When Love is not enough

43; Welcome back

Ch. 43 / 95 Jan 26, 2026

Camella shrugged and sank into the sofa really exhausted. She was amused by Fred's surprised looks. She also wasn't expecting it to turn out so easy like it did. Her nanny had told her just how to go about it, she did and it worked out for her good.

“I invited him over for lunch, and I got things straightened out between us. He will be here tomorrow. Let's organise a cocktail party to celebrate his return…” Camella instructed.

“Consider it done. Miss Wood” Fred Maxwell was going to leave when he paused “Miss Camella, do you need mineral water? You looked exhausted and fatigued” he suggested.

“No, not mineral water but Andre Torello” She blurted and sighed. Fred rolled his eyes, Andre? “I was so excited all the while that I was around him but when we parted ways, he stole all the excitement away and I felt completely empty…” she explained.

Fred inhaled deeply. He smiled and stepped out.

At home, Andre informed his mother about the two success stories he received that day. The enlistment in the tournament and his return to the Wood's Electroworld as a partner. This was indeed good news.

“Congratulations son. I am most impressed with the Basketball tournament enlistment. I didn't know you have become this excellent in basketball. My blessings are with you my son and my best wishes will take you there” Alice paused and sighed.

“Is there something else you want to say mom?” Andre asked. His mother's face seemed drained of any excitement and he wasn't happy about it.

“Yes, definitely. Why do you want to return to the Wood's Electroworld? Aren't there other companies you could work with? You've been humiliated once, Andre, don't go there again. You'll get a job elsewhere and you'll be respected…” she was discouraging him.

Andre smiled. Even he had thought that way in the past but it's different now.

“You should shake your worries away mom. I am going to be a partner, not an employee. I am a boss of myself and not the other way round…” he explained.

“Are you sure? I hope you are not being lured back to the company? Ella, your friend told me that the company wants you back at any cost” Alice probed.

“I'm sure and not being lured. And this Ella that you're calling my friend, I don't know her” Andre said. He cannot remember anyone by the name Ella in the company but anyways, since he is going back tomorrow, he'll find out who she is.

The next morning, Camella was having breakfast with her father. Sarah, her nanny, was a part of her family now, and they usually shared a table together. She'd share the story of the events of the previous evening with her nanny and she congratulated her.

Now, she has to share the news with her dad as well. As she took a slice of the pancakes, she chewed silently and said “We're having Torello back to the company today” she announced flippantly and wanted to see her dad's reaction.

Benson Wood paused. He abruptly raised his head to glance at his capable daughter and asked “did you mean Andre Torello?”

“I met with him yesterday and the news is, he'd agreed to return to the company but this time, not as the mechanical engineer in the works department but as a partner…” she declared.

She wants to know if her dad will decline it. Will he frown on her decision, making Andre a partner rather than a worthy paid employee? If he scolds her, she'll tell him she was in charge but when he spoke, it was completely different from her thoughts.

“You are smart, Cam. That attribute of yours was from your mother. Jenny was smarter than I ever was but she's not outspoken like me. But you, you got the combination of both your mother and I and that's why you are excelling.

I approve of your decision. He can be a partner, he deserves it. He'd proven himself worthy…” Benson Wood applauded his daughter.

“Thanks dad” Camella appreciated and gently tilted her head in Sarah's direction. She was happy. She was able to arrive at this end, all because the nanny advised her.

Then she stood up to go when Benson said “invite him over for dinner this weekend. I can't wait to hold him in a hug” he requested.

Camella nodded with a smile.

In the Wood's Electroworld, Andre Torello drives in with his newly bought Bentley. It cost him a fortune but he'd always loved it. As he got to the parking lot, he soon stepped out, dressed in a black jeans and a blue designer shirt.

He looked simple but gorgeous. His perfect physique gives his body an alluring admiration. Anyone seeing him will know he does work out. As he walked towards the elevator, he felt somehow uneasy.

This feeling usually comes to him when something interesting is about to begin. Anyways, that's true. He was going to be a part of the Wood's Electroworld now, it's definitely something interesting.

As he took the familiar elevator, he was going to the CEO's floor and he glanced at himself again while in the elevator, satisfied. As the elevator opened, he stepped out but was soon blinded with flower showers.

The grand floor was filled with important officials of the company and their secretaries. He was dazed, he wasn't expecting it but saw many of them throw blossoms at him and the petals toss was endless.

It was coming from over his head and soon, he was hugged by Fred Maxwell “Welcome back, buddy” he didn't expect that he would eventually break and accept to return, whatever magic Camella used on him, she shouldn't stop using it.

“Thanks buddy, I appreciate your optimism” he said, giving him a megawatt smile. He soon shook hands with the others and some eager secretaries like Mary didn't settle for a handshake but a hug.

Raising his head to look up, he saw her, the elegant boss lady, dressed gorgeously and screaming of class and elegance. Within seconds, he'd glance at her from her head to her toes, hundreds of dollars were sunk into her outlook.

He chuckled and thought he saw a gleam of emotions in her eyes. Her arms folded across her chest, her gaze didn't shift nor did she blink. She was wearing a broad smile and her beauty was breathtaking.

“Miss Wood” Andre mumbled, taking a few strides to get to her.
