Chapter 487: Reese Painful Childhood
At first, he wasn’t sure about hiring her. But then, she picked up a heavy bag of cement like it was nothing. That moment convinced him to give her the job.
He said he still remembered her clearly. She was the only girl he had ever hired as a laborer.
The video kept playing.
An Internet café owner spoke next. Then came a sanitation worker.
Both said the same thing—Reese worked hard and never complained.
Their words matched the restaurant owner’s story exactly.
The reporters didn’t know what to say after seeing the video.
On the live stream, the chat exploded with questions.
“Is Reese really telling the truth?”
“Are her aunt and uncle-in-law just trying to take her money?”
“I knew there was more to this…” someone whispered.
Just when things started to look better for Reese, the press room gasped.
“Reese’s aunt and uncle-in-law are live again!” a reporter shouted.
Bianca said nothing and just gave the reporters a confident smile. Without missing a beat, she put the live video on the big screen.
Everyone looked up. Reese’s aunt appeared, crying once more.
Through her tears, she pointed the blame at Bianca.
“We’ve always been honest,” she said. “We don’t lie. We’re not like those rich people who can pay others to say what they want. They’re twisting the truth just to ruin us.”
She sniffled and kept going.
“Now Reese has fame and a PR team. But us? We have nothing. And now we’re the ones being treated like villains…”
Her words hinted that Bianca had paid for fake proof.
People online started feeling sorry for her. Slowly, public opinion began to change.
But Bianca was not bothered at all. She gave a small smile and said, “I have something saved. Let’s listen and find out who’s really lying.”
She pulled out her phone and pressed play.
A recording filled the room. The voices were clear. It was Reese’s aunt and uncle-in-law.
“Why care about her grades?” the aunt said. “Girls just get married anyway.”
“Look at her now,” the uncle added. “She’s too fat. Who would want her?”
“After raising her all these years, she’s useless. No bride price at all. Might as well send her out to work early.”
“Exactly. School’s a waste on her!”
“Pull that brat out! She’s not going back!”
The recording played their voices loud and clear. It was only Reese’s aunt and uncle-in-law speaking.
Their tone was harsh and cruel—nothing like how they acted in front of the cameras.
When the recording stopped, the room went dead silent.
No one moved. No one spoke.
It was like a bolt of lightning had just struck them all.
Then, the internet lit up. People started talking all at once, shocked by what they had just heard.
“How did she get this recording?”
“Are those really Reese’s aunt and uncle-in-law?”
“Yeah, looks like them. But can we believe Reese’s side?”
“How could they even plan something like this?”
The couple was stunned.
Bianca had just played a hidden recording. It was a talk between the couple and Reese’s teacher and dean. It showed how they pushed her to leave school.
“No! That’s not us!” Reese’s aunt shouted. Her calm face was gone.
She looked panicked, which only made people online doubt her more.
Bianca gave a small smirk.
“Look, whatever happened, you still raised Reese. I respect that. But since you're not backing down, I’ll have to use my final card.”
She took out her phone and quickly made a video call.
A moment later, a man in a white coat appeared on the big screen. He looked calm and kind.
“Hello, Miss Scott,” he said with a warm smile.
Bianca turned to the reporters.
“You might’ve heard Reese’s uncle say the diagnosis came from our local hospital,” she said. “Well, meet the hospital director—Dr. Austen Stanley.”
The reporters looked confused.
Their pens were ready to write, but no one said a word.
All eyes stayed on the screen, waiting for what would come next.
Bianca looked at the screen and smiled.
“Dr. Stanley, can you please repeat what you just told me earlier?”
“Of course,” he said, sitting up straighter.
“Hello, everyone. I’m Austen Stanley, the director of the local hospital. I reviewed the medical report that Reese’s uncle-in-law showed. I can confirm—it did not come from our hospital.”
The room shook with surprise.
Gasps echoed across the press room. Reporters’ eyes widened.
If even the diagnosis was fake… what else had the couple lied about?
The live chat blew up with messages, flooding the screen nonstop.
“Wow! They really fake a diagnosis? That’s so sneaky!”
“So Reese was the victim the whole time!”
“I can’t believe I defended those two. This is disgusting.”
“Reese doesn’t deserve this. I feel so bad for her.”
“Thank you for clearing things up.” Bianca gave a small nod and ended the call.
Bianca faced the reporters and the live viewers. Her voice was strong.
“The proof is clear,” she said. “Now it’s up to you to decide what’s right. Reese, an artist under my agency, has been wrongly attacked and dragged through the mud. I won’t let it slide. We’re taking this to court.”
As her words rang out, the room burst into applause.
The reporters were moved by her honesty and boldness.
“Thank you all for coming,” Bianca said. “That’s all for now.”
She gave a final nod and walked toward the exit.
The reporters began packing up their things.
But before Bianca could leave, the door flew open.
A sharp voice rang out, stopping everyone in their tracks.
“Wait! This conference isn’t over yet!”
Everyone turned toward the voice.
Bianca looked up and saw Natalie standing there.
She wore a red dress. Her chestnut curls flowed down her back. Her chin was lifted with pride.
For a moment, Bianca remembered the first time they met.
Natalie walked over in tall heels.
She stopped right in front of Bianca, arms crossed, a smirk on her red lips.
“Natalie? What’s she doing here?”
“This doesn’t look good…” someone whispered.
The reporters quickly readied their cameras. They focused on Natalie and Bianca, sensing something big was about to happen.
Bianca’s brow tightened for a second, but she quickly regained her calm. She gave Natalie a polite smile.
“Miss King,” she said. “What brings you to my little press conference?”
Natalie let out a quiet scoff.
She had planned to use the live stream with Reese’s relatives to ruin Bianca’s name.
Her idea was to show up at the end and deliver the final hit.
But she didn’t expect Bianca to handle the relatives so well and turn the situation around.
Still, Natalie wasn’t worried.
She believed her next move would crush Bianca completely.
