Still In Love With You

Chapter 82- You’ll Always Be My Girl

Ch. 82 / 87 Sep 17, 2024

Sophie

I was anxious.

I don't know why, I mean, it's not the first time Logan and I go out on a date. This was a weekly thing we did back in high school. We loved spending time together, but for some reason, I was nervous.

He looked stunning, wearing a black suit with a dark blue shirt and matching tie. I decided on a simple black dress that hugged my body perfectly. It was about mid-thigh length, with a low round cut in the front. I wore black stilettos and a long winter coat since it was snowing out already.

It was pretty cold out, but I was still warm by the coat and the car heater. It was going to be a while before I became accustomed to the weather here again. The California weather is so unpredictable. It could be December and 90 degrees Fahrenheit out. Yet, it could be May, and be pouring outside.

Luckily, this winter was not so harsh here. Sure, it was showing, but it was very light and was not as cold as I remember.

We finally made it, Logan parked at my dad's vineyard. I looked puzzled, I thought we would have gone somewhere else, but I still didn't mind. I loved the food in all the little restaurant's dad had scattered through the vineyard.

Logan went around, opened the door for me, and held his hand out for me to help me out of the car.

I smiled, taking his hand and exiting the car.

There was a new structure. I had passed by and saw it when they were building it, it was so pretty. It looked like a massive B&B with a restaurant in the bottom structure. Or more like a mini-hotel of some sort. In either case, it looked beautiful.

I wonder why dad ever mentioned to me that he was building this place?

"Wow, this place looks so pretty," I said as my eyes admired the stoned structure. It was as if we had literally stepped into a portal to Italy.

"You like?"

"I love. Why didn't dad tell me he was building this place? It's so beautiful. Look? He planted daisies everywhere!" I said as we made our way up the steps.

He chuckles, holding my hand firmly in his as he leads me to the entrance.

Pascal, dad's manager opens the door as we come up. I smile as he greets us, and leads us inside.

My eyes go wide in shock as we enter. The place looked beautiful. Roses are placed everywhere, and the place is illuminated with candles, lights are dimmed low and a young boy is playing piano softly by the bar.

"Mr. Spencer, Sophie... Glad to have you here this evening. Your table is ready sir, right this way please." Pascal says as he leads us to our table. He takes our coats and hands them to a young girl who leaves quickly to put away our coats.

Logan pulls the chair out for me, smiling as he waits for me to sit.

"Logan, this is so romantic. Did you and dad set all this up for us tonight? This is so beautiful." I say as I touch my face with the back of my face.

"Sophie, this is our place."

I look at him dumbfounded and tilt my head as I smile trying to ponder his words. "Wha-what do you mean, our place?" I ask making him blush with a smile.

He reaches over, grabbing my hand and biting his bottom lip.

He looks around and then looks intensely into my eyes.

"I mean, that your dad asked me to partner with him, and I accepted. This restaurant, this... Breakfast and bed... It's ours. It's our business. That was the reason I went to New York the weekend you had the accident. I hired a group of men to work in the last details of this place, and," he says as Pascal comes and pops open a bottle of rose, pouring it into my flute glass and fills Logan's as well.

"I signed a contract with a company that is willing to mass-produce your dad's wine. Your dad's wine will be sold nationwide as of this year coming up. I wanted you to be the first to try his new collection." I was in awe at his words.

It had always been dad's dream to sell nationwide and to someday go global. "What?" I asked amazed. "Logan, I, I don't know what to say. Why do you do all these things for us? For me, for my family?"

"Our...family, Sophie. Your dad and your brothers mean a lot to me too. You guys have always been part of my family. And I would do anything to help you guys and see you thrive. I have loved this experience so far, your dad is an amazing partner. I mean, it's a fucking hell of a lot of work. But, I love it. And I do it all for you because I love you. I care a lot about you Sophie, you know that. You're my world. You'll always be my world and my only girl."

A tear falls down my cheek unexpectedly. My throat feels a knot, and the butterflies in my stomach flutter as I hear his words. If I could do this life all over again, I would pick him again each time and try to do better for him.

"You're amazing, you know that? You don't have to do any of this, there's a lot you don't need to do. Not just for us, but many of us in this town... Yet... You do. You go out of your way to help anyone in need, and for that, I think you are the best man in the world. I love you, Logan. And even if you didn't have all this money, even if you were broke, and we lived in a tiny house... I would still pick you over anyone else. It's always been you, Logan. Always." I say making his smile bigger.

It melted me to see his smile. He's the best, most wonderful man.

"Glad to hear you say that, because..." he says as he stands up, placing his hand in his pocket and bringing a small blue velvet box from inside.

My eyes go wide, my heart begins to raise at a million per second and I feel like crying.

Before I know it, he's down on one knee, and a big beautiful Asscher cut ring is placed in the middle. I can't help but cover my mouth with my hands, making him chuckle.

"Sophie, since the day I first saw you in fifth grade wearing your nerdy thick glasses, your two pigtails, and reading books, I fell in love with you. I have been in love with you ever since. You rock my world, you've been the only girl to call me on my bullshit, and managed to get through my thick skull." he says making me chuckle as I feel the knot in my throat build up. I can't help but let my tears fall freely.

"You came into my life to tame the beast in me, to ease my worries, and show me what love truly means. I want to keep waking up next to you for the rest of my life. To grow old with you, to have a dozen babies with you..." he says making me chuckle. The idea of having more kids did make me feel happy. I will never forget our heaven baby, but I know that by giving our other babies a good life, I'd be also honoring his memory.

"Sophie Marie Patterson, will you do me the honors and become Mrs. Spencer?" he says as he gulps down nervously. I can see his hands shaking, his voice down low in a husky tone.

I close my eyes and feel the warmth of my tears as they roll down my cheeks. I nod, and I have to gulp down hard to be able to speak as I reply to him with a quivering voice.

"Yes...yes, I will marry you, Logan. Yes, oh fucking yes." I say as he chuckles, tears roll down his eyes as he wraps his hands around my waist and pulled me up off my chair.

I squeal as he picks me up bridal style and spins me around quickly, making me wrap my arms around his neck.

He slows down and looks at me intensely in my eyes as I close the gap between us and kiss him, making our tongues mold beautifully together.

He softly puts me down, holding me by my waist and resting his forehead against mine. I have never felt so happy in my life, other than the birth of my son.

He places the ring on my finger and kisses me one more time. He then does the unexpected, and yells out, "She said yes, folks. She said yes," I chuckle as he pulls me close, kissing me.

Then I jump in place as I become startled at the sound of people cheering. All our friends, my dad, my brothers, Logan's mom, Ashley, and everyone comes out from hiding. They all come out cheering, congratulating us, and hugging us.

"Dad, mom," Nate calls to us as he runs and hugs us.

This was a beautiful end to our night... Or the beginning of a great night.

What more did life have in store for us? Only time would tell.

For now, I was glad that our troubles seemed to have gone away, and the hardships had only served to bring Logan and me closer together.

Troy had moved up his wedding a couple of weeks to finish up some business affairs he had. Steven had received a file with Tanya's signature granting him full custody over Kaitlyn, and Amber had received a mysterious call from Nashville. Things were looking better for everyone, and I wish the best to come soon, for all of us, especially, Logan and me.
