Vanya's POV
"Damn it!" I had a bad feeling and dragged Grace up to the second floor.
When we got there, we were blocked by Cliff's people.
The bodyguards, seeing it was me, hesitated but still followed the orders of the security guard downstairs and blocked me outside.
"Stop right there! Alpha Cliff said no one is allowed in here. Please go back downstairs," one of them said.
My tone turned cold instantly, and my eyes sharpened. "What? I'm still not divorced from Alpha Cliff, and the Todd Group already has a new lady?"
The two bodyguards exchanged glances, seeming a bit unsure.
Not far away, Elliot ran over and coldly scolded, "Are you both blind? You dare to block Luna Vanya?"
The bodyguards quickly stepped aside, and Elliot's face lit up with relief. "Luna Vanya, you're finally here."
I frowned and asked, "What happened in there?"
Elliot hesitated for a moment, then said, "It's Mr. Hammond. He broke into Miss Coleman's room."
"Wilmot broke into Melinda's room?" I couldn't believe it. Why on earth would Wilmot break into Melinda's room?
Grace also asked, "So what now? What's the situation?"
"I..." Elliot didn't know how to respond. I pushed past him and went inside.
"Wilmot! Wilmot!"
As soon as I entered, I saw Cliff punch Wilmot in the face.
"Stop!" I stepped forward and quickly shielded Wilmot. When Cliff saw me, his expression changed. "What? You're protecting him too?"
"Vanya, get out of the way! I'm going to beat him to a pulp!" Wilmot tried to push me aside, but I immediately snapped, "Shut up!"
"Cliff... Cliff, I'm scared..." Melinda was huddled under the covers, clutching Cliff's coat around her.
Her face was streaked with tears. She looked away from me nervously.
I glanced at her coldly and quietly asked Wilmot behind me, "What exactly happened?"
Wilmot forced back his anger and said, "I just wanted to see what those two were up to, but when I got there, the door was slightly open. I went in and saw her taking off her clothes with her back to me!"
Hearing this, Melinda burst into tears. "You're lying! What did I ever do to you to deserve such slander?"
She turned to tug at Cliff's sleeve, crying, "Alpha Cliff, it was Wilmot who broke in and tried to assault me! That's why I screamed for help!"
"Bullshit!" Wilmot shouted, "I, Wilmot, can have any woman I want. Why would I go after you?"
A flash of pain crossed Melinda's face.
Cliff's eyes narrowed. "So, Mr. Hammond, you have the guts to do it but not to admit it?"
"I didn't do anything! She slandered me!"
"Who would slander their innocence? Everyone in L.A. knows what kind of person you are. Besides your usual partying, now you're even trying to make a move on my woman. Who put you up to this?" Cliff glanced at me meaningfully.
I found it amusing. "You're saying Wilmot was sent by me? Cliff, your imagination is really something."
Cliff sneered. "Isn't it? You used to target Melinda all the time. Today, I asked you to come, but you gave the dress to Melinda. I already thought it was suspicious. I didn't expect you to team up with Wilmot and pull something like this!"
I said coldly, "Cliff, don't make baseless accusations without evidence."
"If it wasn't you and Wilmot working together, how could you have gotten here so fast?" Cliff said coldly. "Even if Edwin were here today, I'd still teach him a lesson!"
"I'm not afraid of you!" Wilmot tried to be tough again.
I quickly stopped him and said, "The situation hasn't been clarified yet. I think... we should call the police."
I glanced at Melinda on the bed and continued, "Let the police handle it. After all, they work with evidence and will surely get to the bottom of what happened today."
Hearing this, Melinda's face changed slightly.
She sobbed softly, tugging at Cliff's sleeve again and crying, "Alpha Cliff... it's my fault for not closing the door properly. It's not Mr. Hammond's fault. If we involve the police now, I... I'll really have no face to show in public."
Melinda cried dramatically.
Wilmot wanted to hit her for acting, but I held his wrist and shook my head at him.
Cliff's eyes were full of sympathy for Melinda. He glanced coldly at Wilmot and me. "What? You want to make this public?"
"According to Melinda, Wilmot just broke in and didn't do anything to her. Calling the police is just to clarify the situation. Since both sides are saying different things, clearly one of them is lying," I said, looking at Melinda with a hint of mockery. "Could it be that someone is afraid and doesn't want the police to investigate?"
Melinda's sobs stopped abruptly. She looked at me defiantly and said, "Luna Vanya, what do you mean? Are you saying I'm lying?"
I said nonchalantly, "Whether you're lying or not, an investigation will reveal the truth."
Wilmot immediately agreed. "I have no objections."
Melinda's face changed slightly. She wanted to say something, but Cliff already instructed Elliot, "Call the police."
