I froze there for a moment, the thought of what he might do to me sent shivers down my spine, the knock continued but there was nothing that I could do with a gun pointed to my head.
"Who is that?"
"It is me, Mrs. Ciara I wanted to know if you are ready for a touch up of your makeup."
"I... I am... Sorry dear but you have to go away for now, I will send for you when I am ready for a touch." I knew even without seeing her face that she will be perplexed by the response that I gave her, hoping that she was going to insist on seeing me but instead she compiled and stepped away.
"She is gone Gerald, can you let me go, I can help you find a safe route to escape and I promise you that no one is going to know that you were here."
I was hoping to get through to him, but instead he scoffs, his gaze still filled with disdain.
"You think that I am frightened of anyone around here, I dare Ryan to come forward and he will have his head on a stalk as a souvenir to his guests, if I can't have you Ciara, then no one will."
He responded and held me firmly before clutching both my hands together with a rope, they were so tight that I could barely move an inch.
"Gerald what are you doing, please stop because now is not too late for us to sort things out, please I beg of you." I pleaded with the tears dripping down from my eyes.
"You do not have to worry, I am going to take good care of you that you won't even recall of a man call Ryan, now move slowly through that door, one noise from you and I am going to blow off your brain along side every other person around here."
He threatened and I complied, opening the door and walking through the hallway, he wrapped his hand around me with a gun piercing at my back while a fake smile was splattered on his face.
"Mommy!!"Herzl suddenly rushed towards me out of nowhere and embraced me.
"Herzl what are you doing here, shouldn't you be outside where the main event is taking place?"
"Everywhere is filled up, daddy asked that I check up on you."
"Tell him that he does not need to worry, I will join him soon." I replied and his eyes trailed to Gerald, it was as if he could see the fear in my eyes despite how much I tried to keep my cool.
"Uncle Gerald, why are you here, I thought that you are no longer friends with my mommy?" A deep frown spread across his innocent face.
"Hi Herzl, you know that your mommy and I will always be best friends and there is nothing that can separate us not even your daddy."
"Oh! I see.... Mommy, how about you come with us to see Daddy and also Grandma wants to see if you look beautiful in your new dress?"
"You have nothing to worry about, so you can go back there and tell her that mommy looks lovely, I just need to speak to Uncle Gerald and will join you in a moment."
"But Mommy.... " He suddenly stopped, a glint of apprehension in his eyes. "Alright mom" He immediately dashed out of the hallway and again I started walking towards the back door and was stunned to see that he already had his car packed at the back of the building.
"You do not have to do this Gerald, whatever it is we can settle it."
"There is nothing to settle here, you are mine and no matter what anyone does, I won't let them take you away from me."
"Fine, I will go with you willingly, but how about I change away from this wedding gown because it is going to create a lot of attention and you do not want that attention around you right?"
"You still do not get it Ciara, you are my bride and once we get out of here, we are going straight to the church where I get to wed you as my bride."
Those words sent shiver down my spine, was he truly going to force me into marrying him, I could not tell, but I know that he was out of control and will use any means to get what he wants.
"Get into the car right now!!" He yelled out at me and I did as he instructed. I stepped into the car, but as soon as he turned around to take the wheel of the car, a long slam from behind came through. He immediately felt dizzy and fell on the car.
It was Ryan that had appeared from nowhere and attacked him with a big stick, Herzl was behind him but stood inches away from the car.
"Mommy get down, Quick!!" Herzl yelled out while Gerald struggled to pick up his gun that had fell off his hand the moment that he was hit by the stick, I immediately did as he told, rushing out of the car with my wedding gown clutched firmly around my hands firmly.
Gerald finally took a stance with his gun in his hand pointing it at Ryan, a disdainful smile curled up his lips.
"I have always despise you and thought of a way that I could get rid of you for good, and right now, I think I finally got the opportunity, Ciara and I can become one family without any one interrupting."
"Gerald please, pull down your gun, I will come with you and do whatever you wish, but please just take down the gun."
"You are definitely going to come with me, but it is going to be a problem with him around." His eyes were filled with determination, he cracked his gun and just as he was about to pull the trigger, the cops immediately surrounded him.
