Alexei
My heart was brimming with excitement as we made our way to the Blood Rose Pack House, a grand structure nestled amidst ancient trees and adorned with dark crimson roses. The pack house had an ancient, majestic quality, a testament to the pack's wealth and power.
However, my thoughts were consumed by a singular desire – to see my mate, Tori, up close. Ashford seemed to sense my impatience and offered a piece of his mind.
"Alexei, I need to emphasize the importance of not taking any reckless actions," he cautioned. "I recognize that look; it's the same look Damon had for Serena. I understand your eagerness to meet your mate, but we must tread carefully. Otherwise, you may not even get the chance to see her up close. The Blood Rose Pack House is a place of great significance, and we can't underestimate it."
I bit my lower lip, mulling over his words. "I get it, Ashford. I really do. But I've waited so long for this moment. It's agonizing to know that Tori is within my reach, yet I can't do anything."
Ashford attempted to soothe my impatience. "We have a plan, Alexei. We'll meet Tori at the right time, following our plan meticulously. Let's not jeopardize everything by acting recklessly. Your time will come; just be patient for a little longer."
With that, I decided not to argue any further. It was futile to challenge Ashford's wisdom at this point, so I silently followed him as we continued our journey.
As we moved deeper into the pack house, the magnificence of the place left me breathless. The hallways were adorned with intricate carvings of wolves and roses, and the fragrance of the roses filled the air, surrounding me with their sweet scent. Since I was with Ashford, the guards allowed us to pass, their uniforms bearing the emblem of the Blood Rose Pack – a crimson rose entwined with a silver wolf. I carefully noted their positions, etching their watchful eyes into my memory as part of a plan to sneak inside in the coming days.
As we strolled through the corridors, I couldn't resist my curiosity and asked Ashford, "Where do you think Tori is right now?" My voice quivered with excitement.
Ashford, perceptive as ever, chuckled and replied, "Don't push your luck, my friend. I can see through that seemingly innocent question. I'm not going to reveal her whereabouts."
We continued our journey, and as we ventured deeper into the heart of the pack house, I became increasingly consumed by my eagerness to see Tori. I was so lost in my desire that I didn't realize my spirit wolf, Loki, had started to growl softly within my mind. Loki had always been my wise and comforting companion, but now, he displayed signs of concern.
"Listen to Ashford, Alexei," Loki's voice resonated in my thoughts. "This isn't a wise path to follow. Sneaking into the pack house could lead to grave consequences. The guards are everywhere, and you risk exposing yourself to danger."
Despite Loki's warnings, my determination was unwavering. My overwhelming desire to see Tori had clouded my judgment, and I responded with a hint of stubbornness, "Loki, I understand the risks, but I can't wait any longer. I need to see Tori. It's something I must do."
Loki resigned with reluctance, "Tsk! You really are stubborn. Just be careful."
With Loki's cautious acceptance, I pressed on with my plan. I soon declared, "I need to go to the bathroom," causing Ashford to halt his steps. He sighed heavily and grabbed my arms, a mix of frustration and concern in his eyes.
"Damn it, Alexei," he murmured, "Aren't you listening? I told you not to push your luck." I could see the exasperation in his expression, but I met his gaze with determination, showing him that I wouldn't abandon my desire to see my mate.
He ruffled his hair in apparent frustration. "Fine! But make it quick."
My excitement soared at his concession, but before I could respond, he retrieved a small object from his pocket. "One hour, Alexei. That's all I can give you. Take this seal of mine. It might help you in case the guards catch you."
I nodded and accepted his seal, grateful for his understanding. He directed me with a jerk of his head toward the western corridor, guiding my way. I hastened my steps, navigating through the passageways, trying to remain unnoticed.
Following the faint trail of Tori's scent, I reached a grand room with a massive wooden door. My heart raced with anticipation, knowing that Tori was just on the other side. But when I tried to open the door, it wouldn't budge; it was locked. Frustration gnawed at me, but I couldn't give up now, not when I was so close to seeing my mate.
With desperation fueling my determination, I quickly scanned my surroundings. That's when I noticed an adjacent room. Without a second thought, I entered it and found that the door wasn't locked. I stepped inside and realized that this room was conveniently situated near the balcony of Tori's room.
A sly smile spread across my face as I grasped the opportunity before me. I could use the proximity of this room to access Tori's balcony and sneak into her quarters. My heart raced even faster, and I couldn't suppress the exhilaration of getting closer to her. It was a chance I couldn't pass up, a chance I was willing to embrace and gamble on.
I moved stealthily, climbing over the stone railings of Tori's balcony. I stepped inside her room, and the moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle, ethereal glow on everything it touched. And there, in the center of the room, I saw a silhouette of a woman. She stood there beneath the faint moonlight, draped in a delicate satin sheet that clung to her every curve. My breath caught in my throat, and I knew, without a doubt, that I had found the woman who had captured my heart.
It was Tori, my mate, and I was one step closer to the moment I had longed for.
