Who's My Triplet's Alpha Daddy?

Chapter 52

Ch. 52 / 245 Apr 30, 2026

Kieran's POV

She chose me.

The words echo through my mind as I guide Thalia through the quiet corridors of the pack house, away from the celebration still humming in the great hall. She moves beside me with mechanical grace, her hand in mine but her spirit somewhere else entirely.

I feel everything she's trying to hide. The ache and the grief. The part of her that watches Lysander walk away over and over in her mind, wondering if she made the right choice.

That choice was not effortless. The pack will never know what it cost her.

I do.

Our private quarters feel different tonight—the same furniture, the same soft lighting, but charged with significance that wasn't there before. This is where we begin again. Where I prove that her sacrifice was not made in vain.

"You don't have to pretend." I close the door behind us, turn to face her. "Not with me. Not here."

"I'm not pretending." Her voice comes out thin, fragile.

"I can feel you, Thalia. The grief you're carrying. The doubt you're trying to suppress." I move closer, cup her face in my hands with gentleness I rarely show. "You made an impossible choice today. You're allowed to hurt."

Her composure cracks. Tears spill down her cheeks, silent and devastating.

"I keep seeing his face." The confession escapes her in broken pieces. "When he walked away. The way he looked at me like I'd destroyed something precious."

"You did what you had to do." I brush the tears from her cheeks with my thumbs.

"I did what duty demanded." Her eyes meet mine, raw with pain. "That doesn't make it hurt less, but it doesn’t mean I feel nothing for you."

I pull her against my chest, wrap my arms around her, hold her while she shakes. "I know, love."

We stand there for long minutes, her face pressed to my shirt, her tears soaking through the fabric. The mate bond hums between us—not with passion or desire, but with comfort and connection. The promise that whatever she's feeling, she doesn't have to feel it alone.

"Thank you." Her voice is muffled against my chest. "For not demanding more of me tonight."

"What kind of man would I be if I demanded anything after what you just did?" I press my lips to her hair. "You gave up part of your heart for me. The least I can offer is patience."

She pulls back enough to look at my face, searching for something I hope she finds. "You've been changing."

"I'm trying to." The admission comes easier than expected. "The man I was before—the one who treated the bond like ownership and dismissed your concerns as weakness—he would have destroyed what we have. Would have driven you straight into Lysander's arms permanently."

"What made you see that?"

"Almost losing you." I trace her jawline with gentle fingers. "Watching you pull away, knowing I was the reason. Feeling the bond strain under the weight of everything I was doing wrong." My voice drops. "I refuse to be that man anymore."

She studies me with those dark eyes that have always seen more than I wanted to reveal. "What kind of man do you want to be?"

"Who deserves you." I take her hands, lead her toward the bed. "The kind who listens when you speak instead of waiting for my turn to solve. The kind who sees you as a partner."

We sit on the edge of the mattress, knees touching, faces close.

"I want to be the Alpha you need." The words come from somewhere deep, somewhere honest. "Not just powerful and decisive, but adaptable and willing to change. Capable of admitting when I'm wrong."

"That's a lot to promise."

"Then hold me to it." I cradle her face again. "Call me out when I slip. Push back when I try to dominate instead of collaborate. Don't let me become comfortable just because you chose me."

"Kieran..." Her voice wavers.

"You chose me today." I press my forehead to hers. "I want you to keep choosing me. Every day, because I've earned it, not because the bond demands it."

When I kiss her, it's nothing like our usual intensity. No volcanic need, no desperate claiming. Just soft pressure, tender exploration, a relearning of what we are to each other.

She responds slowly, her lips parting beneath mine, her hands coming up to rest against my chest. It flares warm and steady between us, not the explosive passion I'm used to but something more sustainable. Something that could last a lifetime.

I ease her back against the pillows, take my time removing her clothes piece by piece. Each reveal becomes an opportunity to worship—lips against her collarbone, fingertips tracing her ribs, breath warm on her stomach.

"You don't have to—" she starts.

"I want to." I look up at her from my position over her body. "Let me show you what you mean to me."

Our intimacy is slower than it's ever been. I pay attention to every response—the hitch of her breath when I find a sensitive spot, the way her fingers curl in the sheets, the soft sounds she makes when pleasure builds. Each movement becomes an unspoken vow. Each touch a promise that I will not take her for granted.

When I finally enter her, it's with careful reverence. I hold still, let her adjust, watch her face for any sign of discomfort.

"Look at me." I wait until her eyes meet mine. "Stay here with me."

Her voice catches. "I'm choosing to be here."

The rhythm we find together is unhurried, deliberate. No urgency, no desperation—just two people reconnecting after a crisis that nearly tore them apart. My wolf sings with every movement, amplifying sensation, weaving us together more tightly than any physical act could achieve.

"I feel you." Her words come out breathless. "Everything you're feeling right now."

"Then you know what I'm promising." I brush hair from her face, never breaking the connection of our bodies.”

When release finally crests, it washes through us both simultaneously—shared, multiplied by connection, profound in ways that transcend physical pleasure. I hold her through the aftershocks, stroke her hair, kiss her temple.

We lie tangled together afterward, her head on my chest, my fingers tracing patterns on her bare shoulder. The grief hasn't left her—I feel it still, a quiet ache beneath the surface. But it's joined now by something else. Hope, maybe. The fragile beginning of trust rebuilt.

Her voice is sleepy, satisfied. "Please don't make me regret my choice."

"Never." I tighten my arms around her. "I will spend every day proving that you made the right one."

She drifts toward sleep, her breathing evening out, her body relaxing against mine. I stay awake longer, staring at the ceiling, feeling the weight of what she sacrificed settle into my bones.

Lysander loved her, in ways I failed to see until he forced me to look. And she loved him back—chose not to be with him, but loved him nonetheless.

She gave that up. For the pack, our children, for me. The responsibility of that gift is staggering.

I press my lips to her hair, breathe in her scent, feel her pulse warm and certain, waving between us.

"I will be worthy of what you gave up." The whisper disappears into darkness. "Whatever it takes. I will become the man you need."

She stirs slightly, murmurs something unintelligible, settles deeper into my arms.

Tomorrow will bring new challenges. The pack will need reassurance, and Lysander will need space. But tonight, I hold my mate and make promises I intend to keep.

She chose me. I will spend the rest of my life deserving that choice.
