Eero's Perspective
Caspian and Miguel cleared their throat in a not-so-subtle way in an attempt to make me and Claudius break away from the hug that we were sharing.
"I think I caught a cold. I can't stop coughing," Caspian said again while he continued to force himself to cough. I chuckled and attempted to push Claudius away.
"They are hinting that we should stop flirting in front of them," I whispered to Claudius.
"I don't give a damn about them, Eero."
"Why don't you two search for your fated mate or second chance mate so you won't be jealous anymore?" Claudius asked Caspian.
"Did you think that I'm not trying to do that? I'm desperately looking for my fate mate, dude, but maybe if you'd stop dragging my ass in different places then I'll be able to find her."
Our eyes then gathered to look at Miguel, who was enjoying his toasted marshmallow. I'm in no rush to look for her. It's called fated mates, when the timing is right, I'll find her." Both Caspian and Claudius stopped themselves from laughing at Miguel.
"I didn't know that Miguel is a hopeless romantic," My mate said through telepathy.
"Yeah, I think he's more hopelessly romantic than most of the female shifters that I know."
"It's twenty minutes since we set up this mini camping ground in the garden. Perseus didn't even peek at his window to see what's going on down here."
"Are you sure that he isn't stealing glimpses of what's happening down here?" I said meaningfully before I pasted my eyes back to the window of Perseus's room.
We saw his little eyes move the curtain a bit to take a peek. After Perseus realized that we caught him peeking, he ducked so fast.
"What now?" Caspian asked me. I cleared my throat.
"I can't eat anymore. I'm already full. I prepared a lot of marshmallows and hotdogs, too bad Perseus doesn't want to come down and help us finish this. Should we just ask the serving omega to eat these before they clean up?"
I sat back on the camping chair. Claudius was smiling from ear to ear.
"Baby, what was that?" I glanced at the window again.
"Your pup is on his way down here," I said. On cue, thanks to our sharp sense of hearing. We heard as Perseus unlocked his room and came out.
"Perseus wanted so badly to experience this before. He's just a kid, even when he wants to stay mad, Perseus wouldn't know how to stop himself from giving in on temptations."
The four of us pretended that we were engrossed in our conversation even when I knew that Perseus was already standing behind us.
"Mama?" Perseus called shyly. Everyone stopped speaking and I was the only one who turned in his directions.
"The smell of the hotdogs and barbecue is coming inside of my room." Perseus stopped speaking. His eyes widened. He gasped and pointed at the chocolate fountain for the roasted marshmallow.
"I want a roasted marshmallow dipped in chocolate, Mama," he asked shyly after he had composed himself.
"Do you want to roast the marshmallow yourself?" Claudius offered to his son.
Perseus wanted to ignore his father, but the offer was a must-try and too tempting that Perseus quickly set his pride aside.
Claudius expected Perseus to sit next to anyone, but him, so when our pup squeezed himself between me and Claudius. Claudius looked so pleased that his cheeks were burning red.
"We decided that we want to sleep in tents tonight to complete the camping experience." Claudius began. Perseus stopped munching his marshmallow.
"Your mattress is way more comfortable than the sleeping bag, but it'll be fine. Do you want to join us?"
Perseus looked at the tent at the small curve on his lips further stretched.
"I'm sleeping with your Papa Miguel," Caspian said to Perseus.
"There's only two tents. If Uncle Caspian is sleeping with Papa Miguel Mama and I will sleep in the other tent. Where will you sleep?" Perseus asked seriously.
"In that hammock? But aren't the mosquitos going to feast on you? As well as bugs, and other insects?" Perseus pouted his lips, genuinely showing his concern for Claudius.
The tent was big enough to accommodate the three of us, but of course, it didn't occur to my son that when Claudius asked him to sleep in the tent too, it meant that the three of us would share the same tent.
"Yes, I'll sleep in the hammock. I'll guard you and your mother's tent," Claudius said and all that I could do was flash an apologetic look at him while Caspian and Miguel were close to crying as they tried not to laugh because of the situation.
"There you go." Perseus carefully accepted the cup of warm milk from Claudius. He tasted it immediately and though he won't admit it yet through words, he liked the way Claudius made his milk.
"Thank you..." Perseus trailed not knowing what to call Claudius. Perseus turned his back on him and tucked himself in the sleeping bag.
"Goodnight, mate," Claudius said to me using mind link.
"Goodnight, Claudius, but are you sure that you'll be fine in the hammock? I can talk to your son and tell him to let you sleep inside the tent too." Claudius only shook his head at me and then he closed the tent.
Silence fills our tent. Perseus closed his eyes after he had put himself in his go-to sleeping position. He suddenly opened his eyes and sat up.
"Yes, pup, what is it?" I asked him.
"We can't just let him sleep in the hammock, Mama. The insects will surely feast on him and he might get sick." Perseus held my hand, forcing me to get up but I pretended that I was too sleepy to get up.
"Tell him to just sleep here with us. It's fine with me," he said, but my eyes were closed and I was faking my snores.
Perseus then got up and opened the tent.
"Fine, then I'll tell him myself."
