Ch. 83 / 120 Jan 16, 2026

" Urghhh!" Arnold groaned loudly, as he slumped heavily on the red couch in the Alpha's house. His hazel eyes lazily looked around his father's house, trying to see maybe his father, the Alpha, was around.

" What's up with you?"

A man looking agile and handsome, walked in to where Arnold was. He appeared a little bit young, but he was already in his fifties. The man was none other than Adolf, the Alpha of the Crescent moon pack, and also the father of Arnold.

He was surprised to see his son looking helpless and frowned slightly, wondering if it is about his mate again.

" Just the usual thing dad, "

He sat up straight despite how exhausted he was and slouched his head a little bit as a sign of respect.

" Hummed," Adolf took his seat and faced Arnold, his expression was stoical, and it made Arnold to ponder on what his father was thinking.

" I still believe you are going to find her. Just don't rush it okay?"

Adolf grabbed his son's left shoulder and squeezed it a bit while giving him an encouraging smile.

The Alpha Prince sighed and complained, " But when Dad? When exactly? Am starting to give up on this search honestly, "

He poured out his frustration and relaxed himself back on the red couch. Then, he massaged his temple with his right fingers.

Adolf continued to smile, and he crossed his legs together.

" I understand son, but you shouldn't give up now. Have you tried visiting all the packs you know?"

He inquired patiently from his son, as he stared at the latter.

" Except only one, but I don't think she can be there," came Arnold's reply to his father's question. The Blazzing Red Moon pack was the pack he least have in his mind and thought his mate couldn't be there. He was just assuming and following his thought.

" You never can say son, the unexpected might actually be the answer, " Adolf tried to convince his son to visit the Blazzing Red Moon pack, and maybe his mate might actually be there. He believed Arnold shouldn't just assume things like that without been sure of it.

Arnold thought about what his father said and catched some sense in the words he heard. But he was still doubting, as he was scared of failing again. The feeling of not seeing what he was looking for was really annoying and frustrating to him. It wasn't an easy thing, but what his father uttered just now was true.

" I guess I will have to visit that pack too, and I hope for her to be there."

" I hope so too, and I pray the goddess will support you, "

Adolf nodded slightly and stood up from his sitting position. Since his son was already convinced, he decided to take his leave, so as to give him some alone time.

" Thanks Dad, "

Arnold was glad to have his father advised him, and he expressed his gratitude with a gentle face.

His father patted his back lightly and ambled out of the room.

Arnold's mind was now set, and he planned to visit the Blazzing Red Moon pack the day after tomorrow.

Phoenix city, America.

A knock could be heard and Camela, who was in the cooking room, preparing for dinner, frowned and immediately thought it was Lexa knocking the door.

So, she barked annoyingly and smiled sinisterly, already thinking of different ways to torture her foster daughter.

" Airhead! For over three hours, you just have the gut to come back hun?! So worthless and irresponsible!! You are dead today!"

Camela continued barking, as she sauntered to where the door was and finally opened it, but it wasn't Lexa.

She was surprised to see two men, which one of them appeared like a cop, and she almost freaked out.

The woman never expected any other person apart from her foster daughter and wondered why the two men were in front of her house. She was nervous but still tried to compose herself and arched her brows at the two guys standing in front of her.

" How may I help you two?"

" Good evening ma'am, a report was filed on your daughter and that's why we are here," The man who appeared like a cop, stepped forward and explained in a polite tone.

" Yes, your daughter stole a bag containing lots of money and ran away! Such a disgrace!"

The second man beside the cop, folded his arms over his chest and scoffed loudly, seemingly annoyed.

" Hey! Watch how you are going to talk to me, and I don't know anything about what you are saying!"

Camela knitted her eyebrows deeply and spat back at the man, who just scoffed.

Things were starting to get vivid for Camela, and she cursed Lexa inwardly. No wonder, she wasn't back since! She told herself thoughtfully and snapped her right thumb with her right middle finger together.

" Ma'am, it doesn't mean and as long as you are related to her, we have to hold you accountable for it. We are sorry but that's the rule, so please step out, "

The cop moved away from the entrance and gestured for Camela to come out, but the woman refused, disagreeing with what the cop said.

" Why me? I don't even know her at all, so you have no right to hold me responsible, and where is your identity card?"

Camela was really enraged and continued to curse Lexa inwardly. She felt like killing the young girl for real this time, for what she did.

The woman didn't want to be responsible for Lexa's action and tried to find a way to free herself.

The man beside the cop sneered and felt like slapping Camela.

" Do you think you can lie to us, everyone in this street knows you are the thief's foster mother, so why are you denying it now?!" He hissed with fury.

Camela ignored the man talking and snorted, then she faced the cop.

The cop took out his identity card and showed it to her.

" Please move now, as I don't want to drag you forcefully because you are a woman."

The cop was getting impatient, but he didn't want to hurt her since Camela is a woman. And it was in their law to respect women at all cost.

Camela was rendered speechless as it all felt like a dream. She became immobile and stared like a lost soul. This was all Lexa's fault! She screamed in her head and the hate she had for the girl doubled.

The woman felt herself been dragged by the man beside the cop, as she didn't step out and the next thing she knew was, been locked up in the city jail.

Camela couldn't believe what happened to her, and she vowed to get rid of Lexa, the next time she sees her.

Beware Lexa, I mustn't see you or consider yourself dead!

She growled and tugged her hair violently.
