Contract With Alpha Theodore

Chapter 162

Ch. 162 / 220 Apr 30, 2026

third person's POV

"Okay, I got it."

Vanya was getting ready to go out, and Sabrina suddenly said in a sarcastic tone, "Some interns don't learn anything else, just like to spend all their time on men. Young people these days really make the workplace a mess!"

Vanya ignored her—there was nothing to explain to someone like that.

"Did you hear? Calvert specifically picked that intern to be his assistant. I really don't know what their relationship was."

"What did it matter? Wasn't she just using her looks to flirt with people?"

"Last time I even saw her secretly meeting Calvert in the hallway, she looked so pretty, I didn't expect that..."

The employees at the company where Vanya interned always gossiped.

Vanya was just here as an intern for a month because the school required it, and she had pretty much heard all the gossip in the company.

When Calvert's agent came over to call her, everyone around looked at her strangely.

"Did you know? You picked me to help with the shoot, and now every woman in the company was after me."

There was a hint of helplessness in Vanya's tone, but Calvert just had a faint smile on his face: "Even if I didn't let you help, they would still make you a target."

Vanya admitted that before today, her days hadn't been easy either. There was always endless work landing on her for no reason. Being good-looking is sometimes a hassle too.

"Vanya, could you help tidy me up?" Calvert's voice had a teasing tone. He stretched out his arms, showing off his delicate collarbones.

What Vanya was holding was the latest men's jewelry from the Thompson family.

Karkalvert stood in front of her, and the rush of hormones made her not know where to start for a moment.

"I never put earrings on a man... or a belt." She said, a little embarrassed.

The theme of this episode was wild style, which was a sharp contrast to Calvert's own vibe—it was like a cold, aloof guy suddenly turning into a needy little wolf.

"It's okay, I'll teach you." Calvert leaned in, his voice low.

His acting was great, and for a moment Vanya really thought she saw nothing but deep affection in his eyes.

"Don't use me to practice your acting. I already had a partner." Vanya fastened his belt for him in a clumsy way.

Calvert lowered his eyes and asked, "You mean Cliff?"

Vanya paused for a second.

Calvert asked again, "You still weren't planning to break up with him?"

"Who said I didn't plan to? It's just that the timing wasn't right yet."

M Group did give Cliff quite a shock, but it wasn't enough.

She had to come up with something that would make Cliff have to give her up.

That meant M Group totally threatened Cliff's position and left him unable to fight back.

Calvert was silent for a moment and asked, "Do you need my help with anything?"

Vanya looked up, smiling. "I needed you to become a movie king and bring the biggest influence to my company."

"But with Dalton Media's current strength, even if I became Best Actor, I couldn't help you much."

Calvert whispered, "Are you hiding something from me?"

Vanya tightened the belt one last time, and the force made Calvert feel a bit of pain.

He lowered his head and saw that Vanya had already pulled her hand back. He just heard her say, "I'll tell you when you become a movie king."

"What happened? Why is it so slow!"

The stage manager was really rushing things over there. He walked up, saw Vanya, and frowned, "Can you do it or not? If not, just leave!"

"Was I too slow or what? Am I supposed to leave too?"

Calvert spoke in a flat tone, but the crew member immediately changed his expression: "No, no! Calvert, let's hurry up and take the photos."

Calvert didn't move, staring coldly at the stagehand: "You cursed at someone, don't you know you should apologize?"

The stage manager didn't expect he'd get so serious over a small employee, but he didn't dare offend this popular actor, so he just said to Vanya, "I'm really sorry, I lost my temper earlier."

"It's okay, just be careful next time." Vanya's attitude didn't seem like a regular employee at all, more like a boss.

The stage manager got snubbed and wondered, What's up with this artist? And what's up with this staff member?

Meanwhile--

Melinda went back to the dorm, and the other roommates had already teamed up to isolate her.

"Looks like someone got dumped and has nowhere to go, huh?"

"Back then I lied and said my boyfriend was some big shot businessman, but actually he was just being kept by someone. So funny."

Raven and Fawn kept talking one after another. The people in the dorm used to flatter her, but now there was only sarcasm and mockery left.

"Ding ding—" Melinda's phone rang. It was the dean calling.

The dean's attitude was totally different from before, and his tone was cold: "All the grad students had to do internships outside this year. You took a few days off, and now all the spots the school assigned were already full. Don't say I didn't warn you—if you couldn't find a suitable place to intern, you wouldn't get your diploma. Figure it out yourself."

Finished talking and hung up the phone.

Melinda looked pale.

Back when Cliff was still investing in her, these people checked on her every day. When did they ever talk to her like this?

That was because they knew she'd been dumped by Cliff, so they didn't take her seriously.

She glanced at the others' disdainful looks and secretly clenched her fists—she definitely couldn't just let it go!
