DEFEATED (SHY BOOK 2)

Chapter 75

Ch. 75 / 135 Apr 13, 2025

"I'm not finished," Rogue said sharply. "Sister, sweetheart, keep your mate quiet unless he wants to be bound and tortured again."

Indianna's heart broke, looking between Brooklyn and Harry, and then Greyson. They all had the same look in their eye. Part of all of their souls had been broken by Rogue, and no matter how much they tried to hide the side of them that had been destroyed by him, in this moment, it was all Indianna could see.

In her heard she heard Brooklyn's screams, her cries and shouts that filled the pack house when she had her nightmares. She saw Harry's impulsiveness, his selfishness when it came to Brooklyn, his carelessness for anyone else but her. It was all because of Rogue and the heinous acts he had committed towards Brooklyn. Harry hadn't been able to prevent them, so he gave Brooklyn his all. His thoughts, his anger, his concerns, his sadness, his care, and his love.

She saw Greyson. She saw how he had changed since he had come back. Rogue hadn't killed Greyson, but he had killed apart of him. She saw his scars that covered his now flawed skin, and how he hadn't elaborated much on the torture he endured at the hands of Rogue. She saw how hard he had been working, planning to take down Rogue, and Indianna couldn't help but wonder, if they managed to defeat Rogue, what life would he be like once they were free.

She struggled to see true happiness in any of their futures. Everyone was going to be tainted forever because of Rogue.

"You..." Brooklyn's voice cracked and she forced herself to look Rogue in the eye. "Are you insinuating-"

Rogue smiled sadistically. "What? What am I insinuating, Brooklyn? That the child could be mine?"

Brooklyn's chair scraped back on the floor, screeching loudly, making Indianna cringe. Brooklyn clutched her stomach and stumbled backwards, looking like she was going to throw up.

Indianna felt Greyson rise ever so slightly in his seat, watching Harry cautiously, preparing for him to lunge any second now. She then turned to Stacey who was watching Rogue, a love struck look covering her features Indianna was appalled. She didn't understand how Stacey could look at Rogue with so much admiration after what he had just said.

"Oh, Brooklyn, don't be so dramatic and sit back down," Rogue scolded. "We both know that if it were true then I would not allow you to be in this house, at his side."

"You little-"

"Harry! Leave now," Indianna ordered, cutting Harry off. "And take Brooke with you."

"Stay where you are," Rogue ordered.

"You don't want to push this Jason," Indianna said and looking at Rogue pleadingly. She mentally was begging him, praying that he would let them go or she knew that things were going to get messy. "I am the Luna of this pack and I'm telling you that they are going to leave this room before Harry doesn't something he is going to regret."

"Let them go," Stacey spoke up, placing her hand on Rogue's arm. She rolled her eyes. "Brooke is so dramatic, let them leave. It'll be a nicer atmosphere without them.

Brooklyn just stared, her eyes were empty. She looked so broken. Harry stood before Rogue said anything and Greyson relaxed back into his seat when Harry grabbed Brooklyn, pulling her away from the table and out of the room. He didn't look at anyone except her. Brooklyn stumbled as she let Harry take her away, her legs feeling numb and not moving as fast as Harry was pulling her from the room. Once they were safely away Greyson sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, turning to face Indianna, looking utterly drained.

*We can do this, Grey.*

Greyson closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing deeply. Indianna took his hand and brought it to her lips, placing a gentle kiss on his fingers.

*At lease Harry didn't explode.* Greyson opened his eyes, staring at Indianna.

*That could have gone a lot worse,* Indianna agreed and the two them moved their attention back to the group. Rogue had turned his questioning to Tai.

"How are enjoying my town, Tai? Do your brother and you like it?" Rogue asked.

"No."

*This fucking girl,* Greyson growled and sent a glare to Ace, who only shrugged his shoulders, helpless.

Rogue smirked and chuckled lowly. "Really? I'm surprised. You and your brother have come from the foster system and you've managed to find a pack that have accepted you and you've both found your mates and you're telling me you don't like it here? It sounds an awful lot better than your past."

Tai's dark eyebrows furrowed and she shifted uncomfortably, eyes flickering to Raiden and Brandon who were listening intently. "What the hell have you told him?" She directed her question towards Brandon who's eyes widened innocently.

"N-nothing!" Brandon stuttered. He was in a very conflicting position, surrounded by a pack that hated him, a mate that was ashamed and disappointed in him, a someone who he used to call a friend and a mentor, but now he only feared him and his power. Brandon had distanced himself from Rogue, and Rogue had noticed.

"He is telling the truth. Brandon does not tell me much anymore. I believe I have you to thank for that." Rogue pointed at Raiden. "He didn't tell me a word about you. I had to figure out all I know about you and your sister all on my own."

Raiden didn't say a word. Brandon placed at around Raiden's shoulder, who stiffened, but didn't push Brandon away. "You have to trust me, Rai," Brandon whispered into Raiden's ear.

Tai, who was watching them with narrowed eyes scoffed and shook her head. She then turned to Rogue, eyes still thin slits. "What do you know about us?"

"Does your new mate know?" Rogue wondered, wiggling his fingers at Ace. "You've got quite the dark past, young lady. I'm surprised you didn't shock him back into another coma."

Indianna wasn't expecting the sudden touch of Greyson, gripping her waist and pulling her closer to him so their bodies were touching. He pressed his lips against the back of Indianna's head, his breathing coming out through gritted teeth.

*Stay in control,* Indianna said soothingly.

"How do you know about us? It's none of your damn business."

"Watch your tone when you speak to him!" Stacey spoke, her tone sharp. "It most certainly is his business, this is his town and he doesn't know who you are."

"I'd very much like it to stay that way," Tai argued.
