When Love is not enough

84; A wild chicken

Ch. 84 / 95 Jan 26, 2026

When Andre announced that he was taking Camella home, Prince Clifford said he must be getting his bodyguards immediately. He cannot let him be alone henceforth.

“I'll be fine dad” Andre assured but Clifford said “You're a prince Andre, things are different now. You'll have to be driven home with a different car. And by tomorrow, we need to meet. There's a lot to discuss.

Against all persuasion, Andre ended up with two different bodyguards. As he dropped Camella off, he stepped out to walk her into the house.

“Thanks Cam, for today” he appreciated, intertwining his fingers with hers. He took a step further and paused, when Camella was not moving.

“You're welcome” and smiled. She wants him to hold her, to hug her and kiss her, but he appeared not to be thinking within that line.

“You don't want me to walk you in?” He asked and Camella shrugged. He nodded and said, “see you tomorrow then” and smiled before going away.

Camella waves at him as he leaves before getting in. She was so excited to share the news with her dad and nanny but they were already asleep when she got home. She got into her bedroom and threw herself on the bed.

Andre Torello is a Prince?

The night passed so quickly and the next morning, Andre was woken up by his dad's call. He sighed softly and said “Good morning father” he yawned and raised himself to a sitting position.

“Good morning prince Andre. I want to know when you will be coming around to the hotel today. I have a schedule of meetings with some certain people as well” Prince Clifford asked.

“I'm having a training session this morning. I’ll be available by noon” Andre replied. Once he was through with his basketball training, he could breeze in quickly to see his parents before returning to the company.

“Alright. I'll postpone a certain meeting until you are around” Prince Clifford said and hung up. Andre yawned again, he knew his life had changed from that moment on. Nothing is going to be as it has always been.

He stepped out of bed, took his bath and when he came downstairs, breakfast was ready. Two new employees were waiting to be introduced to him and he scrutinised them with his gaze for a few seconds before asking “Are you the new employees from the agency?”

“Yes sir” both of them answered and one introduced herself ”My name is Joy”. Andre nodded and glanced at the other woman “I'm Christine” the other said.

“Fine. You're both welcome. Your duties will be assigned to you by my mother. In the meantime, you're welcome” Andre said and dismissed them. He needs another male employee, probably two in that case.

Breakfast was sumptuous but light. He'd been dieting because of the tournament. His mother said very soon, he'll be eating with his real parents often and not with her. But she's fortunate that for years, they've been sharing a table together.

Andre soon got into his bedroom to get dressed when one of the servants informed Alice Torello that someone was outside, requesting to see her.

“Who is she?” Alice asked. Someone wanting to see her so early in the morning? And to think she wasn't expecting a guest.

“She said she's your neighbour, Mrs Logan” Christine informed and Alice's eyes brightened up. A Megawatt smile spread across her face and she nodded, oh, she was coming to say hello to her new neighbour and probably create a false nice impression of herself.

“Oh sure, let her in,” Alice instructed. She went to the top of the stairs and waited. It's going to be nice to meet Regina Logan again.

It wasn't long, Regina walked in. Christine made her comfortable and served her a glass of coffee. She glanced around, feeling really impressed by the interior design of the villa.

Regina sipped the coffee. The taste of it was familiar. She'd loved Alice coffee a lot, she was an expert in coffee making. This coffee only reminds her of those mother-son losers, a pair of losers that they are indeed.

It's unfortunate that some people were just destined to be poor and losers in life. Otherwise, how can someone explain to her that Andre would be better than he was, and expected her to let her daughter remain with him.

Leaving Andre to choose Patrick was the best decision Jasmine had ever made in her entire life. And that's because she was strongly behind her. No matter what she experiences in her marriage with Patrick, it was better than living in poverty with Andre.

And she knows that once Jasmine was able to get pregnant and have a child, her penthouse is sure. All she hope for now, is Jasmine positioning herself to get fucked properly to become pregnant. She must have a talk with her, she just has to get pregnant somehow.

“Nice meeting you again, Regina Logan” Alice Torello stated, standing at the penultimate stair, with a beautiful broad smile spread across her face.

Regina stood up quickly and glanced in the direction of the voice, it was so familiar that she wouldn't be able to recognise it even in her dreams. And as she turned, she saw Alice Torello staring at her from the stairs.

Regina's calm face turned into a frown. What the heck is this loser doing here and why is she standing at such a place like the madam of the house. She saw her smiling broadly and that infuriates her the most.

“Alice Torello. I didn't realise that you have been hired as a maid in this villa. I knew that a day will come when circumstances will force this kind of a job on you. But had I known you work here now, I would have brought along the leftover food I have at home for you” Regina sneered and chuckled aloud.

“You'll never change Regina. You seem to still be holding a grudge against me that you cannot bear to see me smile. And that grudge had really blinded your eyes that you cannot read things anymore” Alice said descending the stairs and walking over to the sitting room.

While Regina was still standing, Alice took a seat opposite her and crossed her legs “Tell me why you are here to see me” she asked, still smiling.

Regina eyed her. She even sat down with confidence. Just because the owners were probably not at home, she chooses to impersonate him or her. But she's Regina Logan and she is way smarter than Alice and her loser son.

“You see, no matter how a wild chicken tries to decorate its feathers and pretend to be a white phoenix, it will always still remain a wild chicken” Regina mocked, a side of her lips hived up with a smirk.
