Jake P.O.V.
In the truck...
I am sitting in the front of the seat, staring out the window, worried about what is going to happen once Avery finds out we are her mate. Will she accept us or reject us forever? I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in.
But I do know I love this girl, and I will do the best I can to make her fall in love with me. What if. No, I thought, withholding my chest because I felt like I would die. I need her, Avery, in my life. So be it if I must wait until she can trust us again.
I do anything for her. I would die for her if she wanted me to do that. But I hope she doesn't want that. I thought to my mind. Please, God, don't let her reject us I asked him with my eyes closed and my head down with my hands in a praying mood.
"Jake?" I lifted my head and turned my head and saw Elijah staring at me with a concerned look on his face. I can see his hurting, too, because he knows that he is her mate once Avery finds out.
"Yeah, man," I replied to him.
"You think she will want us." I mean, her mate?" He asked me with a nervous and broken voice. I sighed and looked in the rear mirror. I saw Avery's beautiful, peaceful face, and she was still asleep; thank God, I didn't want her to us talking about her.
"But we need to tell her, man," I heard Elijah say to me.
I let out a sigh, and I knew he was right but not, yet I thought to myself, but soon.
We kept driving in silence until we heard Avery's soft movement in the back, and we both knew she was getting up and she was going to be asking questions about why we were acting nice to her and always getting angry when another male came around her and we acted like animals.
By the time we made it to her house, there was decoration, servers, food trucks, balloons everywhere by the pool, and a big tent with pink and, orange, yellow, her favorite colors we helped buy for her party.
I know why her parents would let us; they already know we are her mate, and they have been so excited since they found out about our parents.
"Hey! Guys," I heard Mr. Williams say with a smile.
"Hello boys," Have you seen my baby- "but, before she finished her words, Avery was up and behind us, rubbing her eyes when Mrs. Williams said before she saw Avery and pushed us out of the way to get to her daughter.
"Avery!" She said, hugging her daughter with a tight grip.
"Where have you been, young lady she said worriedly.
"Oh, Mom, I am fine, Mom," Avery said, still trying to wake up. But I see on her face she has not been sleeping very well. I need to have a little talk about her getting plenty of rest.
She looks like she is going to fall asleep right here in front of all of us. Maybe she should go to her room and sleep more before her party. She has time to go up there and get a couple more sleep before everyone comes.
So, I look over at Elijah; I give him a look to help me with Avery up to her bedroom. He nodded his head, and we both grabbed her arms after her mom let her go.
"Mr. and Mrs. Williams, will it be alright to take Avery to her room so she can get more sleep before her party?" I didn't care if they said yes or no. We pulled Avery away from her parents, and we walked inside her house, up the stairs, and went around the corner.
We saw her purple and white door. We walked towards it, and I saw Avery yawn; she could barely keep her eyes open.
We walked inside her room and walked her over toward her bed, and we both started taking off her shoes, and she was trying to stop us, but we kept on taking them off. We both lifted her on the bed and put her in the middle, and we both laid down next to her.
We wouldn't stay long, ensure she was okay, and make sure she fell asleep, but what happened next? We didn't realize we were both falling asleep right beside her, and I had her in my arms, and she let out a little moan, and I started hearing her cute little snores.
That was when I closed my eyes and knew Elijah was sound asleep. I had a smile and a tight grip around Avery's waist, and I had my face inside the back of her neck.
A couple of hours later...
Avery P.O.V.
Oh, my, what a dream I had; I didn't realize I was in my bed with two strong arms wrapped around me. So, I did whatever a girl would do. I screamed and started hitting them everywhere.
"What the? "I didn't let Jake finish because I was kicking him out of my bed, and I went over to Elijah. I started hitting him, and I kicked him out of bed.
"What the ugh" he didn't get to finish his words either; I heard a thump on the floor by Elijah hitting his ass on the floor, I think. But I need them to get out of the room before they do something mean to me like they always did when we were kids.
I licked my lips, sat in bed, grabbed the covers, and hid my chest away from their straying eyes.
"Why are you in here in my room!" I waited for them to tell me why.
"Leave at once!" I demand them. But I didn't want to leave, but I am not going to tell them that. So, Elijah opened his mouth and said this.
"We wanted to make sure you were okay and make sure you got to sleep before your big birthday party, princess." He told me with a sweet manly voice. It sounded like he cared about me.
I thought with a roll of my eyes, and I had to stop dreaming about all three of having a relationship and living happily ever after in a big castle. I know they don't want me because they always told me that.
I started crying, and I hid my face on my knees and rocked back in forth until I felt the bed move. I didn't know when they both were on my bed and holding on to in their arms while they let me cry.
"Shh, baby, let it out, princess." I heard Elijah say into my ear and kiss my forehead, and I felt him grip me tighter.
"Avery, sweetheart, we are so sorry." We will make it up to you if it takes the rest of our life, baby" We will, I promise you, Avery," I heard Jake say with a serious voice but a little bit of worry in there, and he bought my hand up to his lips, and he kissed me it.
God, I hope they are telling me the truth because I can't go through this again with my heart as I did with them when I was little and started having strong feelings for them.
I pray they are telling the truth. If they lie to me and just use me as a joke and treat me like they used to, it will kill me this time.
"I am begging you, please don't break my heart," I said with my face inside their chest, and it was just a mumble, but I hoped they didn't hear me.
