Carrying the Lycan Cursed child

chapter 11

Ch. 11 / 30 Mar 26, 2026

POV Kali

I had been touched before. I had been taken before. But never like this. Never with worship. Never with reverence.

It wasn't just passion. It was the breaking of every chain I hadn't even known bound me.

Zion's body pressed to mine with care that stole my breath. Every touch, every caress, every thrust was so different from the cold, mechanical encounters I had endured with Kastian. Where Kastian had left me hollow, Zion filled me. Where Kastian had taken, Zion gave. He moved with fire that burned and soothed at once, worshipping me with each slow roll of his hips, each heated whisper against my skin.

For the first time in my life, I didn't feel like a burden. I felt adored. Cherished. Exalted. His eyes roamed me not with hunger alone, but with devotion. As though I were something sacred. As though I were his goddess.

"Mine," he growled into my throat, his teeth scraping over my pulse as his body surged deeper, harder. The word vibrated through me, lighting every nerve, drawing a cry from my lips that was more joy than sound.

The bond pulsed between us, alive and electric. My soul reached for his, colliding in a connection so fierce it nearly shattered me. It wasn't just skin, wasn't just lust. It was everything. The way his chest pressed against mine, the way his breath mingled with mine, the way his eyes anchored me.

"Forever mine, my beautiful mate," Zion whispered, his voice rough with possession and something achingly tender. His lips claimed mine again, and this time it wasn't gentle. It was hungry, reverent, consuming.

I clung to him, nails digging into his back, arching to take him deeper. My body was no longer mine. It was his, given freely, claimed completely. Each thrust pulled me higher, until pleasure and love and power blurred into one unstoppable crescendo.

When release tore through me, it wasn't just physical. My cry was raw, broken, holy. Zion's growl followed, low and guttural, vibrating through my very bones as he surged into me one final time, holding me tight against him as if he would never let go.

The climax didn't end in the shuddering spasms of flesh alone. It transcended. A golden warmth bloomed deep in my core, spreading outward, filling every hollow place I had carried for so long. It was heat and light, fierce and undeniable.

I gasped, hand trembling as it pressed to my abdomen. The sensation pulsed beneath my palm, alive, radiant. "I can feel it," I whispered, awe breaking through the haze of passion. My voice trembled with wonder. "Something... something's there."

Zion's body stilled above mine, his breath shuddering, eyes widening with fierce reverence. His hand covered mine, large and steady, pressing my palm harder against my belly. His lips brushed my temple, voice ragged with emotion.

"Our beginning," he murmured. "Our forever."

Tears blurred my vision as he held me, still joined, still pulsing with that impossible connection that had rewoven my soul. For the first time, I wasn't empty. I wasn't unseen.

I was his mate. His love. His everything.

And as his arms locked around me, as his whispered promises sank into my skin, I knew I was no longer a burden.

But our peaceful moment shattered like glass.

Aggressive pounding echoed from the main chamber doors, followed by the sound of many boots and angry voices in the corridors. Outside the windows, I could see torches gathering in the courtyard as armed soldiers took positions.

"What's happening?" I asked, fear creeping into my voice.

James' urgent voice cut through our peaceful moment: "Your Majesty, we have an immediate crisis. Alpha Kastian has arrived with a military force and is demanding entry to these chambers."

Zion was instantly alert, helping me dress quickly while moving to assess the threat from the balcony. His protective instincts flared as he took in the scope of what we were facing.

"How many men?" he called to James.

"At least two hundred, Your Majesty. Fully armed and positioned strategically around the palace."

My blood ran cold. Two hundred soldiers wasn't a rescue party. It was an invasion force.

Below in the courtyard, Kastian's voice boomed with calculated outrage: "The Lycan King holds my lawful wife hostage in his chambers! This is an act of war against the Crescent Moon Pack and a violation of sacred marriage bonds!"

His words carried clearly through the night air, designed for maximum political impact. He was painting Zion as a tyrant who steals wives rather than a king who found his fated mate.

"Citizens of the realm!" Kastian continued, his voice projecting to anyone within hearing. "Witness how your king violates the most basic laws of our society! If he can steal one man's wife, whose mate will he take next?"

"Clever," Zion muttered grimly. "He's turning this into a public relations battle."

I joined him at the balcony, wrapping a robe around myself. The sight below made my heart sink. More soldiers were arriving by torchlight, taking positions around every exit. This wasn't a spontaneous reaction.

"He came prepared for this," I realized with growing dread. "The speed of his response, the number of men. He was ready for the possibility that I might choose you."

Zion's jaw tightened. "He planned this from the moment he saw us together on the balcony."

"Your Majesty," James called urgently, "he's demanding to speak with you directly. He says he'll give you one hour to return his wife voluntarily before he considers you in breach of pack law."

"And if I refuse?" Zion called back.

"He's threatening to call for a gathering of all Alpha packs to determine if you're fit to rule."

The implications hit me immediately. If enough Alphas sided with Kastian, they could challenge Zion's right to the throne. Even if they couldn't remove him, they could make his reign impossible.

"This is my fault," I whispered, guilt crushing me. "I've brought war to your doorstep."

"No," Zion said firmly, pulling me close. "You've brought me hope. Love. A future. Whatever comes next, we'll face it together."

But as dawn began to break over the palace, casting long shadows across the courtyard full of armed men, I couldn't shake the feeling that our one perfect night had thrust us into a conflict that could destroy everything we'd just begun to build.

"What do we do?" I asked, watching more torches approach in the distance.

Zion's silver eyes hardened with determination. "We put your ex-husband in his place."
