For a moment, Indianna thought Tai had attacked her. She was lying on the floor, her head ringing and vision slightly blurred. All she could smell was the metallic scent of blood and she panicked, her hands going to her stomach, feeling herself rapidly for any injuries.
Her hands remained dry, but she didn't relax, just because she couldn't feel blood didn't mean she wasn't injured. She was disorientated and the only thing she could hear apart from the ringing in her ears were screams.
Was she in pain?
She couldn't tell.
She blinked, feeling liquid trickle into her eye. Her hands moved slowly as she rubbed her face, a sharp pain shooting down the side of her head, and she pulled her fingers away to see blood.
Hands suddenly grabbed hers and Greyson came into her field of vision. His lips were moving frantically, his eyes wide, but Indianna couldn't hear his voice.
Someone was still screaming.
Greyson gripped Indianna's shoulders, pulling her up from the floor. She stumbled but he held her firmly. Once she was on her feet Greyson grabbed her face in his hands and yelled one word.
"Run!"
Indianna heard him, and she also heard the screams coming from behind her, she could focus on them more clearly now.
Rogue was screaming.
"W-what?" Indianna attempted to turn around to see the scene unfolding behind her, but Greyson held her still.
"Sugar, get out of here. Now! It's not safe!"
"Let go of me, Greyson!" Indianna shouted and she fought against him and wriggled free of his grasp, turning around and freezing at the sight in front of her.
Rogue was kneeling on the floor, howling, screaming. He was covered in blood, it stained his skin and his clothes crimson. "Help her!" He cried, every inch of his voice laced with pain. He screamed again, his voice cracking from the strain. "Somebody!"
The blood on Rogue was spreading. It wasn't stopping. Clutched in his arms was Stacey's body. She lay limp, eyes barely open, mouth agape, and blood covered her. It flowed from her freely, exiting a large wound on her neck.
A bite wound.
Everything clicked in Indianna's mind and she frantically scanned the room, looking for Tai, but she was no where to be found. Neither was Ace, Raiden and Brandon. Everyone else remained in the room, but they were all making their way to the exit, putting as much distance between them and Rogue as they could.
Hands gripped Indianna and she cried out when she felt herself get pulled backwards. "Wait! We can't leave her! We have to help-" A hand clasped itself over Indianna's mouth and she knew immediately who was responsible for dragging her away.
She no longer needed to feel the sparks to recognise his touch.
"We need to get out of here, sugar, before he becomes murderous and kills us too." Greyson's words were hushed, but whispered with a forcefulness that made Indianna doubt arguing back.
"STACEY."
Rogue was shaking Stacey's body, tears fleeing freely from his eyes. Indianna noticed her chest was rising, only ever so slightly and if she strained her hearing she could hear a gurgling sound.
Indianna wanted to be sick when she realised that the gurgling sound was coming from Stacey. She was drowning in her own blood.
Rogue and Stacey disappeared from Indianna's sight as Greyson dragged her out of the kitchen and out of the pack house, along with everyone else that had been at the dinner.
"Go!" Greyson yelled. "Everyone run!"
"Greyson!" Indianna gasped. "Wait, just wait-"
"His mate is dead!" Greyson shouted, cutting Indianna off. Rogue's screams of agony could be heard from outside. "We haven't got time to wait!"
"Where is anyone going to go?" Indianna cried. "We have no plan! No supplies, no-"
"Anywhere is better than near him! Now I'm not endangering you here for a second longer. We're leaving now, sugar, and I will drag you the whole fucking way if I have too!"
"I am going to kill them. I am going to kill them. I am going to kill them."
The chanting started off quietly.
"I am going to kill them. I am going to kill them. I am going to kill them."
It started to grow louder.
"I am going to kill them. I am going to kill them. I am going to kill them."
Rogues screaming had stopped, but the chanting was getting even louder.
"I am going to kill them. I am going to kill them. I am going to kill them."
Chills ran down Indianna's spine and she looked around at her pack members, their expressions showing that they could also hear the chanting.
"Kill them. Kill them. Kill them."
"It's too late," Greyson whispered. "No one is getting far enough away. We haven't got enough time."
"Kill them. Kill them. Kill them."
The chant was even louder. Even closer.
"Kill them. Kill them. Kill them."
"Kill them. Kill them. Kill them."
"Kill them. Kill them. Kill them."
Indianna reached for Greyson's hand and looked at the front door of the pack house, watching as the door swung open slowly, the hinges creaking loudly in the silence.
Nobody moved as Rogue exited the house. His head was down, looking at the lifeless body he held in his arms. His tears were silently falling from his cheeks, forming a wet patch on Stacey's shirt.
"Little... sister."
Rogue sung the words and dread filled Indianna. Rogue sounded different. Something in his voice has changed. His words instilled a sickening fear into her. He sounded empty. Lifeless.
Rogues head shot up. His eyes locked on Indianna, his lips curling up into a cruel smile. "You killed her."
Indianna was speechless.
