The days that followed soon after the accident was not easy for me at all.
When I got to go home after five exhaust days, Logan reluctantly made me rest all day for three days straight. I wasn't allowed to get up unless it was for the bathroom or shower. Logan and everyone treated me with so much care and love, but it was so smothering.
True, I felt pampered but overwhelmed since I was limited to the things they allowed me to do.
Nate and Kenzie were still being bothered by Kaitlyn as the news of her mom being transferred out of the hospital to jail. The thought that she may go to jail for a long time made her scared. I can't imagine how she feels, she is so little and feels abandoned. I hope Steven gets custody of here soon and they can reconcile. She needs a good home.
She was already feeling overwhelmed not having her dad in her life. The thought of Roxanne never acknowledging her as her daughter, made her depressed at such a tiny age. I mean, honestly, she is such a beautiful girl, how can Roxanne not want her? Every kid has the right to a happy, safe, and loving home.
She has been venting her anger out on the two people she felt were at fault for her dismay, Nate and Kenzie. I try and tell my two kiddos to be easy on her. She is just stressed over her mom's situation, and we need to support her, instead of making her responsible as well.
Logan has been so busy working on both cases towards Roxanne and her dad, as well as taking care of Nate by dropping him off, and picking him and McKenzie up from school every day. He runs from one place to the other. He's really trying his best to help me. But I feel like sooner or later he's going to become overwhelmed with all of this as well.
I have been struggling to get my work done. Having a cast on my writing hand is bad enough. It limits me in so many ways.
I can't even bathe on my own properly, I mean, don't get me wrong, Logan helping me in the shower? Gahd... That man gets freaky in the shower... I love it. But I hate having to bother him every time I need a bath.
Riley has been sending prepared meals for me and my boys through her catering company. My God, if you guys only knew... I feel like I gained ten pounds, but her food is damn good, we leave absolutely no leftovers. Especially with Logan, he's like a damn vacuum, he eats so much. Yet, his body is ridiculously sexy.
As for Roxanne, last I heard, she was wheel-chaired out of the hospital and taken to the town's sheriff's station a few days ago. The county prison was too far, and for the first few days, she had no choice but to wait until she gets transferred.
Her lawyer only came to give her one bad news after another as she was then transferred to county jail this morning to wait for the date of her trial. She of course pleaded not guilty, but I guess now, we just have to wait and see what happens.
We are all going back to normal little by little. Life isn't always easy, but there's no point in becoming bitter and wishing bad upon someone else. Karma can go both ways, and as Logan says... Everything you do has a consequence. Whether good or bad, everything has a consequence. I guess Karma is finally catching up to Roxie. I just wish that this time, she can reflect on everything she has done and change for the best.

Third Person POV
Roxanne was angry, crying out each time her mom visited her lawyer cane to talk to her. She tried to convince her lawyer that it was not her fault. The news of her case against Steven only added to her anger. If her mom couldn't prove that she was well off and more than capable of taking care of Kaitlyn while also taking care of her ill husband, Roxanne was sure to lose custody of Kaitlyn as well.
"I don't care what you have to do, get her out of here. Take her to your brother's house...anything. I don't want Steven to take that brat with her. You better not lose custody of her, do you understand?" Roxanne whisper-yelled at her mom making her nervous.
"I can't take her there, it'll be too obvious. Besides, he won't answer my calls. And you know him. I can't just show up with her there." her mom knitted her eyebrows feeling hopeless.
"God, you're so incompetent. How the hell did dad end up with someone like you?" she says making her mom's eyes wide in shock. Her mom's posture becomes cold, sitting up straight in her chair and clearing her throat.
"The question is... How did I get stuck with a cold-hearted bitch for a daughter like you? You have had so many opportunities to have a good life, but you ruined them yourself because you are just as greedy as your father. I covered for him and you for far too long. Sucked up every time he was unfaithful, every time he tried to swindle a new client and stole from his partner." her eyes watered, her throat filled with pain.
"I had to act if nothing was wrong, and turn the other way. And it's been the same with you. You've used boys and taken advantage of them just as your father did those women."
She gulps down, sniffling as Roxanne's eyes look at her mom in disbelief. It was the first time her mon had ever spoken up to her.
"I am done with all this shit, you hear me? Done. It doesn't matter how much I do for either one of you, it will never be enough." she says slamming her hands slightly on the table. Roxanne looks to the side as other inmates and their guests also turn at the sudden disruption.
"You're on your own, Roxanne. I will not break any laws on your behalf just so you can keep Kaitlyn from her dad. He is a good guy, and he will be a good dad to her, I don't understand why you can't just give him custody, you don't even care about Kaitlyn. He'll be a better parent to her than you have ever been."
Roxie feels the words as if someone had punched her in her gut. She acts without hesitation, slapping her mom across her face harshly, making her head turn to a side and leaving red markings where her hand struck.
"You should talk. You were a pathetic excuse for a mother as well, Tanya. I hate you. You never cared for my brother or me. You're a pathetic excuse for a mother. You can't even stand up to that old man. You knew he was a whore and yet you stayed with him, and you know why?" Roxanne stands tall in front of her, and the guards take hold of her, restraining her from her arms.
"Because you're a wimp. You're too scared to be alone, too scared to stand on your two feet. Dad cheated on you because you were never good enough for him, and you will never be enough, even with him in a fucking wheelchair. You're pathetic, Tanya. Pathetic." she raises her voice as the two guards begin to pull her back to her cell.
Tanya is left standing alone, feeling pained as she is surrounded by a room of inmates and strangers.
She wonders if she had to be one of the worst villains in a past life to deserve such a life full of anger and frustration. It doesn't matter how much she has tried to do things right by her family, it's never enough. But this time, she will do what's right, at least for one of them.
She goes home, with the intention to do the right thing. She gets on her phone and dials the number left on the envelope that was given to Roxanne the day she was told about Steven fighting for Kate's custody.
The phone rings twice, and then a sweet voice answers on the other line. "It must be the Secretary answering," she thinks to herself.
"Mr. Spencer's office, this is Heather speaking..." she sighs, closing her eyes. Her heart raises at a million per second.
Sure, she will miss that little girl. I mean, she has practically taken care of her since birth, but she knows it's the right thing to do. Her eyes swell with tears as she gets transferred to her destined call, and explains her terms.
Now the only thing to do... Is waits for Kate to get home, and tell her the news, hoping she did the right thing, and more than anything, hoping Kate doesn't hate her.
