petite and delicate figure emerged from the darkness.

As she walked into the waterfall of moonlight, I gasped.

Leah?!

As she basked under the silver moonlight, all eyes were immediately drawn to her. She was the definition of beauty, with her long, flowing hazelnut-colored hair cascading down her back in loose, effortless waves. Her features were delicate and ethereal, with high cheekbones, and full, pink lips.

Gosh, I wish I could kiss those lips right now until they bleed.

She was wearing a beautiful dress. Even to someone like me, it was a stunning piece of art, expertly crafted from the finest materials money could buy. The fabric was soft, buttery silk, draped and gathered in all the right places to hug her curves and accentuate her figure. The color was a rich, deep emerald green, with subtle hints of shimmering gold woven throughout.

I could tell the making of that dress was a work of art, with intricate beadings and embroidery that caught the light and sparked like diamonds all over her body. The neckline was high and elegant, with delicate lace detail that added a touch of feminity to the overall look. The sleeves were long and sheer, allowing glimpses of her flawless skin beneath.

Ah, her skin. When I pressed my body against her body, her skin would turn to this rosy pink color, which I could still see in my mind.

As she walked down the runway, her movements were graceful and fluid, like a ballerina in motion. The dress flowed and swirled around her, creating a mesmerizing effect that held every single one in the audience captive. It was a breathtaking sight to behold, and for a moment, I was transported to a world of pure beauty and elegance.

She is the epitome of the Moon Goddess. And most importantly she is mine, and so does that dress. I thought to myself. I will buy that dress and let her wear it when I fuck her. I will tear that dress into pieces and watch her tremble nakedly under my body. Fuck it. I will tear her into pieces, for she's being such a whore, luring every single man like a nymph.

At that time, Leah saw me.

When our eyes met, she blushed and tilted her head like a shy, little fawn.

I had to grab the arms of my chair tightly, so I didn't jump on the stage and hold her in my arms. I felt the fire burning in my groins.

I heard Jorah's dreamy voice, "I didn't know she was modeling."

Leah, my mysterious lover. How many surprises have you got for me? How could I let this perfect woman go into my life? I want you more than anything in the world and my heart is bleeding right now.

As Leah disappeared at the end of the runway, more girls started walking on the stage.

I turned my head toward Jorah and said, "Tell the person who's in charge of the shit, I want to buy that green dress."

Jorah nodded and said, "Yes, Alpha."

As he was about to move away, I grabbed him and said, "And I want to see Leah right now."

Jorah frowned and asked, "You mean, right now?"

"Yes, right here, right now," I said. I guessed there must have been fire shooting out of my eyes.

Jorah looked terrified. He nodded and disappeared immediately.

I want Leah. She's my woman. I don't care what it takes. I'll take her back.

Leah's POV

"How was it?" I asked Bianca nervously.

"How was it? You looked like a Goddess out there! Everyone's eyes were on you and they just couldn't take it off. Leah, I have to say. It's really not fair to look so attractive and be you at the same time. I am absolutely jealous now. Thank Goddess my husband isn't here today, or maybe I will move on to my fourth marriage a little bit sooner than I expect."

"Oh, Bianca, you're so sweet. Thank you for giving me this chance. I would like you to know that this is very important to me. I have never felt so confident in my life!" I wrapped my arms around her shoulders with excitement.

Then, I looked around and asked, "Where's Finn? Did you see him?"

"He's waiting for you at the VIP Lounge now. Oh, and it seems that you've got another admirer here and he's looking for you." Bianca looked around and raised her voice, "Joan? Did you see a 6'2'' blonde guy with dazzling blue eyes?"

Joan, Bianca's hot-headed personal assistant, replied in a pile of gauze, "We are backstage at the Haute Couture show, Bianca! This room is packed with a 6'2" blonde guy with dazzling blue eyes!"

"Why do I pay you 50,000 per month when you can't find anyone?!" Bianca shouted.

"Because no one else can stand your shitty attitude," Joan replied in a firm voice.

Born and raised in a family, in which everyone refrained from publicly displaying their true feelings, I was naturally stressed by people raising their voices and confronting each other.

I tried to hold Bianca's arm and calm her down, but I stepped on the hem of my dress and tripped over.

Just when I was losing my balance, a pair of firm hands wrapped around my waist and caught me.

"Good evening, Miss Lewyn," A familiar voice appeared behind me. "Losing your balance again?"

Oh, no. I thought to myself. It can't be it.
