The Rebirth of My Dead Billionaire Wife

Chapter 209

Ch. 209 / 300 Apr 25, 2026

The energy in the gymnasium had finally begun to die down. The crowd had dispersed into smaller groups, and the buzz of gossip about Camila’s dramatic exit had faded into murmured conversations. The once-tense atmosphere now felt calmer, the music returning to a soft, romantic melody that filled the air.

Avery stood near the edge of the dance floor, her fingers lightly brushing the skirt of her silver gown. The events of the night had left her emotionally drained, but relief was starting to seep in. Camila was gone, and for the first time all evening, she felt like she could breathe.

“Hey,” Shawn’s voice came from behind her, soft and steady.

She turned to see him standing a few steps away, his green eyes reflecting the twinkling lights above. His expression was calm, yet there was an intensity in his gaze that made her heart skip a beat.

“Hey,” she replied, her voice quieter now that the chaos had passed.

Shawn stepped closer, closing the space between them until they were standing only inches apart. He studied her face, as though searching for any lingering traces of doubt or pain.

“I owe you an apology,” Shawn began, his tone filled with genuine remorse. “Again.”

Avery shook her head, her lips curving into a faint smile. “You’ve already apologized, Shawn. You don’t have to keep doing it.”

“Yes, I do,” he insisted, his voice firm but tender. “I need you to know how sorry I am. For doubting you. For letting myself get caught up in my own insecurities.”

Avery’s eyes softened as she looked at him. “Shawn, it wasn’t just you. I had my own doubts too. About us. About myself. Tonight wasn’t just about Camila—this whole thing made me realize I need to start trusting myself more.”

Shawn reached for her hand, his touch warm and grounding. “You should. Because you’re incredible, Avery. I don’t just mean how you look tonight—though, for the record, you’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen.”

Her cheeks flushed, but she didn’t look away.

Shawn’s voice dropped lower, his words more intimate. “You’re strong, kind, and so much more than the world gives you credit for. And I promise, no matter what happens, I’ll always see that. I’ll always see you.”

Avery felt her heart swell at his words, her fingers tightening around his. “You really mean that?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Of course I do,” Shawn said, his green eyes locking onto hers. “Avery, we’ve been through so much already. And yeah, I’ve made mistakes. But I’m done letting my fears get in the way. You and me? We’re endgame.”

“Endgame?” Avery repeated, a small laugh escaping her lips despite the overwhelming emotions building in her chest.

“Yeah,” Shawn said with a grin, his confidence returning. “No matter what life throws at us, we’ll make it through. Together.”

Avery’s smile widened, and for the first time all night, she felt a sense of peace. “Endgame,” she echoed, her voice steady.
