I was going insane after looking for my mate for three hours. I was fucking losing my mind. Nalya was taken right from under my nose. The woman she was with earlier must have been involved. I should have known she was in danger, the look in her eyes should have been enough to alert me. I examined the slain body of this woman, she was part of my pack and yet was used to lure out my mate.
" All the roads have been closed, and my guards along with yours are searching. They won't make it far," Layth assured me. I couldn't answer, no sound managed to leave my mouth. A car stopped right beside me, and Nadia jumped out, rushing towards me, Clooney following closely behind her.
" Rhaegar, what happened? Where's my daughter!" Nadia was panicking, and her cheeks were tear-stained.
" CCTV shows her leaving the party with a woman, and we don't see anything from there," Nathaniel was the one who answered her, holding his mate tighter, Kiyana was crying.
" But what happened to the CCTVs around every corner in this pack?" she said, hysterical. There are recording cameras around the pack, but none could catch my mate.
" I'm sure someone deleted the footage," Kendrick answered, still looking at the computer.
" Could it be Arlon William? Is he working with someone from the pack?" Clooney asked. I was surprised he knew about the rogue. It only meant Nadia trusted him.
" Yes, but who could it be?" Layth murmured.
" It must have been someone in a great position of power to access the camera headquarters," Clooney said, pressing his phone. His company dealt with technological matters. He spoke to someone over the phone and came back.
" There's footage your pack cameras couldn't show that mine probably did. My tech guys are working on getting it," he said, and I nodded.
I spent the morning searching for my mate, but I didn't find a trace of her or the rogue.
We were back at the pack after someone located the woman's family. According to them, she was hard-working and had no ties to rogues, they suspected someone threatened her to draw out the Luna.
I sighed and went back to my suite. I felt a pain in my chest when I saw my son. I didn't see him the whole day because I was looking for his mother. I carried him in my arms, and he laid his head against my shoulder. My brother's mate, Marilyn smiled sadly at me and caressed Khai's face.
" He's so quiet today. I'm sure he feels his mother's absence," she said softly. I sat down on a rocking chair with Khai. Indeed, my son was silent yet was awake. He was a little ball of energy and would be squealing by now, but not today.
" I'll find her," I promised him. I will even if I have to burn everything to the ground. It was my fault she was taken, I was too relaxed when the threats stopped, and I allowed myself freedom of mind, but my enemies were busy devising their next move.
Marilyn received a call and excused herself to answer. She walked in minutes later with a mug of hot coffee for me, I needed it.
" Roman was trying your phone, but it was off," she informed me, taking a now-sleeping Khai from me. I checked my pockets but didn't find my phone.
" I must have lost it," I told her.
" Juliana went with mine, this just came in,"
My head snapped to her. Juliana was back in the pack?
" Juliana Tomson?"
" Yes, she came looking for Luna, and when she didn't find her, she borrowed my phone to call her, but after her call, she went with it," the girl said innocently. Juliana, my mind went into a frenzy. Could she have something to do with my mate's disappearance? No, It couldn't, Juliana doesn't even know Arlon.
' You fool! That woman despises our mate because she thinks she stole us from her!' my wolf roared. My mind was refusing to believe Juliana would do that. Nalya was the woman I loved and my Luna. Was Juliana capable of endangering her life? I needed to find Juliana soon. I rushed out but halted and looked back to Marilyn. She was confused.
" Thank you, and if Juliana comes again, please don't let her close to my son," I ordered.
I mind-linked a few guards to stand guard on the door. I opened a massive mind link.
' Nate, did you know Juliana is here?' I mind-linked.
' No, I have no recording in the computers. Kiyana and I are going through all the visitors this week,' He answered.
' Marilyn told me she was in the pack and borrowed her phone to call Nalya,' I informed him. My mind went to the security footage we saw. My mate was on a call with someone.
' Could it be... No, Juliana wouldn't sink so low as to work with rogues,' Kendrick said. He was unable to believe this.
' Oh, she would. If she hid coming back, she was sure up to no good,' Ella said, determined.
' We need to bring her in, I swear I'll kill that bitch,' I growled. I trusted her, and she crossed me.
' I know where she must be. I'll bring her in,' Ella said.
' Take guards with you. I don't know what she's capable of anymore,' Kendrick sighed.
' No, all I need is Azura and Kiyana. Meet us at the dungeons in an hour,' Ella cut off the mind link.
