The Ruthless Alpha's Innocent Breeder

Chapter 139

Ch. 139 / 140 Jan 12, 2026

Claudius

Seeing that the tracker that I asked Caspian to chip on Octavio's skin after he was locked in the cell was moving towards the forest. I got up from my seat and prepared myself to come after him to get my pup back and bring Perseus to safety.

"I don't get it," Caspian said.

"This part of this forest where Octavio is heading to is a dead end," he hummed. I looked down at Caspian.

"What do you mean by it's a dead end?"

"Alpha, there is no escape route. Octavio knows the Regulus territory better than anyone. It's impossible that he isn't aware that when he run to do this forest, our deltas would easily corner him, and avoid being captured by our deltas. The only thing left to do is to jump from the cliff."

My lips parted in shock.

"I know what that old hog is about to do," I said.

Eero grabbed my arm to make me face her. "You do? What is it?"

But how can I tell her Octavio's evil plan?

"Claudius, tell me! What is he going to do on that cliff?" Eero howled angrily at me. Her eyes turned golden brown and her claws started to dig on my skin.

"Octavio will jump on the cliff. He escaped from his cell to kill himself and he took Perseus because he wanted Perseus to die together with him," Miguel said.

I cupped Eero's face to stop her from facing Miguel. She didn't like what she had heard from Miguel even when it was the truth and she might end up attacking and injuring him badly.

"I won't let that happen. I won't fail you this time around. I will bring Perseus back to you before this day ends," I promised to her.

Eero holds my arm. She shakes her head in fear.

"I'm coming with you. I have a gift of healing remember? I have kept it a secret from everyone and didn't use it, but I still have that ability from the Moon Goddess."

Miguel and the other pack members who were hearing about this for the first time have their jaws on the floor.

"Eero, you're a special shifter of the Moon Goddess?" They asked to confirm if they had heard it right." Eero nodded her head and gazed up at me again.

"Bring me with you. In case something happens and one of you becomes injured, I can use my ability to heal any of you... or our pup, if he was hurt," she said to me.

We couldn't afford to lose more time, so I agreed. We traveled to the forest and started looking for Perseus and Octavio.

"Perseus!" Eero screamed while I used the gust of the wind as my ally, allowing my son's scent of the wind to tell me where are their exact location.

"That's it," Caspian said when we were getting close to the other end of the patchy forest.

"I can already hear the waves of the sea that is waiting down that cliff."

Eero shoved my hand and ran towards where the cliff was.

"Mama!" Perseus's voice made us all follow the same path where Eero ran.

"Mama, Papa Miguel, D-Daddy, p-please save me from him," Perseus begged. Octavio was holding Perseus on the collar of his pajamas.

"Octavio please," Eero begged. She was about to take a step closer to them when Octavio took a step back and dragged Perseus with him. They nearly fumbled to the cliff, which made Perseus sob harder.

"Please..." Eero begged again.

"Please what?" Octavio laughed and in the middle of laughing, he began to cough blood.

"Wolf's bane. Octavio drinks a wolf's bane," my wolf said to me. Octavio clutched his chest. He looked like he was having a hard time breathing which means that the effect of wolf's bane was starting to kick in.

"I gave my blood, sweat, and even tears to serve Codrus. I dealt with all of his bullshit. If the two of you didn't show up after his wife died together with their son. I'd be his heir, I'll be the Alpha, but you showed up and some prophecy about you ruined my life."

Octavio pulled Perseus in his arms and all that we could do was stretch our arms, as if we could reach Perseus by doing that.

"If the two of you wanted so bad to be the Alpha and ruled over Regulus, then fucking fine." Octavio coughed blood again. He wiped it off and laughed.

"You two can keep the Alpha position, but you know what they say. You can't have great things without a little sacrifice. I won't go down and die either without making sure that the two of you will suffer, so I'm taking your precious pup with me. Consider this the price that you need to pay for keeping the Alpha position."

Octavio took a deep breath. His legs that were shaking so badly couldn't keep him standing. He lets go of Perseus before he finally falls to the ground and we all see Perseus as his feet slide from the ground causing him to fall from the cliff.

Eero screamed our pup's name. My wolf took over my body and I managed to catch Perseu's arms, with his body hanging on the cliff and I was laid down on the ground to make sure that my son wouldn't fall further.

Fear laced his eyes and he tried to withdraw from my hold of him after he saw me on my shifter form.

Perseus, out of fear, continued to struggle and he was already slipping from my hand.

"Pup..." I groaned and attempted to hold him tighter. Perseus finally stopped wriggling to get away from me.

"C-Claudius... is that you? D-Daddy Claudius?" I smiled at him.

Perseus used his other hand to hold onto my arm.

"Please, don't let go of me, I don't want to die, D-Dad," he said with a shaky voice. Using my full strength, I managed to pull him back to safety.

Perseus hid on my arm as soon as he saw Octavio next to us, but the old beta of the Regulus was already dead because of the wolf's bane that he had drunk.

"It's okay, pup. It's done, you're safe. You and your mama are here. No one will ever harm you again. We can finally be happy," I said to him and opened my arm to Eero, joining us in our first hug as a family.
