Getting away with the Alpha's Pup

Chapter 165

Ch. 165 / 231 Apr 27, 2026

Giovanni's Perspective

"What do you want, Alpha?" Tobias asked as he walked into my office.

"We have guests coming," I said, getting straight to the point. "Alpha Galen of the Black Moon Wolf Pack and his son Silas are visiting our pack again."

Tobias was clearly surprised by my words. After all, Alpha Galen and Silas had visited before, and none of us knew their purpose for coming at a time like this.

"Oh... well." He quickly adjusted his demeanor. "I'll make sure their room is prepared."

Unsurprisingly, Alpha Galen arrived quickly.

"We'll be hosting a dinner party tonight, and you're both welcome," I said flatly as we entered the main room. "I have things to do, so I'll let Tobias get you settled in."

As I turned to walk up the stairs, Silas' bright voice called out from behind me, "I look forward to seeing you later, Giovanni."

Tobias' eyes widened.

I didn't like being addressed by my first name unless I permitted it. In the world of werewolves, calling an Alpha by his first name could be seen as a provocation.

I stopped in the middle of the hall, but Tobias stepped in and corrected Silas before I could respond, "Mr. Sloan, everyone in this pack calls him Alpha. He is never addressed by his first name."

I hesitated, but instead of turning around to confront Silas, I continued walking.

This time, Silas was lucky.

Alpha Galen offered a polite smile tinged with apology and said, "I'm sorry."

The evening was about to begin with a dinner in honor of Alpha Galen's visit.

As my eyes skimmed over Fern, who was busy preparing for the dinner, I remembered that Fern, under my orders, was doing what an Omega was supposed to do at the moment.

I forced myself to look away from Fern, but the next moment, a commotion caught my attention.

I turned my head to see Silas standing in front of Fern, with drinks and shards of glass on the floor next to them.

They were some distance away, but my hearing was good enough to catch their conversation.

Fern was turning to Silas and apologizing for accidentally bumping into him.

I didn't want to intervene at first, but I didn't like the way Silas was looking at her.

"What are you doing here?" My low voice echoed from behind Fern as I appeared beside her in the blink of an eye, my arm firmly wrapped around her shoulders.

Fern looked up at me in surprise.

"Please don't blame the lovely lady. I was the one who accidentally bumped into her," Silas said with a smile.

"What happened? Oh, Silas, I was looking for you!" Another voice called out.

I turned toward the door and saw Alpha Galen walking in with Tobias.

"Nothing," Silas said as he walked up to Alpha Galen. "I just accidentally bumped into this lovely lady."

Alpha Galen's gaze lingered on Fern for a moment, causing me to instinctively pull her closer.

Alpha Galen smiled and said, "We have plenty of time. Shouldn't we attend to other matters and leave the young lady in peace?"

I nodded and replied, "Very well."

"However, I insist that the young lady join us for dinner tonight. It would be a shame for such a beautiful woman to be left alone," Silas added.

My fists clenched slightly at my sides. I stared at Silas before saying, "It would be an honor for her."

I didn't want to overreact, but Silas was testing my patience.

"Alpha—" Tobias's voice came from behind me.

I wasn't pleased with him, but it was out of his control.

"Alpha, I'm sorry about what happened earlier—"

Tobias didn't just apologize, but I wasn't in the mood to hear it. I had more pressing concerns.

"That's enough," I interrupted, grabbing a glass of whiskey from the table. "Do what's necessary, but don't overreact for an Omega."

Tobias looked at me, surprised.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. I thought you were more upset about the situation with Fern. Anyway, I'll rearrange her security."

"It's not just about Fern. They've crossed the line with me multiple times. If I weren't bound by diplomatic protocols, I'd deal with them myself. Unfortunately, we both know that's not an option."

My frustration was evident in my tone. I was angry.

I downed my drink, refilled my glass, and headed back to my table.

Tobias watched me with a puzzled expression, as if he wanted to ask something but was reluctant to offend me.

"Spit it out, Tobias. What's wrong?"

"Are you sure you want to bring Fern to the dinner party?"

I took a deep breath, trying to stay calm.

For some reason, just mentioning her stirred something deep within me, making me want to be with her. She was undeniably tantalizing. Her soft, flawless skin, the smooth curves of her body, and the way she seemed made for me—it all made it hard to think straight.

Shaking my head, I tried to clear my thoughts.

She was just an Omega now, that's all, even if being with her felt good.

"Tobias, since it's a guest's request, we need to make them happy, don't we?"

The thought of Silas looking at Fern made my anger flare up again. That woman always attracts attention. Since she caused the trouble, she should face the consequences.

"Understood, Alpha, but..."

Tobias hesitated, and I was growing frustrated with the conversation.

"Oh, for heaven's sake, Tobias, but what!?" I growled, exasperated.

"I just don't think we should add another enemy right now. Besides, I don't think you'd like that."

It took a moment for Tobias's words to sink in, and I found myself at a loss for words.
