Chapter 504: An Uproar Online
If Dave hadn’t gone public with their relationship at the last press conference, those companies wouldn’t just be delaying things. They would have cut ties with her agency completely.
And if that happened, even the five hundred million she raised by pawning the red diamond wouldn’t save the agency. Business would dry up, and the agency would collapse with no way to recover.
Bianca couldn’t understand why Reece would betray her so cruelly. The attacks just kept coming, and it felt like they would never stop.
This was a full-blown attack meant to ruin her completely.
The more Bianca thought about it, the colder she felt. Reece’s betrayal wasn’t just planned—it was cruel.
But what hurt the most was that she couldn’t prove her innocence.
Reece, the lawyer she once trusted, had become her biggest enemy. If she questioned the extra contract now, it would only make things worse and trap her even deeper.
Right now, her main focus is to gather all the signed contracts and carry out every step perfectly.
The truth couldn’t be changed, and lies couldn’t become real.
Bianca knew she needed solid proof to fight back against the rumors.
Rather than getting lost in the noise online, she focused on making sure the next projects went smoothly.
Still, the missing red diamond necklace stayed on her mind. Without it, she felt lost and unsure of what to do next.
Pawning it left a heavy feeling in her chest. She feared what would happen if Dave ever found out.
The necklace was a symbol of their connection. If Dave found out the truth, he would be furious.
Bianca made a silent promise to get it back once her money troubles were over.
Just then, her phone buzzed, snapping her out of her thoughts.
Her eyes widened when she saw the name on the screen.
It was Dave. Well, speak of the devil.
Why was he calling now? Did he already find out about the necklace?
Dave frowned as the phone kept ringing. Each second felt longer than the last.
At the same time, the scandal was exploding online. No matter what he did to calm things down, the chaos only worsened.
He knew Bianca must be feeling the pressure.
Just as he thought about ending the call and going to see her in person, she finally answered.
“Why did you take so long to pick up my call? Are you okay?”
Dave wasn’t sure if he should mention the news about Bianca. He didn’t want to upset her.
But Bianca was worried he might find out she had pawned the necklace. So, she pretended everything was fine and said she had just fallen asleep from being too tired.
“I’ll pick you up after work. I want to take you somewhere nice,” Dave said.
“Don’t you have a packed schedule today?” Bianca asked.
It surprised her that he called this early, especially since he’d been so busy and hardly had time for her.
“I am, but you matter more than anything,” Dave said. His deep voice came gently through the phone.
Bianca’s heart warmed at his words.
After work, he surprised her by taking her to an amusement park.
“Why here? I’m not a kid,” Bianca said, raising a brow.
But the place was empty except for the staff. It was clear Dave had booked the whole park just for the two of them.
Bodyguards silently stationed nearby, making sure no one bothered them.
“Sometimes, acting like a kid is the best way to relax,” Dave said with a smile.
He took her hand, and the bright lights around them lit up the park. For a moment, it felt like the world belonged to just the two of them.
After enjoying the fun, Bianca finally felt relaxed.
They sat on a bench as a soft breeze passed by. No one started a conversation, but they both felt peaceful and happy in a quiet moment.
“I found out Reece’s sudden betrayal was all Skylar’s plan,” Dave said out of nowhere.
Bianca blinked, surprised. She thought Lucas was the one who ordered Reece to do it.
Why would Reece take orders from Skylar? What was going on between them?
“Explain it to me. They…” she started.
Dave then told her everything Reece had confessed.
Bianca’s eyes widened. She didn’t expect Skylar would go this far just to get rid of her.
Was all this really needed? And what was going on between Skylar and Reece?
“Are they…” she asked, unsure.
Dave noticed her confused look and said, “You’re right. But from what I know, Skylar’s just using Reece. She doesn’t really care about him. She never planned to run away with him. She only wants to marry me.”
Bianca fell silent and was lost in her thoughts. Skylar had once said everything she did was to become Dave’s wife. No wonder she hated Bianca so much.
Skylar had told Reece to frame Bianca just to ruin her name. Now that she got what she wanted, why would she run away with Reece? If she never planned to leave with him, then she must have had a plan all along. And with everything Reece knew, what was she planning to do to him?
Bianca’s chest tightened. A cold fear crept in. She looked at Dave and said, “This is bad. Reece is in danger!”

Two days later, the heat was heavy and the air was thick. Reece stood at the dock where he was told to go, but Skylar wasn’t there.
He loosened his tie, checked his watch, and called her.
When she answered, her voice sounded nervous.
“Reece, thank God you’re here. I’m hiding in the old warehouse on the far west side. I think someone followed me. I tried everything to lose them, and now I’m waiting for you,” Skylar said in a trembling voice.
Reece’s heart started to race. Had Dave found out about their plan? Was he trying to stop them?
“Don’t worry, Skylar. I’m coming!” Reece said and ran toward the warehouse she mentioned.
As he moved, he noticed someone was following him too.
“Damn it,” he muttered.
Worried sick about Skylar, Reece ran faster without caring what might happen to him.
As soon as Reece rushed into the warehouse, he slammed into a man dressed in black.
He saw a flash of something sharp.
Without thinking, Reece lifted his arm to block it.
Pain shot through him as a blade sliced his arm, and blood started to drip.
An assassin?
Reece gritted his teeth and ignored the pain. He rolled to the side and quickly looked around the warehouse.
But Skylar wasn’t there.
His chest tightened in fear.
Did something bad happen to Skylar?
