Between Four of Us

Chapter 182

Ch. 182 / 250 Jun 22, 2025

The sun was warm and golden as Jade stepped off the jet, the tropical breeze immediately sweeping over her. Bali was breathtaking, even at first glance. Lush greenery surrounded the runway, and the scent of salty ocean air mixed with the distant aroma of frangipani flowers. For a moment, Jade let herself relax, breathing in the serenity of the place.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Enzo said, coming up beside her.

Jade nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips. “It really is. It feels like a dream.”

“Well, enjoy it while you can,” Thiago said with a grin as he descended the stairs behind them. “We’ve got a meeting to handle, but you’re free to explore—just stay out of trouble.”

Milan joined them, his expression calm and unreadable as always. “Alex has arranged for a car to take you to the spa. Consider it a little relaxation on us while we deal with business.”

Jade raised an eyebrow. “A spa day? What’s the catch?”

“No catch,” Milan replied smoothly. “Just take the time to unwind. You’ve had a lot thrown at you lately.”

She hesitated, but the allure of a massage in paradise was too tempting to pass up. “Alright. But don’t blame me if I’m too relaxed to deal with any drama when you get back.”

Thiago chuckled, ruffling her hair playfully. “We’ll take that risk.”

The car ride to the spa was a feast for Jade’s senses. Bali’s natural beauty surrounded her, from the terraced rice fields glistening in the sunlight to the colorful roadside markets bustling with life. The driver, a friendly local named Ketut, pointed out landmarks and shared bits of Balinese culture along the way.

When they arrived at the spa, Jade was greeted with a refreshing lemongrass drink and a warm smile from the receptionist. The facility itself was stunning—a tranquil oasis of bamboo structures, koi ponds, and serene garden paths lined with tropical flowers.

After selecting her treatments, Jade was led to a private room where soft Balinese music played in the background. The massage therapist, a kind woman named Ayu, began with a traditional Balinese massage, her skilled hands working out the tension that had been building in Jade’s shoulders for weeks.

For the first time in what felt like forever, Jade allowed herself to completely relax. The stress of Vivienne, the men’s cryptic behavior, and even the sabotage on the plane melted away under Ayu’s expert touch.

After the massage, Jade wandered into the nearby market district, curious to explore. She swapped her sandals for flip-flops and threw on a light sundress she’d packed, blending in with the laid-back vibe of the island.

The market was alive with vibrant colors and the hum of friendly chatter. Stalls overflowed with handcrafted jewelry, woven bags, batik fabrics, and fresh fruits that glistened under the sunlight. Jade stopped at a stand selling delicate silver bracelets, her fingers running over the intricate designs.

“How much for this one?” she asked, holding up a bracelet with a tiny lotus flower charm.

The vendor, an elderly woman with a kind smile, named a price that was surprisingly reasonable. Jade didn’t hesitate to buy it, slipping the bracelet onto her wrist as she continued browsing.

Her next stop was a food cart where the scent of grilled satay and peanut sauce made her mouth water. The vendor handed her a small plate of skewers, and she bit into one, savoring the rich flavors.

“This is amazing,” she murmured to herself, her mood lifting with every bite.
