Chapter 140

Ch. 140 / 231 Apr 27, 2026

Fern's Perspective

Nearby plants glowed with a faint, dreamlike light, as if from a scene in a dream. At my feet, insects rustled, and the nearby stream played a soft melody like an orchestra.

In the distance, wolves howled, their eyes fixed on the bright moon. The treetops shimmered silver, and the fog cast blurred shadows through the forest. I quickened my pace among the trees.

The stream shimmered in the moonlight, illuminating the greenery and flowers that brushed against my ankles. The ethereal beauty before me lifted my bad mood, and a slow smile spread across my face. Giovanni observed me.

"Thank you, Giovanni!" I exclaimed, releasing the pent-up boredom of the past few days.

Giovanni nodded in response. I happily dashed through the forest toward the moon, as if running toward my freedom.

Moonlight bathed me, as if beckoning me back to nature. I couldn't resist the call from within, and my body began to change, muscles expanding rapidly and thick, silver-gray wolf fur sprouting on my skin. Seconds later, a massive wolf stood alert, gleaming and athletic.

My joy sparked deep excitement in Giovanni. His body also transformed into a giant wolf with silky black fur. Proudly, he stood on a rock, lifting his head to the sky and letting out a long howl.

I stood beside him, my eyes sparkling with excitement. Giovanni leaped off the rock and effortlessly carried me on his back. We sped along the moonlit trail like lightning. The wind whipped across my cheeks, and I felt myself melding into the enchanting night.

The sensation of freedom once more enveloped me, and Giovanni and I became one with the wilderness. Giovanni led me to a high vantage point. In the moonlight, he transformed back into his human form.

The forest sprawled beneath us, and a moonlit stream wound its way among the trees.

Both of us gasped for air and exchanged smiles as we faced each other.

My face was flushed, and tiny beads of sweat trickled down my forehead. I glanced at Giovanni, then took a deep breath, covered my mouth with my hand, and yelled into the open woods.

"Ahhhhhh!"

My voice reverberated through the trees, startling a sleeping bird, which fluttered its wings and flew off into the night.

"Thank you, Giovanni. I'm so happy today," I said, turning my head and offering a sweet smile.

The night was dark and starry, the river shimmered silver-white in the moonlight. Dewdrops on the grass swayed in the breeze, adding a veil of mystery to the serene landscape.

Giovanni took a deep breath and broke the silence, "Little Tree, can you now tell me why you left secretly? Why is there always a hint of melancholy in your eyes?" His voice was low and gentle, as if whispering and pleading.

I was silent for a moment, mixed emotions swirling in my eyes. I turned to Giovanni, a thousand words in my mind, but finding it difficult to speak them. My heart beat violently in my chest, a reminder of the impassable gap between us.

Giovanni looked at me calmly. There was something indefinable in his eyes.

I lifted my head and gazed into his handsome face, choosing to answer with action. I gently lifted my head and pressed my soft lips against his.

Giovanni instinctively sensed the unspoken longing between us. He lowered his head and tenderly kissed my delicate lips.

As they kissed, my body surrendered to blissful oblivion, my fluttering eyelashes betraying my ecstasy.

My hands moved up Giovanni's strong neck, yielding to his passionate embrace.

In that moment, the world seemed to disappear, leaving only us in the soft, silvery moonlight.

In this sweet, intimate moment, Giovanni pulled me closer, his hands sensually caressing my soft spine as if trying to merge our bodies together.

I peeked through half-closed eyes to find Giovanni's strikingly handsome face inching closer, his eyes squeezed shut.

His hands grew more assertive, tracing a slow path down my back.

Responding instinctively, I arched my back and gasped as Giovanni's fingers, like sinuous serpents, slid beneath my shirt to caress my smooth skin.

I lifted my head and subtly wriggled, attempting to shed my cumbersome clothes. Giovanni's lips never strayed, one hand slipping upward beneath my shirt while the other gently lifted my chin, our eyes locking once more.

"Relax," he murmured.

Fear and hesitation dissolved in the surge of wild desire. Before I could comprehend, Giovanni had my back against the cold, flat stone. My heart raced, my mind consumed by lust and longing for him.

All I wanted, in that fleeting moment, was him.

A voice inside me pleaded, "Please, don't stop touching me."

The stone's chill against my exposed skin sent a shiver of pleasure through me, and an involuntary moan escaped my throat, betraying my desire. It seemed to signal Giovanni forward, an unspoken invitation. I bit my lip, attempting to stifle the tantalizing sound.

But it was futile. In an instant, Giovanni stripped away my clothes, as if granted permission. Fully exposed, I sat astride him, illuminated by the moonlight.

"Giovanni, no."
